Campolindo named best in the state

If it feels like Campolindo sports have been mentioned a lot this year, it’s because there were titles won by the Cougars across the board. As a result, Campolindo was named the top Division III sports school in California by Cal-Hi Sports.

Campolindo was the only school in the state (in any division) to win two girls state titles this year, winning the state title in cross country and volleyball. Junior Carrie Verdon also won the individual state cross country title.

In the winter, the boys soccer team won the Winter Soccer Classic, DFAL and NCS titles.

During the spring, the baseball and boys volleyball teams added to the trophy case, each winning their respective NCS title.

Congrats to Campolindo and Acalanes baseball

The Campolindo baseball team pulled off a win in the NCS Division 2 championship game to make it their second consecutive title. The fourth-seeded Cougars were the underdog in the final against the #2 seed, Clayton Valley, but the Cougars took control of the game early and held on for a 5-3 win.

The Acalanes baseball team won the NCS Division 3 title… well, half of it. After the original game was rescheduled due to rain, the Dons held a 4-2 lead heading into the final inning of the rescheduled game, but San Marin scored two runs to tie the game. The game remained tied after the tenth inning when the game was suspended due to darkness. Due to it being finals week for the two schools, the game could not be rescheduled to finish, and NCS gave the two teams a co-NCS championship.
