The Lafayette School District announced their Teacher of the Year winner today, and the Teacher of the Year is Carroll Martin.

Carroll Martin, or Ms. Martin as her students call her, is currently a teacher at Burton Valley Elementary School, teaching the school’s 4th/5th grade “AIM” class. She has taught in the Lafayette School District for the last 39 years.

Martin will go on to represent the Lafayette School District in the county Teacher of the Year competition and potentially the state competition.

The school district will honor Martin at an awards banquet in September.
