calendar.jpgDid you remember to turn your calendar this morning? We now begin August, the month of canceled government meetings. Here’s what your local governments are up to this week:

Orinda City Council: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Orinda Library Auditorium, 26 Orinda way, Orinda

  • The only thing on the open session agenda is a new contract for City Manager Janet Keeter. It will run through fiscal year 2014 and sets her base salary at $183,492, which is essentially where it was set last year. The council will meet in closed session before the regular meeting to discuss a possible agreement with the Moraga-Orinda Fire District for the district to lease or buy space at City Hall for their administrative staff. Agenda and staff reports here. Which leads us to …

Moraga-Orinda Fire District Board of Directors: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Administration Building board room, 1280 Moraga Way, Moraga

  • Directors will likely make a decision on new offices for the district’s administrative staff. Chief Randy Bradley has recommended purchasing a nearby building for $1.1 million, but some directors and members of the public think the Orinda City Hall option is a better one. Staff report here.
