Former Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School teacher, Julie Gay Correa, officially took a plea deal Wednesday that will send her to prison for her involvement in the molestation of a student in the 1990s.

Correa was faced with 12 felony counts and plead no contest to four counts as part of the plea deal. Those were one count of forcible sexual penetration of a minor and three counts of lewd acts on a child over age 14.

If Correa receives the maximum sentence, she could spend eight years in prison. She will also be a registered sex offender for the rest of her life.
