The Moraga-Orinda Fire District will hold a series of open houses to discuss the replacement of fire station 43. The first will take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at the station, 20 Via Las Cruces in Orinda.

The open houses are aimed at allowing the community the view the existing station, discuss the replacement project and meet with Fire Chief Randy Bradley and other officials who will oversee construction.

Earlier this year, the district identified replacing the 60-year-old station, on Via Las Cruces as its top priority. The district estimates it will cost $3 million to construct the new station.
