Asomugha at OTA

Nnamdi Asomugha, who did not participate in the Raiders’ last OTA, was present and accounted for Tuesday, according to the club’s Twitter page.

Quarterback Charlie Frye, signed Monday, also got in his first work as a Raider.

Wow, there was actually some decent talk in here last night. Staying positive on JRuss. Someone made a good comment about about “had we started Mario instead of ‘worst of all time’ Harris, and Chaz instead of Curry”…etc…that we probably could have won at least 8 games. That is probably true. the Buffalo and the Miami game could have gone either way also…so…

  • GM all,

It appears the mod removed the most obnoxious posts from last night, leaving a handful of insightful comments and predictable bickering from the usual suspects.

Someone saw Turdell smoking? Bummer there. In the OTA pics he is looking a bit slimmer. We need a “fit” Turdell to stay stout in the 4th quarter!

I was thinking kind of like this…

Jamarcus gets up at 05:00, runs a couple of miles, gets back and lifts until 07:00, hits the playbook while grabbing some breakfast, makes it to work by 08:00 where he lifts again and watches a couple of hours of film before heading out to the field. Stretches and runs a lap, goes thru about 1.5 hours of plays, back to the film room for lunch and studies with Hackett and Garcia. Comes back out at 13:00 and works with the receivers until 16:30, heads back in for a 1 hour review with the coaches and receivers then hits the showers. Heads home for dinner and more film study until about 22:00. Then his phone rings and his buddies want to know if he wants to go to a party because it’s Friday night and he’s worked his ass off all week. He reluctantly agrees, shows up to the party kinda late, has a few drinks, hangs with his buddies but is ready to leave because he’s just beat from the week, decides to pose for a couple of pix with his friends and BAM, everyone in the country calls him a bust and this blog self implodes!!!

    just curious…

Duh, the latter! There will be no sequel to last night’s screening of Kobe: Playin’ Weak.

    8. I think if I were a boss in the media — TV, Web site, radio — I’d look long and hard at giving Bill Kuharich a job for the fall. First off, I should say I’ve been a longtime fan of Kuharich’s work scouting pro players; he’s relentlessly honest (when he is allowed to speak by his superiors) when judging players and appraising teams. The other day, Bob Papa and I had Kuharich on our Sirius show, and he said two interesting things. Regarding the Chargers, he said, “I think they’re going to continue to go backwards.” Regarding JaMarcus Russell, he said: “You can’t live up to the billing of being the No. 1-pick in the draft. But I see him growing. Very physical, very strong arm, and his accuracy is improving. I see him learning to manage the game better. I don’t know if he’ll ever be in the Dan Marino category, but he’ll be a good, functioning NFL quarterback.”

    ———-

you guys say what you say but i saw enough improvement from JaMarcus to say i couldnt agree more with this guy.

and once our franchise finally gets to now his surroundings, feels comfortable, at home, cause i think he is the type that just needs more time from a social perspective towards the media/fans in general (not the lockerrom/huddle or coaches), i got no doubt he will be a winner. in appropriate time….

i believe totally in JaMarcus. he will do his part…

  • The Orlando Mice had to shoot 62% AT HOME, and still rely on Kobe missing FTs to barely win that game. Twas the epitome of anomaly.

  • Bo, you better be right about that….I am holding you personally responsible for the outcome of the series!

  • Good morning Gents.

Kobe played great the 1st half (8/11), but was really bad in the 2nd 3/12!!

    I wanted Kobe vs. James!

Haha…I think the NBA told Kobe to cool it and make the series last…5 missed free throws? Really? Especially when he was fouled at the 3 point arc? I think Kobe will get it back together and win on Thursday…

  • I hate the Lakers, I don’t Like Kobe, phil, Bus, and their colors.

  • CantstandtheHaters

lakers took 14 more shots for the same amount of FG (40) and had six more rebounds on offense. i think thats why it looks a little wierd.

plus the lakers did not that bad with shooting 51% so with Kobe missing 5 of 10 from the line became the factor.

  • M Lonetree

Perhaps the spirit of Nick Anderson has been mentoring Kobe about shooting free throws during the finals in Orlando.

  • exlaraiderseasonticketholder

If the Laker’s had mugged Howard like they did Kobe, there would have been technicals called all night. The Magic were allowed to get away with holding and fouling Kobe all night long. To Kobe’s credit he did not complain. It is Jackson’s duty to complain and he in his Zen Master way he did not.
    Laker’s in 6

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I can handle that. But the Raiders season is on you…

  • hwnrdr

Yeah, that was a big factor…and Luke Walton not knowing how to pass, and…ok, ok…

  • hwnrdr

I will take Lakers in 6 if they win game 4. If they don’t, but win game 5 instead, then somehow I see a game 7.

  • Nnamdi will be on NFL/ TA today, don’t forget to watch.

  • exlaraiderseasonticketholder

I cringe every time Walton is in the game! LOL

  • exlaraiderseasonticketholder

Dwight Howard because the NBA wants him to be a Superstar is allowed to charge without calls and the Magic is allowed to take 3 1/2 steps. What ever became of walking, palming and traveling. LOL

  • M Lonetree

    BoSJack,

I laughed when I read that Dakota had put the future safety of his living room fixtures and walls in your hands when he declared you responsible for the outcome of the NBA finals.
Even better is your making him responsible for the upcoming Raider season.

  • OAKlifer

    CantstandtheHaters,

If you dnt mind me asking whats the name of ur show!!

  • M Lonetree

    ExLA,

when Michael Jordan stuck his tongue out to the world he could palm the ball, travel, push off or hook to any degree he wished as the NBA wanted to promote him.

nothing new by letting someone else they wish to promote allowed to get away with things.

  • OAKlifer

hell they must have wanted to promote the entire Houston Rocket team well at least Ming!!! They were able to play Street ball “no blood no foul” for all the Portland games!!!!!!!

  • NoMoreFargas

    Mitchell/Branch Nhamdi/Johnson
    hell anybody an Nhamdi!

Deal…expectations are very low for the Raiders…look how fans started clinging to Tom Cable after he went 4-8 with some of the most embarrassing losses in team history, just because he beat Houston and a very bad TB team at the end of the season, lol. If we go 6-10 I am golden on this one!

The standard of success is whether Cable keeps his job. Make it so!

  • But I think Cable is a joke….

  • …doesn’t matter, I’ll take responsibility…and then we’ll get rid of Mr. Tom Cable the next year.
