Some wonderlic info on the WR’s:

“…Wide receivers: NFL teams would like for receivers’ test scores to be about 18, but several of the top prospects fell below that mark.

Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech scored 15, Darrius Heyward-Bey of Maryland scored 14, Percy Harvin of Florida scored 12 and Hakeem Nicks of North Carolina scored 11.

Jeremy Maclin of Missouri was outstanding by comparison with a 25 test score…”

Does any Raider fan living in the Bay Area know why the Raiders banner is torn down in front of the Coliseum? There are 2 pieces still hanging from the sides so it looks to be vandalized. The A’s banner hanging next to it isn’t touched.

CNN was just showing black people in Oakland celebrating the police that were killed,..do you feel those people who are all high-fiving each other in the streets of Oakland are people you would like to have as friends?…thank God CNN is showing the entire free world just what is going on in Oakland…black people in the streets of Oakland celebrating cops being killed.

  • http://www,oakland.com Reality Check

Still Time,..probably vandalism,…but hey its better then being murdered,..and in Oakland, thats a daily event,..actually wouldnt even call it an event,..the civilized people of northern Ca should ask the governer to build a huge cement wall around the city of Oakland,…easily the most disgusting part of California,..as a Raider fan, I pray they pack up and leave,..I will never go to a game in that hell hole.

Fargas is the reason that Bush didn’t see enough of the field. Kiffin played Fargas and when Kiffin was removed Cable in his infinite wisdom did the same.

mistabrown, i wouldn’t be calling anyone names if I was you. You the dummass of the blog.

  • Raider O

When you have 2 RBs making a lot of money like DMC and Fargas, it’s hard to cut their playing time for a player that makes the league minimum.Fargas had a big contract (3yrs 14 mil), and DMC was the 4th pick of the 08 draft. Again, any coach in the NFL will tell you, you don’t pay a player all that money to sit on the bench. Bush got his chance when DMC and Fargas got hurt. He showed enough that the raiders asked Fargas to take a pay cut I’d get released. Bush will get a lot more playing time this year.

mistabrown you are really really dumb. If I say that it is not mistabrown, it’s some idiot, that is not the same as saying mistabrown is an idiot. I know some of these words like “not” are very hard to understand but try. LMFAO

    Ok lets talk football!

With Rob Ryan in Cleveland our defense should be able to finish #31 or higher. The Browns will have 32 sewn up.

    Or

Rob was Al’s puppet and The Browns finish in the top 10.

What do you 2 idiots think ?

Several news sources including the Miami Herald are reporting that the Raiders just acquired starting tackle from the Miami Dolphins, Samson Satele, for an undisclosed draft pick.

Excuse me. Starting Center, not tackle. Basically the Raiders and Dolphins just swapped Centers.

I’m actually excited about today’s win. We didn’t go out there like it was 1967 and try to throw the ball 40 times and run it 5 times, the way Al Davis likes to.
    ———————————————

Actually in 1967 the Raiders were number one in the league in passing and number three in the league in rushing. That’s a balanced offense. Almost every Succesful Raider team was that way. Even in the 1967 Super Bowl loss they ran the ball over 20 times. Once again, maddenraider just pulls stuff out of his azz and hopes no one knows the difference.

    at least he stays healthy…

lets hope its nothin more then a 6th or 7th round pick, for a solid back up

  • La Milicia Negra

for a former 2nd rounder? and was drafted in ’07, cantstandthehaters, i hope you are right.. though i doubt it..

  • Sanji

Apparently, this is a 6th round pick.

That means it ain’t a bad deal according to his age + the fact that he don’t have health issues + the fact that he’ll probably be better in the ZBS.

    A good move I believe.

  • cantstandtheHATERS

LMN, i can see Parcells doin his ol friend Al a favor since they got Grove for free…

“Green was reportedly arrested while waiting to board an airplane to Oakland on Saturday. The 32-year-old former Tampa Bay Buccaneers lineman is being held without bail, according to jail records.

According to police, Green allegedly ”slammed” Teriyonal Flowers against a wall before hitting her with the mop handle at least once on the right arm at their home in Tampa.

Green left the scene following the domestic incident, but police became aware of his plans to catch a flight and arrested him at Tampa International Airport.”

