On Tuesday, between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., Lafayette Police received reports that a man in his 30s driving a white BMW approached a juvenile and her babysitter and asked them where they lived. A second report came in that the same man had approached another juvenile, asking if they needed a ride home.

Police were able to track down the man to his residence, but police determined that no actual crime had been committed, so they could not bring the man into custody.

The Lafayette School District is asking all parents to discuss proper safety precautions with their children. The Lafayette Police Department is asking that any similar incidents be reported to them immediately.
