The Campolindo football team surprised everyone last year when they won the DFAL. The Cougars entered this year as favorites in the DFAL and proved last year was no fluke by winning their second consecutive DFAL title. The Cougars clinched the title Friday night with a 28-7 victory against Dougherty Valley. The Cougars are 5-0 in the DFAL and 8-1 overall. With just one game remaining against Dublin, the Cougars are likely to be one of the top seeds in the NCS playoffs.
Despite losing their first two DFAL games, Miramonte now sits in second place after winning their third consecutive game Friday. The Matadors beat Las Lomas, 45-34. With the win, the Matadors move to 5-4 overall and move into the NCS playoff picture.
The Acalanes football team likely improved their NCS playoff seeding as well on Friday night with a 42-29 win over Alhambra. The win moves the Dons to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the DFAL.
