We did get too cute and it pissed them off. The other excellent point Nnamdi makes is they made plays. We didn't. We had that game in our grasp and gave it away. When they needed a first down, Thigpen busted gains for 20 yards on his own. Look at the ball he threw to Gonzalez on the left boundary on third and 14 in the second half. How do they make that play??? The final third down conversion with CJ all over the reciever. Their guys came down with it. Their guys made the plays over and over. Our guys fumbled the ball without being touched. Our guys couldn't get open. Our guys dropped int's. Our guys got cute on a fake punt and effed sh** up. Russell struggled badly today and at one point his confidence was obviously shaken. Russell needs to really work on his footwork in he offseason it's very sloppy at times. You can't arm the ball in this your mechanics must be sound and his are erratic at best that is the biggest reason for the inconsistency. Lelie's head was not in this game. He ran bad routes several times of which Oak has already mentioned. When that happens the QB starts guessing and that I believe led to Russell loss of confidence. Russell is still leaning on one player way too much. If e would spread the ball around he would be more successful IMO. When Lelie wasn't into the game, Russell continued to go to him when Higgins was beating his man like a drum. Russell must get that fixed. Fargas's fumble killed us I really felt we would win until that happened. Bad timing, horrible play. Just young and inconsistent talent that needs to be molded by an experienced HC.
