McFadden, Walker suited up
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Thursday, September 18th, 2008 at 12:02 pm in Oakland Raiders.
Working from home today, but Medianews beat writer Steve Corkran reports that running back Darren McFadden and wide receiver Javon Walker went through warm-ups and drills with the team and are preparing to practice.
Left tackle Kwame Harris and running back Justin Fargas did not practice. Coach Lane Kiffin said Wednesday he hoped Harris would be able to go today. Fargas hasn’t been officially ruled out but will not play.
It remains to be seen whether how much McFadden and Walker will actually practice of if they will complete the session.
I’ll relay more information as I receive it later . . .

The Raiders need both of these guys to win.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Thank God. Now we just need Kwame to go tomorrow
September 18th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Re-watching the KC game last night, I counted 6 missed opportunities for INTs. They need to take advantage of a lot more of those against Buffalo.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
It’s time for Javon to start earning his trillions.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Here’s our stats so far in the league:
per game NFL AFC WEST
Total Offense 331 yds 13th 3rd
Total Defense 315.5 yds 18th 1st
Points Scored 18.5 pts 19th 3rd
Points Allowed 24.5 pts 23rd 2nd
Here’s the Bills:
per game NFL AFC EAST
Total Offense 311.5 yds 16th 1st
Total Defense 247.5 yds 5th 1st
Points Scored 27 pts 7th 1st
Points Allowed 13 pts 7th 2nd
Keep in mind, Bills have played Seattle, and Jax. Two teams hurting right now. Our D might be better than both of those at this point, and our running game too. All we need is our Passing game to come to live.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I’m still a little disturbed at McFadden getting caught from behind. (In re-watching that play, it looks like the KC safety rolled up on McFadden’s right foot when he tackled him, causing the turf toe)
September 18th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Man Walker is a wimp………..he better make some damn catches sunday
September 18th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
DMAC is a gamer. BUSH and DMAC are the one two pucnh we need. Love Fargas but we shold of let him go and used the money elsewhere. Could have kept Rhodes for a mill. D needs to work on the hands drill this week, I also saw all them dropped ints.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Ryan…..its the NFL and there are many fast guys like Dmac out there you know

September 18th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
i really think that this game will be make or break for the Raiders!
September 18th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Ez now fellas, walker will play when he’s ready, D-Mac ia a bonafide stud and will be used accordingly, considering the toe issue. Fargas may be out 4 awile, so get ready 4 a big dose of Bush.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
It was probably hard for the Raiders not to reward Fargas. The guy busted his ass for us last year. But having three great backs is good for depth, but not for playing time. Is Fargas did not get hurt Bush would not have gotton the time to show us he is back. He is back.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
I saw bo jackson and barry sanders get caught from behind so just think about that.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Raiders Never Going Back to LA- yeah this is a huge game and will be great if we pull it out
September 18th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
post 11 hahahahahahahaha
September 18th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
You HAVE to have Fargas back there. Having a rookie QB (essentially) with a rookie LT (essentially) with two rookie RB’s is a recipe for disaster in the blocking and blitz assignment schemes. Fargas has been a devastating blocker for the last two years.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Oops, forgot Kwame, weather he plays or not, the Raiders will still get their yards on the ground. Like it or not, Gallery has become a solid pass blocker, and quite excellant on the running plays. If Grove can stay healthy, with Carlyle, I think now may be the time 4 Mario 2 step it up. He played well enough on Sunday against the Chiefs, I know they are quite weak, but that had to boost his confidence, which is his downside anyway.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
This Bills team is playing with confidence. VERY DANGEROUS! Execution and finishing blocks is the key to keeping this game respectable.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
grove sucks
September 18th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Michael Bush — Will probably be shouldering the load for this team Sunday. He needs to stay healthy while doing it, we are suddenly thin at RB.
JaMarcus — Your time has arrived, son. Take control and run a confident, winning offense. Take control.
Kiff — Just keep on winning. The coach who turns this mess around, and wins while doing it, isn’t likely to go anywhere. Get this team to rally around you, and build the TEAM. Show the reasons you deserve a contract extension (with more responsibilities even?), and then we wouldn’t be hearing so much rumor-mill B$.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
Yes Brien, Grove has sucked in the past, partly due 2 health issues, he is however undersized, but his play thus far this year is acceptable at worst, and above average at best.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Walker is a joke and so is the fool that signed him.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Who cares if Jovan practices, he has practiced all off-season and has yet to man up and suit up for a game. My bet is that he doesn’t play this weekend, barely plays against SD, and quits during the bye week.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
You know what’s funny to me. How we were all saying how easy the Raiders schedule was when it first came out, but now, if you take a second look at it, all the teams after the bye, who were the “easy” teams, have now become decent to good teams. Isn’t that perfect Raider (maybe more like Davis) karma?…
How does it happen every year, that the crappy teams we are supposed to play, all of a sudden get good?
September 18th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Raiderhomey……..I agree I feel this game and next it will be painfully obvious John Wade should be starting………Grove is a nonfactor against good dlines
September 18th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Walker is a joke
true but not a very funny joke, kind of sad and pathetic really.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
EM- the NFL is just that unpredictable i guess………..but I stand by the easy schedule thing……the stretch of NO to Mia should give us 4 wins IMO
September 18th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
I don’t buy it , here’s how it will sound on Sunday……” Javon felt good on Friday and we thought he would be able to go but, this morning he didn’t feel he had “IT” so were going to let him sit this one out.”
September 18th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
I defended Walker but what a little snatch
September 18th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
I doubt we are ever going to see anything out of Javon Walker all year.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
ALs’ walker is more productive than this piece of sht.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Hey, only 30 more games with Walker and then Al can cut him in the “Capless Year”, lol.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
The only thing that will come out of Walker was taken in Vegas.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Al Davis, Hollywood and Vine is where you get your male hookers? Alright. I think that’s Eddie Murphy’s spot, too.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
post 37 thats fugged up……..but prolly true
September 18th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Yo HayesDaze, u r 100 percent correct, Al is 2 effin old to keep messing with any form of continuity between the coach and the players. As long as Kiffy keeps winning, and by the way, that grin he flashed n kc on sunday amidst the glow of victory, on a field which has been a literal “house of doom” 4 the Raiders, was as big as the latest eclipse. Just win baby means alot more to the old man than u might think. If the winning trend continues, and next week we have the charge-pukes, one of Al’s and everybody else n the nation’s most hated, a 3-1 start will boost Kiffin’s standing with the Al immensley, if it isn’t alreadt there, u no what i mean?
September 18th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Over/Under, on how much of pratice time, the Hammy gets through today?
September 18th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Hollywood= most overrated place ever
September 18th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Brien, yea, it is still an “easier” schedule than what it could’ve been, and yes, I agree with you that we can get 4 at least out of that stretch.
I just think it’s funny how all of a sudden all those teams that were irrelevant last year have now become relevant.
Anyway, I think it starts with this game. If we can pull off a W vs Buff it might give us momentum we can take against SD, who is pisssed off still from what happened last Sunday, so if they win against the Jets this Monday, they will be a tough team to beat at home. Which is why I think getting a W in Buffalo this Sunday is important. If we lose and they win, you can count us going into the bye with a 1-3 record, and it’s bye bye Kiffin. If we win and they lose, I think we can beat them at home. But for some reason SD has had this thing of turning their season around against us the past couple of years… Let’s hope that trend stops this year.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Oakglenn, Javon already has earned his money. Al Davis only signed him to give fans the impression during the off season that he was making big moves. It worked. Javon’s done his job. All he had to do was show up. You’ve got Al Davis to thank for him being here, and for the money he’s getting. No one else.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:41 pm

