Did you see the game Al Davis? This was a game of new thinking and ways of attacking, not your warmed over 70's schemes. Both teams got a young, fresh-thinking coach and put talent on the field, something the Raiders with you selection on draft day have been unable to achieve in 25 plus years. Hint: Get a front office person that knows football and let him hire a new coach and let them do the draft selections, since it is obvious that you do not know what the f-ck you are doing. Success will not return to RaiderNation until we change course. If Arizona can go to the big game, why not us? Talent Al, we need talent. Not the over the hill players you keep dumping on us year after year and try to pass off as players. These people are a joke and I personally will not pay to see subpar bullsh-t any longer.

Hire Jim Fassel/Chris in NY Says:
January 26th, 2009 at 9:35 am
Assuming Crabtree is gone, I think the Raiders should definitely take Maclin at No. 7. Think about the playmakers that would give this offense:

RB1: McFadden - Explosive, strong runner and very good receiver
RB2: Bush - Big, strong rusher and excellent receiver
RB3: Fargas - Hard, tough runner with decent speed and a 1,000 yard season in 2007.
WR1: Maclin - Blazing rookie WR with good hands coming off a 100-catch season (in 14 games)
WR2: Schillens - Big, fast target with good hands and a lot of upside
WR3: Higgins - Big-play guy whose great at picking up YAC and one of the best return men in the game
WR4: Shields - A talented WR with a lot of upside if he can stay healthy
TE: Miller - The best young TE in the game

So if we draft Maclin to be a true No. 1 WR, we can focus the rest of the draft and free agency on shoring up the o-line and defense.

^^Taking a WR #1 who does not have the skill set or freak ability of Moss,Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitz and expecting him to be a #1 WR in his rookie season is a futile way of thinking.

Mr Davis makes ALL staffing decisions regarding coaches.
What some of you may not realize is that he does solicit input from various people within and outside of the organization prior to making the decision.

Where Mr Davis has failed us is the 2000 to 2003 drafts. The 2009 draft will have a much greater impact on our team than who the DC or OC will be.
2007 and 2008 drafts were solid. Let's hope for the same in 2009.(No WR before round four).

Come on Man,

It was widely reported that Kiffin hired his offensive assistants. You can call that assumptions if you would like, I really don't care.

Inside Bay Area: Kiffin hires two for Raiders

New Raiders coach Lane Kiffin has made his first hires by tabbing USC graduate assistant Yogi Roth as an offensive assistant and one-time USC director of football operations Mark Jackson for a front-office role, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Kiffin still is waiting to hear back from Greg Knapp on whether he intends to accept an offer to become the Raiders offensive coordinator and from Tom Cable on whether he wants the Raiders offensive line post.