  • Tommy Trojan

If we got Satele for a 2nd rounder or less then we got a STEAL!!! Satele is already one of the top 10 Cs in the NFL and better than Mack is likely (operative word) to ever be. Parcells either isn’t as smart as everyone credits him as being or there are scheme concerns with Parcell’s “throwback” (stone age) philosophies.

Our C concerns are over with.

now we can move on to…

    OT
    WR
    DT
    DE
    LB
    S

In that order of significance, ideally, but as long as we at least attempt to address them…

Make no mistake, Satele will be looked back on as one of the highlights of a pretty solid offseason.

    STEAL!!!

Jmac missed these types of “touch” passes on a consistent bases through-out the 1st 10 or 12 games. In Jmac’s defence he started 2 hit these passes and we can expect Jmac 2 RIP IT UP!!! =)

Where are you getting the info that we got Satele for a 6th? Got a thread?
Miami fans seem to think it’s for a 2nd and they’re busy laughing at Al.

  • Not all Raider fans are Delusional

ya if this is a deal for a 6th or 7th then I will be quite pleased with our most recent addition. If we shipped a 3rd or higher this deal isn’t looking all that great. It should be interesting to see what we gave up. I’m thinking Miami just wanted to move a starting center contract since they just gave another one to Grove. That would likely mean we’re looking at a 6th or 7th. Which isn’t bad.

  • http://contracostatimes NoMoreFargas

4eva I hope , at the end of the year j-russ was much better on the short dump offs but man that guy has a lazer in the redzone he makes plays!
Was watching the Chaz highlight clips guys turbo and big!

  • Not all Raider fans are Delusional

regardless of what we gave up we now have a center on the roster getting paid starter $$. This does make It less likely that we go Mack/Unger in the draft if they are there with our #40 pick. It’s not out of the question just less likely, at least both can play guard because if one of them us picked that’s likely where they’ll play in Oakland to start with.

  • Not all Raider fans are Delusional

    Info on Samson Santele
SF Chronicle reporting we gave up a 6th rounder for him.

60th overall pick in 2007 draft of of Hawaii.

    Signed a 4 yr $2.89 million contract in 2007.

Started at C for Miami as a rookie but reportedly had trouble with large NTs. Can play guard as well and was projected to move to guard in Miami. Definatly more of a ZBS guy than a Parcells mauler.

If all this is accurate the Raiders just made an excellent move adding depth to C and G while inheriting a reasonable contract. Santele will fit in better here than Miami and we still have the flexibility to get a top flight C in the draft. Nice work again Al great offseason.

    ENGLANDRAIDER

On most Dolphins forum, fans are complaining on how they will be upset for a 6th rounder but here’s the facts :

    - The Dolphins traded away a 7th pick to the Jaguars and want it (or a higher pick) back.
    - There’s no way a futur back up center is going to be worth a 4th.
    - The Raiders already don’t have any 5th rounder this year.

Considering that, a 6th rounder is the deal.

    Report: Raiders trade for center

The Raiders traded an undisclosed draft pick for Dolphins center Samson Satele, the Miami Herald reported citing two unnamed sources Sunday night.

Satele, the team’s second-round draft pick in 2007, started all 32 games as a Dolphin but became dispensable when the Dolphins signed former Raiders center Jake Grove earlier this month.

Both players are very similiar in size — both weigh 300 pounds, but Satele is an inch shorter. For all intents and purposes, it looks like the Dolphins got Grove and a pick for Satele.

From the sounds of it, Satele waas nimble enough but apparently stuggled with the big nose tackles of the AFC East. Not what Raider fans want to hear after years of complaining about how Grove was too small and not tough enough to stick to players like San Diego’s Jamal Williams.

So, at first blush, this doesn’t look like a terribly good deal for Oakland if only because they’re the ones giving up a draft pick in the player swap. Given Grove’s knee troubles, time will tell. If the report holds, they’ll at least have addressed the gaping hole at center — and no, John Wade and Chris Morris were not the answer.

More to come at a more decent morning hour …

    -David White (SF Chronicle)

As much as I love to see my fellow Islanders playing for the Raiders, don’t know if I like this one. I mean, he was okay while blocking for Colt Brennan 2 years ago, but…if we had to give up a pick for him, that wasn’t good…wasn’t good at all!
