Christine Walwyn, 62, of Moraga, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after she was involved in a car accident in Marin tonight.
According to California Highway Patrol, Walwyn’s Honda Civic crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a police officer driving his patrol car to veer to avoid a head-on collision. The front left sides of the cars collided, sending the patrol car down into a ditch and into a tree. The police officer in the patrol car was stuck inside the car for approximately 30 minutes.
Neither Walwyn nor the police officer were believed to have any major injuries as a result of the crash. A CHP spokesperson said they do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
