The Campolindo football team is worthy of the cliche: “a team of destiny.” The Cougars, who were picked to finish last in the DFAL, are now 13-0 and set to play in the NCS Division 3 championship game after one of the most dramatic games in Campolindo football history.
The Cougars fell behind early, 21-0, to Cardinal Newman, but the Cougars clawed their way back to tie it up, 21-21. Cardinal Newman tacked on a field goal shortly after to re-take the lead, 24-21. Late game dominance by the Couagrs earned them a 35-24 upset victory.
The Cougars will play the winner of tonight’s Marin Catholic/Encinal game in the NCS Division 3 championship game next weekend.