September 18th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
EMR — those were some good stats you put in above. Player-to-player and position-to-position, the Raiders and Bills match up pretty well.
Our offense should be able move the ball, the Bills haven’t seen anything quite like our running game yet. Time for JaMarcus to get a TD or two now, and the team has turned the tide. The Raiders defense needs to continue its creative ways — a good disguise is as good as the blitz, and often better.
Ryan and Kiffin need to talk on the sidelines, and at halftime, no matter how distasteful it may seem. The only way the team moves ahead like a machine is if all its parts are meshing, whether they like each other or not. These two guys need to block-out the distractions and stay on task now.
It’s time for the Raiders to start acting like a team with a purpose. A team on a mission. A tough trip to Buffalo, and if they escape with a win, it’ll be the most important win under Kiff’s regime. As important to the team as it is to Kiffin personally.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Mario Henderson played a halfway decent game last week. Based on earlier reports, I was expecting a total retard to be at LT. I think we are all surprised, Mario included. Maybe Harris’ injury is a small blessing in disguise. Mario appears to be improving big time when over the fire. If he continues this improvement we win by surfacing the talent some thought he had all along. Work hard young Pedowan. Soon, with great effort & desire, you may acquire the title of “Super” Mario. We are all in your corner and hope you make your leap to starter status.
DMac needs to play this week. Although he has a turf toe Kiffin needs DMac to complete the package. I also think we need to use DMac more in the passing game. Getting him the ball in the second level will no doubt produce the results we are all looking for. Save the BushMAN for the inside the tackles runs up the gut while flaring DMac out to the slot position. It will also be a lot easier on his toe. With both players in there, the opponent won’t really know what we are intending to do. Don’t forget both DMac & the BushMAN have QB passing experience. Just let your imagination roam with those possibilities. Needless to say, we can only hope that the defense does not regress into old bad habits and scheme. Just play it the way you did last week – blitz & mix. You do your part and Kiffin and the Offense will do theirs. Together we’ll get a W and isn’t that why we are there to begin with?
I get it, Kiffin gets it, the players get it, most others on this blog get it,. Let’s just hope that Al Davis gets it.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
That’s a good point Brien; most of these guys probably played multiple sports (B-Ball, Track) and were coddled more than your average D-Lineman who was only a D-Lineman after they turned 16 or so. How much do you want to bet that Jovan carries a man-purse
September 18th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
HAHA WHO HERE LOVES THE PICTURE FROM THE RAIDERS REPORT VIDEO OF DARREN MCFADDEN STIFF ARMING THE HELL OUT THE DB!!!! CAUSE I DO, I REALLY HOPE HE’S HEALTHY TO PLAY GOOD I SAY HE WILL TAG 110 YARD’S This Sunday AND BUSH 150 what do you guys think?
September 18th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
Daze – agreed.
The only thing that worries me about the match up, is their Dline vs our Oline.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Vegas think about wide recievers…………..they score touchdowns and are like 6 feet to 6′5 at time and are not out of shape……….they are onthe pedestal of God in thier own minds

D_Mac,
Yep, I remember posting in here about how good a stiff-arm McFaddy has before the draft, I compared him to LT in that department. Everybody went off and how he isn’t physical or tough, BS. I heard more than one scout describe his stiff-arm in college as one of the best they had ever seen.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Hey if Jovan would play up to his contract I would put him on a pedestal, but he is a sap and the Jovan Walker experiment is going to end badly, so might as well get it over with IMO.

Do you really think Al Davis uses e-mail? Somehow I doubt it. People of their age, like Davis, like John McCain, etc. are unlikely to adapt to today’s technology.
Old dogs do not learn new tricks well if at all. It’s part of their job to live in the past. Actually it’s a mental thing. As you age your near term memory fades quickly while old memories remain forever. Al Davis is proof of this known fact. Age kills. Old age kills more.

Buffalo will be a BIG test for his team.

