“The Bank,” an Australian thriller about greed and avarice in the banking industry, is the May offering in the ongoing Orinda International Film Show, with showings scheduled May 20-26 at the Orinda Theatre.
Centabank CEO Simon O’Reilly (Anthony LaPaglia) plies his trade in a world rife with avarice and corruption. Jim Doyle (David Wenham), a maverick mathematician who has devised a formula to predict the fluctuations of the stock market, joins O’Reilly’s fold. He must prove his loyalty to the “greed is good” ethos — which way will he go, and what does he have to hide?
Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 1:30, 4:15, 7 and 9 p.m.; and Sundays and Mondays at 1:30, 4:15 and 7 p.m.
