My wife is in San Diego as we speak…she’s going to bring it back and kill everyone in South Dakota.
    On purpose? LOL

No offense, but I once dated this gal from South Dakota and when I asked her what she liked most about the state.
She said: The view in my rear view mirrow as I left.

Does anybody think Gradkowski is sick to death of Jeff Garcia? I bet Gradkowski thought once he left the Buccaneers, “Oh Thank God. I finally get away from Jeff to make a name for myself.” And then BOOM!, Jeff Garcia walks in the door. Haha. Gradkowski, “SonOfABitch”.

    Dakota,

I used to hunt, and I can’t do it anymore.

    I can fish now.

    ********************

What do you mean you “can’t” hunt anymore O?? Why?

    Gotta get out there.

  • http://atm Raider O

I dont see Arman and maybe Bowie making the Roster.

    Bowie due to miller.

I also can’t see the Raiders having 9 LBs on their Roster.

  • 24

Could we all be in the movie, “The Stand”. Everyone should go rent the movie “The Stand” by Stephen King. Its a 4 part movie. Its really long. Not only is the world coming to an end on 12/21/12 but maybe we’ll have 4 years of hell and this is the 1st step before the sh!t hits the fan? Better read your bible for some answers haha.

    24,

I am thinking they will keep Alston and place the least polished out of Slade, Frantz or Stryker on the practice squad.

I am hoping that they find a trade partner for Burgess, maybe some 2010 picks from a team with desperate pass-rushing needs. Then they can keep Gunheim, Shaughnessy, Scott and J-Rich at DE.

  • 24

Raider O – I think Arman has a chance to be on the roster but he could definately end up on the practice squad. I think Arman might even beat out Murphy believe it or not. I think Bowie could be the next Sam Williams. He stays just because of the Moss trade if for no other reason. You see…the linebacker thing is tricky because all 3 of our DE draft picks played LB/DE so 1 will stay at DE and the other 2 will play LB. Condo stays because hes the long snapper and Ekejuiba is our special teams ace. The Wild Card is Frantz because he looks great on tape but he may not make it since he came in undrafted but I thought he might be the surprise to stay.

  • 4evaRaider

    he gets mastodon flu

  • 24

BART – Thats a good possibility regarding the linebackers. I honestly hope we keep Burgess now because we don’t have anybody better than him in my opinion. Considering hes got 1 year left on his contract, I’m hoping he has 16 sacks this next season and if he sucks again, fuk it, he won’t be with us anymore but I’d rather take advantage of his 1 year deal at this point and get lucky.

Being a Republican, you must understand the limitations of strict ideology, and it’s effect on losing. There’s more to life than Tax-cuts & 40yd dash times.

Wow, out of left-field a little Kool? First off, not a Republican, just not in the corner of the liberal agenda being spread around these days. But yes, pigeon-holing an ideology is never going to work consistantly.

    Raccoon,

I can’t kill animals now. Last time I hunted I got really bad feeling, and then I was blessed with my daughter and I just list mydrive for hunting.

I was a good Rabbit hunter, but now I find myself saving them from the neighbors cats. lol

    I’m a different man bro, and I don’t I like it. lol

  • ENGLANDRAIDER

We don’t really even know what Shields can do yet but I see what you men Raider O. Murphy is solid. I think he’s going to compete.

It’s always risking starting rookies but Miller started right away.

There’s a good chance that Cable starts both Myers and Mitchell.
We really need a good blocking TE to spell Miller and it could be Mitchell and Branch out there starting. I don’t think it’s going to be Branch and Huff as safeties.
Huff would have a hard time doing that anyway unless he commutes since they’re actively trying to trade him.
From what I hear, they’re still trying to trade both Fargas and Huff-maybe as a package.