I think Javon Walker can really make the difference on Sunday. We need the skills that Al paid for. Running the ball against the Bills will be more effective if we can show some passing ability. You can best believe that the Bills will be doing everything they can to stop the run and dealing with our zone blocking offense. Let’s throw another wrinkle in there and throw a few passes down field.
Hey Mario — give us another week!
September 18th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
JLH= talented guy who just needs to be given chances in the offense…………to win this game they are gonna have to pass it……….I doubt we even get 150 total yards on the ground

I watched the DMC catch from behind a few times. The guy was flying and the last 10 – 15 yds he just slowed up. YOu can see him literally lock up. I dont see it happening again.
I love the DMC touchdown play when he went flying over the cone. The Raiders have been missing that type of ability for years.

People were just convinced that skinny legs equals weakness. Anybody who lifts weights knows that for the most part, legs are very hard to bulk-up in the weight room. You can add muscle into your legs, but they aint getting much bigger (or smaller) than what you were born with. That’s why McFad is so fast, lots of power in the legs, but no bulk to slow him down.

To tell you guys the truth, I would much rather toss in Super Mario in on this game instead of Harris. I don’t care if Harris is ready to go or not. I want to see what Mario can do with an above average line. If not for a whole game, then a few series. It would be great to know what we have with him early.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
EM Raider, good point on the schedule. I was telling my Raider friend about that last weekend. NO, ATL, CAR, NYJ are all going to be tough games. For some reason though, I feel good about the home game against NE. I got a feeling something special is going to happen that night.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

Your point is well taken. There are older folks adapting. Somehow I just can’t picture Al Davis being one of those forward thinkers. Al’s comfortable from where he’s been and there’s the rub. He just won’t come around to what’s needed in today’s game. From Al’s perspective, “if it worked in the 70’s & 80’s, it will work today” – NOT!

The quote I have heard about Henderson from all the way back in college was that he plays up to his competition. If we leave him to play 2nd stringers in practice, he will always look like a 2nd stringer, but if we give him a chance with the big boys, he should shine. I think Kiffin leaves him in, and runs to his side a little more. It will give Henderson confidence, and give Kiffin (and Cable) confidence in Henderson.

I watched that SD v. Den game last night on NFL Replay. I hate to say it, but we have a way to go before we compete in this division. Those teams both looked REALLY good.
The good news is SD is on the downswing.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
BBB they have no choice becuz Harris sucks at LT
September 18th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Henderson did pretty well in parts of the preseason and last Sunday…here’s hoping that he continues to show improvement.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Lelie sucks
September 18th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Don’t listen to the copycat…#119 and 121.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Henderson should have been activated last season!! But another brilliant move by the genius Kiffin
September 18th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Who on this receiving squad doesn’t?
September 18th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Brien<——–knows he great since he has copycats
September 18th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
We should dump Walker and sign Adarius Bowman from the CFL.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
R8R- first off we don’t know what we have in Schilens, Watkins and Higgins……..Kiffin is being a total dumbass……..them youngsters deserve a chance after being here all these months working hard
September 18th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
We need Jerry Rice back in Silver and Black…no more signing these foolish former Broncos…shhhhhhit
September 18th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
I’ll give you Chaz thats about it
September 18th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Kiffin give your young offensive weapons a chance to grow together………..but no he is a total clueless daddy’s boy
September 18th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Brien, I hope you are right regarding our schedule. However, the NY Brets are much improved with Favre.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
Kiffin has to play Walker because Al signed him to the big $$$ contract…nuff said.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Well we all know post 130 is a fraud because everyone knows I hate Fairy Rice and didnt cheer once when she caught a pass
September 18th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Favre’s idiot INT cost them last week………he will be doing that quite a few more times………he is still 2005 and 2006 Favre dont let last season fool you
September 18th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
post 134- you are a coward and cant come under your own name…nuff said
September 18th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
R8R- only Chaz? yawwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn to that Watkins is an unknown and the dissing of JLH on this site is so damn stupid it makes me waana vomit
September 18th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
So you hate good players that work hard and get results? That explains your support of Al Davis
September 18th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Dont hate on me because I post comments every ten seconds and they are meaningless drivel….
September 18th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Jerry Rice ran like a white boy…he was nothin to me since he was first a 49er…shhhhittt
September 18th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
BBB- no I hate frauds that were in Oakland for only selfish reason……..the b*tch said inthe press conference I’m a 49er for life………and you know what I got onthe Ticket 1050 that day and said we would never win a title with that punk…………..2001 we got what we deserved as well as 2002……….hell would have frozen over to win a title with Mrs 49er herself
September 18th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Real Raider fans would never support a 49er wearing Silver and Black…
September 18th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Nice try copycat………drivel? you’re confusing that word with Truth buddy………try again
September 18th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Every player on our roster right now is there for selfish reasons: money. They are certainly not playing for pride, poise, excellence or to win, baby.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Real Raiders would never wear a punk ass rice jersey……….all you people who did so and disrespect Timmy like that outta be shot like a old dog
September 18th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Brien(Authentic)…JLH has done nothing to suggest he should be a no. 2 or 3 WR,and if Watkins is so good why not play him instead of Lelie ?
September 18th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Pussssssy copycat cant post under his real name…I’ll bet you are a woman…
September 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
BBB- the b*tch came to bandwagon more wins and more meaningless catches because she was scared of Randy Moss’ pace of catches,TDs, yards etc……..fraud…..she showed her true colors against buffalo in 2004……..you remember that right?
September 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
“get ready 4 a big dose of Bush.”
That’s what she said!
September 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
What about Plunkett he was a niner and a pat
September 18th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
post 147………any reason to justify why he cant? Kiffin is a dumbass thats why Lelie is playing
September 18th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Kiffie hasnt given JLH a chance yet…just wait, I will be proven right on JLH.
We need a coach that isnt afraid of developeing our young talent.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
I think the real Brien has to just get a different game. this happened to me too on thi blog, i used to be Raiderman until the troll invaded my damn name. Real Brien, listen to my advice
September 18th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Plunkett played with them before they became the devil and repeatedly talks trash on the 49er organization………thanks. As far as the Pats……..you think I hate the pats? Nope I dont
September 18th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
#151…thats why I consider us only having won one superbowl…76 baby.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:37 pm

