A man came close to a potentially fatal crash in Lafayette today when he lost control of his car while driving on Taylor Boulevard, according to the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. After sliding off of the road, the car struck a tree, which caused major damages to the car. Behind the tree was a drop of approximately 300 feet, which would have likely proved to be fatal for the driver.
The “Jaws of Life” had to be used to get the injured driver out of the car. The driver suffered head injuries and was rushed to John Muir Medical Center.
The driver’s name and other information has not been released.
