Although league play doesn’t tip off until after the new year starts, all of the local high school basketball teams have already played a number of games.

The Miramonte girls have been the most impressive so far in the early season, earning a perfect 6-0 record and outscoring opponents, 460-216, in those six games.

The Campolindo boys are also 6-0 so far this season, outscoring opponents, 351-297.

The Miramonte boys have not suffered a loss this season either with wins in their first three games.

The Acalanes boys also look to be strong contenders this year with a 4-2 early season record. Their two losses came at the hands of De La Salle and El Cerrito, which are two strong teams.

The Acalanes girls and Campolindo girls have both experienced some early season struggles. The Dons are 3-3, and the Cougars are 2-3. Both teams expect to improve and be contenders in league play.