  • alisgod

I know we’ve been talking alot about MLB Morrison and Frantz. Here is what was written about Morrison coming out of college. He was timed at 4.7 and Frantz is around there as well. Both are around the same 240lbs range. The more I watch the tube of Frantz the more I want him to be our starting MLB.
    —————————-

“He was more instinctive as a junior,” Nawrocki wrote. ” . . . He’s a program guy and will do everything you want, but whether his physical skills match up at the next level is a question he has yet to answer.”

That question wasn’t entirely clarified at last month’s NFL Scouting Combine. Although he participated in the bench press and linebacker drills, Morrison opted not to run the 40-yard dash or take part in a number of other drills because he was recovering from the flu.

When he did run the 40 at SDSU’s pro day March 19, Morrison was clocked in 4.72 seconds. Florida’s Channing Crowder, widely considered the best inside linebacker in the draft, was timed in 4.71.

  • http://atm Raider O

    what you mean

George Bush was trying to enforce the borders up against Mexico and now the biggest virus around the globe has come from Mexico. Interesting.

  • SnB Defense

    24,

Arman Shields or Javon Walker is outta here.

John Bowie is on borrowed time

Still don’t see two FBs on the roster come game time this year. Griffin could catch and O’Neal needed development time….but with Griffin gone, O’Neal is the guy…they may keep a 2nd guy if there are injury concerns

  • CRACKRAIDER

And there there were six UFAs

The Raiders signed Boise State tight end Chris O’Neill, the school announced on its website.

Also, they reportedly gave a contract to Southern Utah wide receiver Nick Miller, according to that school’s website.

One day, perhaps the Raiders will let their own website make similar announcements. In time.

O’Neill had 21 catches for 254 yards and three touchdowns before breaking his foot last season.

A Moraga native, O’Neill went to Miramonte High.

Miller (5-9, 175) is a Michigan State transfer who led the nation in all-purpose yards last season. He broke his own school record with 993 yards on 43 kick returns and caught 55 passes for 763 yards and three touchdowns.

Most telling, he ran a sub-4.3-second 40 at his pro day, according to his school’s website.

“I’m excited,” Miller said at the said website. “It’s a dream come true for me. The Raiders love speed, they don’t care about size as much as speed. They like to throw the ball and stretch the field, which is perfect for me since those are my biggest strengths: my speed and my ability to get down the field. I still have to go try out and make the team, but this is the first step.”

For those interested, check out my take on the Raiders’ draft on NFL Network’s Path to the Draft (3:30 p.m. Pacific time, reruns to follow).

Then, I’ll be on Chronicle Live (overshadowed by an satellite appearance of Darrius Heyward-Bey) at 5 p.m. live and 11 p.m. on tape on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

As for the other UFAs, they are Harvard defensive tackle Desmond Bryant, Florida Atlantic middle linebacker Frantz Joseph, BYU linebacker David Nixon and Kent State receiver Shawn Bayes.

  • http://atm Raider O

I like Arman a lot too, but we can only have so many WRs on the Roster.

1- Walker: the only vet in this group
    2- DHB: 1st RD pick
3- JLH: best Slot WR we have
4- Chaz: played well last year, and has the size and speed Al likes
5- L Murphy: a 1st day talent that can be great for depth Now, will get his chance later

Now if you think we will have 6 on the roster then maybe Arman, but I would rather have another vet like Ashley.

  • 24

The thing I got from watching the Frantz video was his attitude. He didn’t seem to hesitate or be afraid to just shove his whole body into an offensive lineman with brute force. Thats what I like about the guy. That shows toughness. Thats what I like about Mitchell as well. He just runs right through you. I know thats tough because I had a hard time doing that personally because mentally, I’m too freakin nice. I was more about going after the ball. The people who can run through you are the people who lack heart but have the passion and Mitchell has that. Now…will he be good in the NFL, I have no idea.