September 18th, 2008 at 1:39 pm

September 18th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Dad,
Dont let him talk to me like that. I thought you were the only one to make fun of how funny shaped and small I am?
September 18th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
There have been some good 49er retreads. Do the names of Jim Plunkett or Ronnie Lott ring a bell? Unfortunately Rice was already out of gas when he got to us. His work ethic was still there though. His average was still better than other WR’s best.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
post 174……..you forgot the south
September 18th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Ronnie Lott=zzzzzzzzzzzzz one ok season that he gets a pro bowl and then sucks in 1992…………….fugg Ronnie Lott

September 18th, 2008 at 1:47 pm

That description best fits Al Davis, not Kiffin. Kiffin is the only one developing the young talent on this team.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Dakota as long as you brought your band of mullet militia men
September 18th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Well, at least we don’t have to play in Buffalo in December.
September 18th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Naw, sorry Brien, I never hate on players while they are wearing the silver and black. and you can hate on bandwagon fans all you want, but they are the people Al is marketing to, so he can fill that stadium and sell that merchandise. Al doesn’t give a rat’s about how “authentic” your fandom is, just so long as your money is green.

September 18th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
BBB- well that obvious….he is a J-w of course money is number 1……….Rice was never a Raider……she is “FiFi” with little twinky androgyny style he had in the 80s when the 49ers drafter her
September 18th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Oh wait, sorry Brien, you probably didn’t make the third grade…sorry if I hit a soft spot.

If Henderson can come around and assume the LT position, Harris at RT would be a large upgrade over Green. Then we only need to upgrade te center position which is always critical to O-line success. Our last good center was Barrett Robbins who was literally half crazy. Crazy or not, when he was on, the line was really on. I guess that’s what we should be looking for in a new center.
IMO, Barrett Robbins melt-down in Mexico prior to the next day Super Bowl was the crack in the bell leading to our failure. Adam True finished off the failure. He may have been an adequate long snapper but he was never a starting quality center. He proved that point during that game.
We need a pro-bowl quality center. That should be high on our priority list.

We need to be able to pass efficiently to beat buffalo. Javon needs to play along side Leilee so we can sit Curry. Walker needs to start earning his money.

How about Walker catches a pass this year and where has Miller been ? blocking every down ? If we don’t give the perception that we can pass we’re one dementional .
September 18th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Dmac will still touch the ball 20-25 times regardless of his toe and Bush will do the same. We won’t have a chance unless we actually pass the ball against the Bills as there is no way we grind 300 yds on the ground against them.
Dmac is just too important to the team this week to not play.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Guys the so-called “easy” schedule issue is a result of two things:
1) Playing up how the Raiders were going to improve in every aspect.
and
2) Pretending everybody else was getting worse.
The Raiders had the 4th overall pick. There are no easy wins for a team ranked 28 out of 32 by record.
Reality Bites. So much of the offseason hype has gone out the window.
“Walker will be fine…” NOPE
“Sands will be back to 2006 form..” not
“Carter will stretch the field…” Not this year
“Hall will be a second shutdown CB…” Not Yet
Buffalo, new Orleans, Denver and the Texans were never going to be easy wins. People just said they would be to justify lofty playoff predictions.
Beating Buffalo in Buffalo would be a big step toward this team being a real contender instead of preseason hype.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
post 225 lol
September 18th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Lelie is playing like he has something to proove, even though the playbook is similiar, hes learining it on the fly ..im willing to bet that when its all said and done he will have the most catches on the team
September 18th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
I think if Walker sits again, they will use Curry again. But if he doesn’t perform, than they will give the chance to either Higgins or Schillins. At least that’s what should happen.
I personally would give the chance to one of those two from the get go, but I think they want Curry to succeed, so that’s that.
If walker can go, I think the combination of him and Lelie will be an interesting one.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Thank you Brien, sacasm is the only thing that I apparntly get right…
September 18th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Kiffin needs to mix it up a bit…we can’t run on every down…well, unless we are playing the Chefs.
Like I said before, I would love to see Russell come out and attack with a short, controlled passing game (like what Denver did to us) because the Bills will be ready for the run. That will get them on their heels and we can proceed to pound the ball down their throats for the rest of the game (with some play action pass bombs mixed in here and there.)
Kiffin doesn’t have the self confidence or the confidence in his WRs to do that, but one can wish.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Sorry, sarcasm
September 18th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
R8R4FER because our WR’s cannot get open teams are clamping down on Miller. If a WR can emerge as a threat, Miller will be able to get open.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
The Bills whole game will be predicated on Lynch and the run game. This is Dick Jauron coached team and no way are they going to air it out like Denver in week one. We better stop the run or else.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
proof*
September 18th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Curry is having some serious problems with JMac’s fastball. He will eventually get use to it. Having him out w/ the bone spurs really set him back. Its unfortunate that the one receiver that JMac built some chemisty w/ is out for the season (Drew).
September 18th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Our biggest advantage against Buffalo will be surprise. I am fully expecting at this point that Fargas is not playing, McFadden will get limited playing time, and Bush will get the start. I believe that this kind of personnel situation will carry with it a different kind of a game plan than the Denver game or the Chiefs game. This means that Buffalo will have absolutely no game film to prepare for our offense. McFadden has shown how effective he is on the outside, so I expect to see more of that than we saw in either Denver or KC. Bush has only run a few plays winding down the clock in KC, so I expect there will be surprises in the playbook for them from Bush to. He will be catching some screens, doing some draws. McFadd might do some direct snaps, and line-up as a wide-out. If I were Buffalo DC right now, I would only have about 2 quarters of game film to focus on, and a lot of question marks.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
As with every game we will play this year, the D has to be spot on to win. There is no way, even over 16 games that we will develope a dynamic passing attack this year. Hell, we look worse than last year when McClown was throwing the rock.
September 18th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
LA Raiders,

September 18th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Curry isn’t coordinated enough to drop passes on purpose and make it look accidental, he is just a college QB, trying is best to make it as a WR in the NFL.

