The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team clinched the West Coast Conference regular season title outright with a 67-60 win over USF on Saturday. The title is Saint Mary’s first since 1989. It is also the first time someone other than Gonzaga has won the title since 2000.

While the team should receive an at large bid to the NCAA Tournament in March, they can guarantee themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament by winning the WCC’s postseason tournament.

The Gaels are the number one seed in the WCC tournament and have earned a bye to the semifinals. The Gaels will play their semifinal game on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in Las Vegas. The game will be shown live on ESPN2.
