Fire district office update

The Moraga-Orinda fire board met in closed session last night to discuss possibly leasing office space at Orinda City Hall (the other option being purchasing an office building in Moraga) but did not take any reportable action. They have a regular meeting scheduled for next Wednesday, the 17th, but could conceivably call another special meeting before then.

The fire district did make a counter-offer to the city of Orinda’s original offer to lease 2,700 square feet of City Hall space for about $67,000 annually. The City Council on Friday lowered the price to $62,000 annually. A link to the city’s most recent proposal is below. The fire district has declined to disclose its counter-offers to the city, saying it is district policy not to negotiate in public.