  • SnB Defense

The Raiders offense should be something to watch if they build on last year and Khalif and Mario hold up their ends of the bargin…

Pound the ball up the middle and around the edge

Use the RBs on screens and in the flats

Miller underneath and JLH run and catch on those slants and crossing routes

And have Schilens and “The D-HB” punish safeties deep

  • http://www.flickr.com/photos/skew-t/166654980/ BART Bridge Blues

Yeah, I assume if there are no blockbuster trade offers for Burgess then he would easily beat out some of these guys in camp, but I really like Gunheim, and the coaches (Cable) seem to like his effort and motor. That will be a tough decision, I think the DE position makes or breaks our defense this season. Marshall needs to get more consistent run-stopping effort from the two starters, whoever they are.

SnB – I honestly don’t see Shields being gone but I’ll agree that he could end up on the practice squad. Do you think Shields is gone because he might have been Kiffin’s guy? Shields already has a leg up on the offense over DHB and Murphy because hes been around the system for a year so he should be ahead of those guys and DHB isn’t going anywhere so I think Murphy would be the one to go. I don’t see Walker going anywhere. This team desperately needs a veteran and Walker gives us that for now.

For all we know, Bowie is the next Asomugha because he has been quiet just like Asomugha was back in the day and before he suddenly became a Pro Bowler. Nobody expected it. I’m not a Stanford Routt fan so I would hope Bowie is good enough to take his job.

Keeping 1 FB is risky if you want to have a power running game. If that FB goes down, you’ve lost that essential piece to power block in front of the runner.

I faxed the starting lineup on offense to Almeda

    QB: Russell
    HB: DMAC/Bush
    FB: O’Neal
    X-WR:”The D-HB”
    Y-WR: Schilens
    Z-WR: JLH
    TE: Miller
    LT: Henderson
    LG: Gallery
    C: Satele
    RG: Carlisle
    RT: Barnes

Javon Walker, Justin Fargas and Jeff Garcia are only to start if there is an injury or the score is out of hand

    Hi Jerry.
Your siesta must be over by now. How about an update on all these people were picking since tghe draft.

    Thankyou Jerry.

24…exactly right. Our LB’s and safeties seem to wait for the runner rather than go at them. I dont care if you weight 260lbs, if a 200lb is at full speed while you’re flat footed, you will go backward. Mitchell and Frantz are full speed nasty hitters. I hope they make a bunch of plays in camp. Can’t wait.

  • http://justwinbaby! 909RaiderLifer

    For what it’s worth.

Caught Jim Trotter on BSPN 1st Take this morning, talking about Mike Mitchell. Said he had talked to “several” coaches around the League, who told him that Mitchell has the tools to be All-Pro.

Would love to see Kiper and that other D-Bag have to eat some crow in a year or two.

  • SnB Defense

    24,

Shields was gone when they signed Louis Murphy. There is no room for Shields anymore. Shields is now the 6th receiver…5th at best if Walker is cut. But Murphy has a similiar profile to Shields…

As for FB….they will have Lawton or Reese on the practice squad in the event of an injury

  • http://media-2.web.britannica.com/eb-media/63/60563-004-52A399D4.jpg Dakota

That Frantz video was impressive, hopefully he can make the team.

  • http://snotmerch.com/ Lynn from Snot

Now we have a blocking TE , Miller will be free to catch more passes and give us another weapon .

  • 24

Alisgod – Yeah…this camp could have alot of injuries. Our coaches will probably need to tell these guys to stop hurting our own players haha.

SnB – Its easy to be wrong but I just think Shields has a better chance than Murphy. It will be good competition for the both of them, thats for sure.

  • http://www.actionext.com/playlist_57486.html La Milicia Negra

well that dont help much to the discussion… I claim Morrison is good in the pass-game and gets whiffed around in the run-game, and is more suited for a OLB job in the 4-3… if we played 3-4 he would be better for the ILB job…

If him and Frantz reminds of eachother it does NOT help us stopping the run…

sadly, but i hope Frantz will be able to be the proper ILB we sorely need…
