Burgess is just taking up a roster spot and is getting in the way of younger players who have potential and need playing time to grow and develop into solid NFL starters at DE. not oft-injured situational pass rushers

D-Burg is stealing time away from Scott, Shaughnessy, Gunheim, Sulak & Gray.

Richardson started opposite him and is injured right now. Doesn’t really have an impact on J-Rich …

If Rowen has been responsible for some of this off-season, then I am happy to have him aboard. A de-facto GM that Al trusts and Cable trusts would be HUGE. Let’s hope that the relationship between these 3 doesn’t sour like most of Al’s business relationships

Somebody posted previously that giving Burgess away for magic beans didn’t make sense, but sometimes the beans work. The fact is Burgess doesn’t want to be here so his value is less to us anyway. I know it sticks in the threoat when you trade away and the guy really plays for the other team, but they were unlike;y to play that hard for the original team. Even if he were to stay, how committed is he? Last year of a contract with one last pay day left in his career? He’d be looking elsewhere anyway. Sometimes you just have to take what you can get. I’ll take anything from 2-5 for Burgess. That IMO is best we could hope for.
