Supervisor Gayle Uilkema to retire in 2013

Gayle Uilkema, a former Lafayette mayor and current Contra Costa County supervisor, announced this morning she will step down at the end of her term in January 2013.

Times political editor Lisa Vorderbrueggen has the story.

Uilkema was elected to the Lafayette City Council in 1978 and served for 19 years, including four times as mayor.
