The City of Lafayette will be taking place in the international Earth Hour event this Saturday, March 31, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

As part of the event, all of the lights will be turned off in Lafayette Plaza for the hour. The turning off of the lights is an act meant to signify and increase awareness of the Earth’s constant climate change.

A group of fire dancers will be performing during the hour in Lafayette Plaza to entertain those participating in and supporting the event.

The event is being sponsored by Sustainable Lafayette Рhttp://sustainablelafayette.org. For more information on Earth Hour internationally, visit http://www.earthhour.org.