Mooseknuckle! OMG! LMAO!
September 18th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Javon “I got my a$$ beat in a crack deal gone bad” Walker should have been let go when he wanted to retire, and if he was, we could have gotten Anquan Boldin! But, that’s just another Al Davis F*ck up to add to the seemingly endless list. Now, if Davis fires Kiffin, it has to be a ploy to get some trsck star NO. 1 overall, even though no other team has heard of him. Sounds like just the thing Al would do doesn’t it? ” I know, I’m firing the best thing to happen to us since Gruden and Gannon, but listen guys, this guy can run a 4.3 40 yrd dash, and the best part…he plays CB!!!!!”
September 18th, 2008 at 2:56 pm

Mooseknuckle is actually a town in North Dakota
September 18th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
#295: While it seems that the Pats should easily cover that, 13 points is a lot for any NFL game. The Pats were laying 16 against the Chiefs the first week, and barely won and I think Miami is better than the Chiefs. I will probably tease Miami up to 17 or so, and definately wouldn’t lay the wood this week on the Pats.

Ouch, I wonder what it must feel like to have all of your loyal followers discard you in favor of a young punk after only a year. I aint gonna lie, if I were Al Davis I would be feeling real butt-hurt right now. Meanwhile, somewhere in Alameda, John Herrera is editing a print-out of this survey to just show the three people who favored firing Kiffin.

Tim Dahlberg AP Sports columnist wrote an article on Al Davis. It can be found at:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-timdahlberg-091708&prov=ap&type=lgns
After reading it I felt a need to respond. Here’s what I wrote him. I think many here would agree.
Subject: Comments on Al Davis article
Tim,
You were far too easy on Al Davis and you let him off the hook. While the content was accurate, it did not adequately portray what today’s current situation really is. Al Davis, while great in his early days, has regressed to what can best be described as an “out of touch” old geezer who’s showing signs of dementia. He’s always been a meglo-maniac but that’s ok when you are winning. The problem is he’s not winning now and has not won in a long time. Many of his decisions are very questionable. His dictatorship is falling apart and the world is now seeing what he’s become – the problem. He used to be the solution but no longer. I will say, his decision to select Lane Kiffin was a good one. From my perspective, that was his last good decision.
Lane has done many good things in his short time with the Raiders. Most notable was getting rid of many Raider scholarship players & coaches. There’s now a group of new young players with “Real” talent to build a new Raiders team – which should take 3-4 years. There was a positive attitude taking root within the player group. Players were competing and playing to their abilities. Additional wins were attained even though the defense played as it has for the last 25 years. The defense was responsible for at least 4 game losses last year. Had they been playing as they should, the Raiders record would have been 8-8 which is a commendable improvement over the prior 2-12 record.
Davis & Ryan control how the defense is modeled. A model that was effective in the 70’s & 80’s but certainly no longer. Kiffin is not in the defensive coaching loop with Davis & Ryan. Isn’t it interesting how well the defense played in KC after Kiffin exposed the Davis-Ryan connection. The defense started blitzing and mixing things up rather than the traditional old Davis model. Obviously, Kiffin’s speaking up had a positive effect on the team by somewhat forcing Al Davis & Rob Ryan to do something different with the defense. I’m sure Rob Ryan wants the defense to play that way every week but that’s not the way Al wants them to execute. It’s Al’s way or the highway and again there’s part of the problem.
Kiffin has this team going in the right direction. It’s only too bad that Al Davis won’t let him do the complete job. Al should just go take a nap and let Kiffin model him a winner. Unfortunately, Al Davis’ ego can’t stand the competition nor is he willing to share the stage. Yes, Al Davis is the Boss alright. If he fires Kiffin, you can bet that the Raiders will achieve the official notariety of the worst managed team in the NFL. Al Davis needs to go more hands off and let people do their jobs. He should hire a GM and then step back and see what can happen when people who now how to play today’s game do their job.
September 18th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
This Sunday is the last A’s game, so that means the Raiders only had to play one home game with the field not being covered up. No more Baseball diamond for the rest of the season. I am sure SeaBass is happy of that.
September 18th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Per PFT.com, there are some Foxes in the chicken coop again, TAYLOR, HERRERA HAVE THE EAR OF AL DAVIS, (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/?bcsi_scan_89466354B48B7D5D=5p1LIAG1bllThulmN3mxVgoAAAA8TzIA&bcsi_scan_filename=rumormill.htm), the organization is so screwed up! Just let Kiffin coach!
September 18th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Man, Kiff is honest, can not fault him on that.
Go to, am570radio.com look for the “Petros and Money” link, or PMS link. They will have the Kiff interview up soon, to listen via the web.

Raider Glory,
Same stump speech he gives in every interview.
September 18th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
I like kiffi a lot…I really do,, it’s just that the guy would be a HORRIBLE politician….. He says the thruth too many times and does’nt know when to say “NO Comment”…
No doubt he is the BEST coach we have had in Oakland since “CHUKY”!!!
I just wish he kept comments closer to the vest at times!!
September 18th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Captain Kirk is a fool. I love that he’s from the Bay Area. He understands how the fans love the team. He gets it.
September 18th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Yea,,, I listen to Petros and Money…..

September 18th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Morrison is a down a$$ person! not a big head athlete at all
September 18th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Bishop,
It’s pretty obvious that Davis is waiting for the results of the next two games vs Buffalo and S.D……if we go into the bye with a 1-3 record……..It’s bye bye kiffin!!
Hello Ryan/Lofton
Thats my take!!

