The DFAL soccer league kicked off Wednesday night for the local boys and girls high school teams.
Acalanes met up with Las Lomas in their opening game of the season. The Acalanes boys beat Las Lomas, 2-1, with some help from Las Lomas, as both Acalanes goals were knocked in by Las Lomas defenders. The Acalanes girls tied Las Lomas, 2-2, with a goal with only five minutes remaining.
Campolindo faced Alhambra with the boys earning a 5-3 home win and the girls winning 2-1 on the road.
Miramonte’s teams had their DFAL bye right out of the gate, but both teams played nonleague games. The boys lost a tight one to Bishop O’Dowd, 1-0, while the girls dominated a much weaker Hayward team, 8-1.
