A group of friends of Tucker Hacking, the 20-year-old who died in a skateboarding accident in Lafayette in January, are stuck in a battle with the City of Walnut Creek over renaming the Walnut Creek Skate Park to the Tucker Hacking Memorial Skate Park.

Hacking spent much of his time at the Walnut Creek Skate Park and helped in the fundraising and planning of the park prior to it being built. The City of Walnut Creek has a policy in place that does not allow for city locations to be named after people.

Hacking went into a coma after injuring his head in a skateboarding accident on Juanita Drive in Lafayette in January. He died from the injury two days later.
