The Miramonte football team had a dominating performance in their first round NCS Divison 3 playoff game Saturday night. The fifth-seeded Matadors beat the 12th seed, Tennyson, 42-7.
The Matadors dominated the game from the start, as they cruised to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and a 35-0 halftime lead. A third quarter touchdown was all Tennyson could muster, but it was not nearly enough.
With the win, the Matadors advance to the quarterfinals where they will play the fourth seed, Encinal, on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Encinal. The Matadors overall record improved to 10-1 with their first round win, with their only loss coming at the hands of undefeated Campolindo.
