The Miramonte High School football team kept themselves in the playoff hunt with a win in what the Matadors were calling a “must-win” game Friday night against Acalanes.
Despite playing at Acalanes, Miramonte looked like the home team early, dominating play in the first half to take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
A 90-yard passing touchdown midway through the third quarter gave the Matadors a 21-0 lead.
The Dons made a valiant comeback attempt by scoring touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough, losing by a final score of 21-14.
With the win, the Matadors improved to 3-4 overall (1-2 DFAL). The Dons fell to 4-2 overall (1-2 DFAL).
