Holland promoted; Gandy waived

Wide receiver Jonathan Holland was signed off the practice squad Thursday and will be active for the game, which could mean Ashley Lelie, who missed practice Tuesday and Wednesday because of headaches, may not be available.

To make room, guard Dylan Gandy, signed Nov. 26, was waived.

Wide receiver Ronald Curry (ankle) and Chaz Schilens (ankle, Achillies’ tendonitis) have also been less than 100 percent of late.

More to come later . . .

Vegas, what should I do to protect myself from the impending attack that’s going to happen on Obama’s watch? I’m scared. you seem to really be in control. do you work in a nuclear bunker? You’re acting like the future’s bright and you’re wearing shades. Hello?? Obama won! We’re screwed, dude. Wake up!

Well, fellow Raider warriors, I’m off to the watering hole. I know we’re going to lose because Al Davis sucks and couldn’t build a team if his life depended on it, but you’ve got to stay true to your team. See you guys later! Go Raiders (for whatever it’s worth…).

I’ve been hijacked. This was not me. Anything posted under my name from this point on tonight is not me. F-Off MORON.
    Go Raiders.

  • Exlaraiderseasonticketholder

Look, I’m still a fan. I’m just saying as long as Al is in charge we don’t have a chance. Al’s brain dead, and it’s obvious. But I’m still a fan, still go to home games, and still cheer for this team! That’s all I said. Geez!

  • Bill Pickel

MR’s a hater. I just wish he’d leave. It’s because of fans like him that we’re losing. Imagine how the players feel when they see the lack of support. Al Davis has assembled what is by far the most solid NFL team ever built, yet negative fans drag them down. It’s a sad state of affairs in the Raider Nation.

  • Exlaraiderseasonticketholder

Look, I’m being misquoted left and right in here.

All I’m saying is that Al Davis is brain dead. I’m still a fan, still cheer for the team, as I will be in an hour. But I have no hope in this franchise as long as that demented old bat of an owner is still here. That’s all I said. What’s the big deal? You guys are so immature.

  • NCRaiderFan

Hmm so instead of perhaps the worst raiders receiving corps EVER, its DEFINATELY the worst ever.

The Raider’s are going to kick the cr-p out of my Chargers. They are so mean and tough. I’m really afraid. 45-3 Raiders. Ex was so right. I’m bending over. Give it to me!

  • The Trolling, always has a Al Davis lackey background to it, no?

  • Andrews Mom

NFL network says Mooch should be the next head coach. They are pushing it hard.

  • Ex—I agree completely. Unless Al wakes up and realizes what a mess he has created the Raiders will continue on down the same path. Hiring Harbaugh I think could have been a step in the right direction. With him staying at Stanford I don’t know any fairly young guy with NFL experience who would take the job. Cable can’t be brought back and Fassel would just another retred yes man. The Raiders are so far away from being a playoff team it isn’t even funny. I would put them on par with the KC Royals, LA Clippers and Atlanta Thrashers.

  • It’s always an angry Al Davis lackey. Unable to do anything but bait & troll, defending a defenseless position.

  • vegas raider

bait and troll, is that like bait and switch

We are going to stomp the Chargeless.

  • WAKE UP!

I love Al Davis and his entire organization. He is just misunderstood! He is on the right track and will get the team going to the Super Bowl next year. And I retract what I said about the next NBA Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers.

  • Well, the Moderator likes you Brien, go figure.

  • Considering the Chargers play the Raiders today and the Falcons play the Saints this weekend, who would you guys start in a fantasy league?

Philip Rivers or Matt Ryan? Our only positive right now is our pass D. I am thinking I should start Matt, just incase.

    What do you guys think?

  • Chris in NY

I think Fassel would be the perfect coach for this team.
The Raiders’ success over the next few years rides on the development of JaMarcus. Fassel is second to none at developing QBs. Plus he’s a good overall offensive coach and — out of offense, defense & special teams — that’s the one facet holding the Raiders back right now.

One thing I do like about this team much more than in recent years is that, aside from the Atlanta game, guys really haven’t quit.
Remember Randy Moss? Remember LaMont Jordan? Guys just aren’t blatantly dogging it and caving in when they get punched in the mouth anymore.
It’s nice that guys like Fargas, Howard, Nnamdi, Morrison, Warren and others are now driving the culture of the team instead of quitters like Moss.
We need better coaching, better WRs and a better O-Line. And most importantly, we need JaMarcus to develop into a very good QB.
Otherwise the supporting talent and character of this team are still strong.

JaMarcus catching on could turn this team from bust to boom. The QB position can probably account for about a 14-21 point swing per game, IMO. Picking up 1st downs, turning FGs into TDs, hitting the open deep pass instead of missing it — all that stuff swings a game one way or another. Look at the Cowboys with and without Romo. With him they dominate. Without him they get their doors blown off by St. Louis. Enough said.

  • S&B – Nation Collective

Raider pass defense has been pretty good since deAngelo Hall was replaced by Chris Johnson.

    Start Matt Ryan

  • Chris in NY

I’d start Ryan over Rivers. I don’t think the Raiders have given up a TD pass since CJ replaced D-Hall in the secondary. Saints-Falcons could be a shootout.

  • Brien(MR loves Willie, lol)

Your trash is always on this blog. When you find employment wiping toilets, maybe the blog will clean itself up. lol

  • I think you guys are right. I will leave Ryan to play thins week. Rivers had been paying off, but Ryan gets similar numbers too. So we shall see.