A very lame site called Raidersfans.net is “reporting” thats Rob Ryan alread has been hired as HC and said the LATEST it would be anounced was yesterday.
I have been trying to tell you they are tabloid reporters aweful site and the guy that runs it is a sumb ass!
September 18th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Kiff, did say that, the “Hammy” practiced ” Some more today, than yesterday.” and ” I’ve told him (Hammy) that we really need him out there. To give Russell a #1 to go to on 3rd. downs.”
September 18th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
lol dumb ass, see all the bs is rubbing off on me!
September 18th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
see this is why it was a good idea to pick up a run dmc in the draft, they knew passing was going to be in issue so why pass up a good back up to injury prone Justin Fargas. we can win with Mcfadden running 100% every game. and Kwame, what can I say? not much I didnt expect much from him anyways
September 18th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
DMC was by far the best football player in the draft.

DMac’s partner in the Arkansas backfield, Felix Jones seems to be adapting as well as Dmac has. Actually Chris Johnson, Forte & Mendenhall are also doing fairly well too. This last draft year appears to have been the year of linemen and running backs.
September 18th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Lame,
Thats a racist comment…You know that!!.. right??
September 18th, 2008 at 5:24 pm

It was RaiderinNY at rf.net who broke the Ryan story. I always liked that guy, although he’s a bit of a blowhard, too. Tough break, Vic. But…remember, he could be right on the money. It’s just unsubstantiated at this point. If it turns out true, NY, big props.

David Steele SFGATE.Com
McMan of Steel
Raiders rookie running back Darren McFadden returned to practice, and he admitted it felt a little awkward. That’s what happens when you try to run around with a steel plate secured around your big right “turf toe” with a sneaker tied on tight.
“It made me feel like I was running flat-footed,” McFadden said Thursday. “When I was first getting out there, I was kind of being shy about it.”
The Raiders can’t be having McFadden in a shell Sunday at Buffalo. Starter Justin Fargas (groin) did not practice again and is doubtful.
They need McFadden to be at full speed like he was Sunday against the Chiefs, when he had 21 carries for 164 yards with one touchdown and five runs of 19 yards or more.
Without him, Michael Bush will be the only healthy running back, and that probably won’t be enough to wear down a Bills defense that’s held Jacksonville and Seattle to under 100 yards rushing.
Where Bush could be the most effective is in pass blocking. As the bigger of the two running backs, he’ll best be able to fill in for Fargas in pass protection — an area Fargas gets little credit in, Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said.
“We’ll be on the safe side with Justin,” Kiffin said. “That does hurt us in a number of things because he is the one veteran back that understands our protections the most. To me, he’s kind of the heartbeat of our offense by who he is.
“The young bucks will have to go and step up.”
More than likely, this will become the game quarterback JaMarcus Russell has to throw the ball, and throw it well. The Bills defense is either going to stop the run, or the Bills offense is going to run up points to make the run a moot point.
In other quick hits:
** Left tackle Kwame Harris (knee) is doubtful, so expect Mario Henderson to make his second NFL start in another tough road venue.
“Don’t get me wrong, (Mario) played very well,” Harris said. “But, I want to play, too. You only get 16 shots at this. I want to get back out there.”
** Wide receiver Javon Walker “seemed fine,” Kiffin said, and pushed through practice. Still, his hamstring issues will make him a game-day decision for the third straight week.
There’s no telling yet if Walker can be the answer for a grounded passing game. But, his absence does nothing to help Russell.
** Tight end Zach Miller is getting tougher to find by the minute. As Russell’s most reliable target in the preseason, Miller has been swarmed by double teams and tight safety coverage — that is, when he’s not staying back to help with the pass protection.
“As far as numbers and catches, he’s hurt himself that way a little bit because he’s so good that we use him so much in protection.”
The Catch-22 is this: if the receivers can neither get open or catch the ball when Miller is buying Russell time, then what’s the point of having Miller being back there to buy Russell time?
He needs to get more involved in the passing game this week, and Kiffin said they’ll find a way.
“We need to find ways to get him involved more.”

from JJ
ALAMEDA – Darren McFadden practiced today with a steel plate in shoe and looks on course to play Sunday in Buffalo.
But you could imagine, running with steel on the bottom of your foot isn’t exactly comfortable.
He did about 70 percent of his usual work in practice.
“It made me feel like I was running flat-footed,” McFadden said. “I feel like once I get used to practicing with that, playing with that, I’ll be all right.”
McFadden’s biggest challenge this week will be pass protection.
With Justin Fargas expected to miss Sunday’s game in Buffalo, the job of protecting JaMarcus Russell back there would fall on McFadden and Michael Bush. Justin Griffith would also help, but he would limit the playcalling according to coach Lane Kiffin.
****
The Raiders running game is averaging 225 yards a game after two weeks, bolstered by a 300-yard day in Kansas City.
Here’s Kiffin on how teams defend the Raiders’ running game when asked if teams were crowding the line of scrimmage to take away the running game.
“I would say dating back to Miami, the fourth game of last year, that that hasn’t changed. I don’t think that we rushed for 300 and all of a sudden … since that Miami game last year no one’s played us soft. Everybody’s been concerned about our running game and not very concerned about our pass game and it’s shown what they played. As you watch Kansas City it’s not like it was a secret we were coming in running there, JaMarcus’ first road start. Sometimes there’s too much looked into. ‘Well, they think we’re going to run so we’re not going to run.’ You still have to stop it, like anything. Last week they were in an eight-man front and the week before they were in an eight-man front and I would think until we really show somebody different, and to where your pass game not just becomes good but where your pass game becomes better than your run game you’re not going to see much two-high safety.”
*****
Kwame Harris (knee) is doubtful for Buffalo, meaning Mario Henderson would get another start at left tackle.
Henderson would have to step his game up against Bills DE Aaron Schoebel, who has played in the last two Pro Bowls.
Fargas and Harris were the only Raiders to miss practice.
Javon Walker (hamstring) finished practice after leaving practice early yesterday.
****
There weren’t any questions asked of Kiffin about his job status – the first time since before the Raiders played Kansas City.
But some fans are making their opinion know.
They’ve started http://www.keepkiffin.com.
And in the interest of equal time during the political season, if there’s a get rid of Kiffin site, feel free to pass it along to me.

