The Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament with a 3-2 overtime win against Brown on Sunday night. They become only the second team in school history in any sport to make it to the Elite Eight of an NCAA Tournament (men’s basketball did it in 1959).

An upset win over North Carolina would send the Gaels to the Final Four in Hoover, Alabama the following weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers from the Lamorinda Sun blog!

The rainy weather may turn some of those Thanksgiving backyard football games into “mud bowls.” With a forecasted high of 54 degrees and rain expected throughout the day, it’s going to be a cold and wet Thanksgiving.

Mix rain with regular holiday traffic, and there are going to be some long drives for our traveling locals.

Stay safe, and try to stay dry! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Campolindo boys and girls cross country teams did exactly what they expect to do every year – win the North Coast Section Divison 3 title.

The boys title is their sixth since 2003. The girls title made them repeat winners and was their 10th NCS title since 1996. Both teams believe they can win the state title, which is their next event.

The boys were led by Thomas Joyce, a senior, who finished first in the Divison 3 race. The girls were led by star runner Carrie Verdon who finished a minute and five seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Miramonte finished third and Acalanes finished seventh in the boys meet. In the girls meet, Acalanes finished second and Miramonte finished ninth.
