One of the biggest news stories out of the Lamorinda area in recent years may finally be coming to an end, as the California Supreme Court refused to hear Susan Polk’s appeal for her 2006 second-degree murder conviction. A lower appeals court already upheld the original verdict in December.
Susan Polk is serving a sentence of 16 years to life for killing her husband, Felix Polk, in 2002.
The trial made national news when Polk chose to represent herself, questioning her own children on the stand. The case also drew attention based on the fact that the couple met when Felix was Susan’s therapist when she was just a teenager.