Raider Glory, you do realize DMac was facing Kansas City last week, don’t you? You realize they have the worst defense in all of football, don’t you? And that includes college, and even high school. DMac hasn’t been tested yet. You must be 10 years old.
September 18th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Glory
Not second guessing, just making an observation. Actually, I don’t think we’re getting all we can out of DMac yet. Too much effort being made to run him up the gut. He’s much better on the edge and will be a killer when he flares out into the slot. Let’s quit getting him beat up in the middle. We’ve got the BushMAN who is physically built much better for that type of play.
If we can have our WR’s run deep outs on each side taking their protection with them, and then hit DMac over the middle where all he has to deal with is a safety or LB – It’s lights out for them – no contest.
It’s time for more creativity when it comes to DMac & the BushMAN. I don’t care who hits DMac over the middle Either JR or the BushMAN have the tools to get the ball to DMac.

Brain: Brain function varies normally as people pass from childhood through adulthood to old age. During childhood, the ability to think and reason steadily increases, enabling a child to learn increasingly complex skills. During most of adulthood, brain function is relatively stable. After a certain age, which varies from person to person, brain function declines. Different aspects of brain function are affected at different times:
Short-term memory and the ability to learn new material tend to be affected relatively early.
Verbal abilities, including vocabulary and word usage, may begin to decline at about age 70.
Intellectual performance—the ability to process information (regardless of speed)—is usually maintained until about age 80 if no neurologic disorders are present.
Reaction time and performance of tasks may become slower because the brain processes nerve impulses more slowly.
However, the effects of aging on brain function may be difficult to separate from the effects of various disorders that are common among older people. These disorders include depression, stroke, an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism), and degenerative brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease

“this may be our best shot at any continuity”.
Our best shot at continuity is encapsulated in this old saying:
If it’s not broke don’t fix it. All we need is for Ryan to run the defense the same way he did in KC and let Kiffin run the offense as he sees fit. If we are good enough to win, we will.
Changing coaches at this stage of the game is a guaranteed formula for a disastrous failure.

Effects of Aging
Two thirds of all people eventually experience some significant loss of mental lucidity and independence as a result of aging. 60 years and older experience significant cognitive decline, including declines in memory, concentration, clarity of thought, focus and judgment with an increase in the onset of several neurological problems like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke etc

You are right on point. Al’s brain, whether on drugs or not, is simply not working as it did 25 years ago. The aging process sucks – a personal observation. There’s no doubt that Al Davis’ brain is not firing on 8 cylinders any longer. Dementia will hit all of us. Some just sooner than others. Al’s probably a 4 banger right about now. He’s not a bad person, just an old person. Age kills!

Al’s brain is working exactly as it did 25 years ago. It’s just that coaches are no longer willing to not only work for him for mere pennies but also have him take credit for everything they implement. Al can thank his lucky stars for John Madden being as tolerant as he is but it stops there.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
All these injuries are a buzzkill for this game. Harris, Walker, McFadden and Fargas are either questionable or out!
It’d be tough to pull an upset across the country with all the distractions while missing our No. 1 & 2 RBs; No. 1 WR; and starting LT.
Hopefully at least two of these guys can go. Especially McFadden.
Walker needs to get out there. You get the feeling he’d prefer lounging out in the training room all season and collect his milllions than go out and do something to earn his money. I don’t want to question a guy’s injury too much, but should it really take a 29-year-old professional athlete with access to the best medical care out there over a month to recover from a pulled hamstring? Especially when he’s been well enough in recent weeks to be a game-time decision. Come on, Javon.

TAYLOR, HERRERA HAVE THE EAR OF AL DAVIS
Posted by Mike Florio on September 18, 2008, 11:44 a.m.
While the Lane Kiffin termination watch continues, we’ve picked up some interesting details about the current dynamics in the Raiders organization.
As we hear it, Davis currently is consulting with only two members of the organization regarding Kiffin’s fate: Mike Taylor and John Herrera.
Taylor is a media relations exec, and Herrera appears to be a jack of multiple trades, but apparently not a football guy.
It was Herrera, we’re told, who distributed in the press room on Wednesday the ESPN.com article regarding the folly of Kiffin’s decision to air dirty laundry regarding issues with defensive game-planning.
So why do Taylor and Herrera have Al’s ear? Apparently because they’re telling him what he wants to hear. And the strongly-held belief is that both Taylor and Herrera want Kiffin to be kaput.
It’s an aspect of human nature no different than Shawne Merriman’s search for a surgeon who would tell Merriman that he could play without knee surgery. At times, we all pick and choose the folks to whom we’ll listen based on what they’re telling us. And we opt to ignore those who say anything other than that which we want to hear.
Though it’s not publicly known whether others in the organization are of the same mindset as Taylor and Herrera, it’s safe to assume that, if they were, Davis would be talking to them, too. Since he’s only talking to Taylor and Herrera, it’s also safe to assume that the rest of the front office disagrees with what’s happening.
And so, as we understand it, when Kiffin says, “As crazy as it sounds, I know as much as [the media],” he’s telling the truth. The even more amazing part of this is that the rest of the organization, but for Taylor and Herrera, are getting their information from the media as well.
As Kiffin said, it sounds crazy. And that’s because, well, it kind of is crazy.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
Its a damn shame that Mike Taylor, according to PFT, is one of the biggest fire kiffin advocates and there is some 80 + % of of Raider Fans that want to keep kiffin, you have nation collective staging its own grass roots movement and you have a keepkiffin.com getting coverage from the traditional media outlets. I think that it is safe to say that Mike Taylor is an idiot and he has no business running pr for a ‘billion’ dollar company even if it is the Raiders. Jerry who was handing out the copies of espn’s article against kiffin: i bet it was Taylor. He needs to be spinning and minimizing damage not making it worse.

