Local water polo teams all advance in NCS

The NCS Division 2 Girls Water Polo semifinals are full of local teams. Miramonte beat Marin Catholic, 9-5, in the quarterfinals and will face Las Lomas Thursday at De La Salle in one semifinal. The other semifinal pits Campolindo against Acalanes, which will be at Campolindo on Thursday. The Cougars beat Sir Francis Drake, 12-8, in their quarterfinal, while the Dons beat Northgate, 7-2, in theirs.

Campolindo, Miramonte and Acalanes all won their first round games in the NCS Division 1 Boys Water Polo playoffs on Saturday. Campolindo beat Irvington, 13-6, while Acalanes beat Mission San Jose, 19-6. Campolindo and Acalanes face each other in the quarterfinals Tuesday at Campolindo at 5:30 p.m. Miramonte will host Washington Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. after the Matadors beat James Logan, 19-3, in the first round.
