A moving truck got caught on some wires this morning on Risa Road in Lafayette, which led to a power pole being pulled down to the ground.

Local residents immediately lost power when the wires came into contact with the ground. The lines have a safety mechanism that automatically shuts them off when they come into contact with the ground.

Lafayette Police did not take any chances though, informing residents in the area to stay inside and away from the downed power lines.

PG&E crews have been working all day to get the power pole safely back into place and get power restored to all local users.