Hell no! I might as well do the deal with thec 4 royal!
September 18th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Mike Taylor and John Herrera need to go. Wasn’3 Herrera running point on the Jamarcus contract: he put Kiffin behind by not bringing Jr in on time, and now he is saying Kiffin gots to go.
One PR guy making bigger waves, and a lead negotiator who has had one of the biggest contract debacles in the NFL over the past ten years. Now I know why they want kiffin gone because they both are incompetent and are trying to mask their own poor prformances.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Mike Taylor is a flunkie who’s been there awhile, totally beholden to Al Davis for his livehood.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
Good for that Oakglenn tho. I’m glad he is showing support for Kiffin and railing on Al. Never heard of the site tho. Maybe I should start my own site: Original Oakglenn, Like all those Original Joes restaurants in SF. MR you should really think about getting your own radio show with the clown. Weasel and the Scumbag. You could probably fill up an hour or so of air time.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
As we age, we become less able to manage several pieces of information at the same time, to filter distracting internal and external stimuli, and to remember what we did and what we have to do. Behavioral studies have carefully described and measured these age-related deficits in working memory, attention, episodic memory, and other cognitive functions (for reviews, see Craik and Salthouse, 2000). A basic issue is whether these various kinds of age-related cognitive deficits have the same common cause or several different causes. Thus far, this issue has been investigated primarily using statistical analyses of behavioral data. In the present study, we approached this problem from the new perspective provided by functional neuroimaging techniques.

Oakland definitely has a task on their hands this weekend. Buffalo’s defensive line is a beast & they have a formidable secondary. They also have a VERY NICE special teams, so our squad MUST be prepared for everything. More importantly, they blitz very well. We may not get near as much success running the ball this week, so Sebastian best to have his kicking game ready to rumble. The defense is going to have to keep the score low.
Javon, as much as he’s been out & injured, he has to show up to pose some type of disadvantage to the receiving corps. Buffalo corners are short, so they will HAVE to defend him. He can be a factor if he plays this week. That will open Zach Miller up a bit too.
We can do this, but we can’t underestimate their offense. Their passing game is not too bad, so our sweet secondary is going to have to make themselves known this week! LETS GO RAIDER NATION!
September 18th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
Something that really cracks me up about the Raiders is how seriously they take themselves in regards to chain of command. When you’re as bad as they are, your number one focus should be winning, not who should be answering to who. I’m glad Kiffin has zero recognition of it. Just focuses on winning and manipulates the system any way he can to get it done. It’s too bad he’ll be gone. We’re going to suffer, big time. Probably 10 straight seasons in last place. We’re at 5 and counting.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:28 pm

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Previous reports have suggested that brain atrophy is associated with aging and that there are gender differences in brain atrophy with aging. These reports, however, neither exclude silent brain lesions in “healthy subjects” nor divide the brain into subregions. The aim of this study is to clarify the effect of gender on age-related changes in brain subregions by MR imaging.
METHODS: A computer-assisted system was used to calculate the brain matter area index (BMAI) of various regions of the brain from MR imaging of 331 subjects without brain lesions.
RESULTS: There was significantly more brain atrophy with aging in the posterior parts of the right frontal lobe in male subjects than there was in female subjects. Age-related atrophy in the middle part of the right temporal lobe, the left basal ganglia, the parietal lobe, and the cerebellum also was found in male subjects, but not in female subjects. In the temporal lobe, thalamus, parieto-occipital lobe, and cerebellum, brain volume in the left hemisphere is significantly smaller than in the right hemisphere; sex and age did not affect the hemisphere differences of brain volume in these regions.
CONCLUSION: The effect of gender on brain atrophy with aging varied in different subregions of the brain. There was more brain atrophy with aging in male subjects than in female subjects.

Your posts make total sense to me. Just proves that if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.
What these fools don’t realize is that in older folks, the short term memory goes first. In Al’s case there’s very little doubt that he suffers a little dementia just like all other elderly people. There a$$ kissing yess’um boss efforts will no doubt be forgotten post haste.

You just responded right there Weasel. There has to be some lame radio station in the Central Valley that would let you spew your ridiculous garbage for an hour or so. You could even have some lame hick music like the Beverly Hillbillies theme or something. “Now speaking of sports it’s Weasel and his sidekick Scumbag!!!” (beverly hillbillies music in background) Altho all you would do is rail on the Raiders and Al Davis and talk about me behind my back.

Brain cells start flushing at age 30. Everyone gets dumber at that age. The higher your IQ, the less it shows. End of story. Cold fact of nature. Whoever said people get wiser with age outright made it up, and is probably old themselves. Face it, most old people you know are retards. And when I say old, I mean 30. That’s the age you start going downhill quick. Go to any supermarket. Anywhere. Just observe. People over 30 are blathering idiots. The one’s with high IQs are the ones that at least come off smart, and are probably the basis for this older=wiser nonsense. Even they aren’t as sharp as they were in their younger years. Al probably does have a high IQ. But he’s still a fraud.
September 18th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
I get the feeling the locker room is behind Ryan for whats its worth and if the players, deep down, think Kiffin has quit on them, then Davis will fire him. Buffalo is not as good as these experts predict, its going to be a close game. Buffalo had to rally to beat a team Tennessee dominated. Kiffin is not the reason this team beat KC, the Raiders just have better players than the Chiefs and its been a long time since a Raider fan could say that.

Even sadder is this theory that guys are suddenly going to become more attractive to women as they get older, because they’ll supposedly have more game, or whatever. That’s the biggest joke ever. This started in the ’90s when Hugh Heffner came out of hiding. Guys figured they can parlay their oldness into being a Lothorio like him. Thing is, Heff was a pimp when he was younger, too. You only get worse as you get older. Plus, he’s rich. Money will always buy you sex. But as far as having game goes? Having that ability to attract women? You hit your peak at 25. No matter who you are.

Offense laid down in second half (one one pass until lucky TD pass.. nice play but was conservative call actually) and Kiffin purposely didn’t use the timeouts so that they couldn’t come back.
Prevent “yourself from wining” defense, too!
The players are trying.. coaches are not! Another long years! Kiffin and The Old man both need to go!
