Measure A missed out on passing by a slight margin after 64.97 percent of voters supported the parcel tax that needed two-thirds support to pass.
If Measure A had passed, a $225 parcel tax would have been added to support the Moraga School District. In total, the passage of the parcel tax would have netted the school district $1.2 million annually.
Some voters who were against Measure A noted that there is already a $325 parcel tax in place that brings in $1.8 million annually for the school district. Measure A would have been in addition to the parcel tax already in place.
The Moraga School District is planning to bring in the money via fundraising or by potentially adding another parcel tax to a future ballot.
