You lost me with 194 Oak …
I don’t get that post at all.
Not sure how our DTs being solid, and VW being on his way out of NE are contradicting.
I’d say we wouldn’t be having this discussion if some of you would realize where the real issue lie with the run defense. You know, the one the COACHES have identified?
not a big morrison fan?? just ask Al he’s FAST!!LOL
They both said they expect big things from him, cited his pass-catching ability and 4.5 ypc. But let’s not let your hater-aid get in the way of about the most positive thing any national media said about the Raiders in 6 months.
What’s up Dude? I forgot to ask you, do you know Muse? We talked about music a few times, and ialqays forget to ask you.
I love their music, been a fan for about 6yrs now! Great music!
Vegas…HOW ‘BOUT THEM LAKERS!!!!!!
Hate ‘em. Love Bill Simmons and hate the Lakers, but the article he wrote a few days was awful, I’ll give you that.
400 calls!!!! My best record was 350+!!! My avg is close to 200 per day.
I don’t get paid to make calls, I get paid to sell.
400!!! Crazy!!! Do you talk to anyone!!!

The days of teams having to make hard decision on whether or not to keep a great player are over…all the good ones are kept in house.
Really? none of these guys are worth anything? I’d LOVE for the Raiders to have gotten their hands on any of these players (and thats only A-E of the free agent list!)
RRS, I said great players and you give me this list? LMFAO. The only one that comes close is Jason Brown, and he is more of a potential guy than a great player at this point.
You can’t be talking about the Kobe changed article?
That was one of his best pieces. He was dead on about the Kobe overkill and the different angles that could have been pursued instead.
But what else can you expect from BSPN?
Totally agreed with the point he made about PJ giving Kobe that “married” look at the end of game 2. Tell me you weren’t ?ing that “look” from PJ when it actually happened? LOL! You just couldn’t explain that facial expression and non reaction to Kobe slapping the chair. That was classic!
Brother, in post 194 i was saying
if our line is a “soild group” then why are we having this conversation?
just like you where saying:
“but if he was remotely the player some of you think he was then why is he on his way out of NE?”
I’m just sayin the to convo’s kinda counterdict them selves….
I geuss What I’m asking is why are we even mulling Brace, wilfork, or any other DT out there if we are SOLID at that spot we wouldnt!! hence this convo is counterdicting…he is an upgrade of talent on our roster imho he is better than all our DT’s
Those are the long days, O, stricly prospecting. Don’t usually close on first call anyways. I get to the point, when you make an investment decision what do you usually start with 100K?, “No”, on to the next call.
The little guys are the ones who complain, file stuff and take up all your time. The wealthier the easier they are to work with.
If you want guys that shoot themselves in the leg, stomp on people’s heads, can’t cover in man to man, are over the hill, care more about money than winning, get beat up in Vegas, have had major knee injuries, or have major holes in their games…then free agency is the place to shop!
I think Al learned that lesson the hard way last year.
LOL!! I just watched it, not 45 mints ago. They did talk about his catching ability and mentioned his YPC but as I said, it was a “who is less likely to be a bust segment” and NEITHER said to expect big things.
As far as the hater thing, DMC is one of the guys on the club I really like so, nice try.
not heard much of them they are a rock band from th U.K. no???
I wil check it out!!
Side note I partied w/ Mistah FAB the other day!!!!
No this is not like billy bob claiming to hang out with legends!!!LMAO!! He was a record release party I was invited to!!! it was fun!!! you like the bay hip-hop???
duder what up bro????
Dude your a hater, you would love nothing more than for Jamarcus to be a huge flop so you can puff out your chest and say told you so.
I’m actually NOT mulling bringing anyone in.
Sands is my favorite player on the team, and our DTS are as solid of a group in the league!
I’m looking for a 90 jersey this weekend!
U.S. Military Set to Intercept North Korean Ship Suspected of Proliferating Missiles, Nukes
Friday, June 19, 2009
The U.S. military is planning to intercept a flagged North Korean ship suspected of proliferating weapons material in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution passed last Friday, FOX News has learned.
The USS John McCain, a navy destroyer, will intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official. The order to inderdict has not been given yet, but the ship is getting into position.
The ship left a port in North Korea Wednesday and appears to be heading toward Singapore, according to a senior U.S. military source. The vessel, which the military has been tracking since its departure, could be carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear materials, a violation of U.N. Resolution 1874, which put sanctions in place against Pyongyang.
The USS McCain was involved in an incident with a Chinese sub last Friday – near Subic Bay off the Philippines.
This could really turn into some bad stuff!
Yes sir, they are from the UK, and they have great music! IMHO
I like Cali rap, the Game, mitchy, little Mitchy, Tony Y, and others.
I like Mista FAB, is he Odd and funny like his videos??!

Honestly, I’d rather have one of their draft picks for Burgess than Wilfork. Our current group of DTs could absolutely be called solid. Get those guys a 4th DT in the rotation…………………\
I must have misconstrude that comment my bad…
I like sands as well but with his track record and record whieght…….wilfork is a better option
You look at as a #s game correct? The more you call, the more you will close!
I can’t do that, that’s why I hate phone sales. I don’t see your facial expressions, body language, etc…. I’m a closer, not a sales man.
Like I said…Why let the facts get in the way of a good story?
I know you did not say the Raider DTs were as soilid a group as there is. Unless I missed the sarcasm
Yes it could be bad stuff. Especially when you have a weak Pres going around apologizing to Dictators for the USA.

Dude, please find one regular commenter who does not think you take pleasure in Raider missteps. Until then, we will trust out concerted opinion more than your “story” that you are a fan.
are you kidding me? Sands is a huge waste of space and he punched Shane Lechler – our most consistant and productive player
I don’t ever want to hear you complain when I say that Michael Huff deserves another shot to start at FS
The Titans wanted to re-sign Albert Haynesworth. They just weren’t willing to pay $50 million guaranteed! The Titans were so upset with the speed that Haynesworth signed with Washington that they went ahead and filed TAMPERING CHARGES!
As for Vince Wilfork. The Patriots have to manage their cap. They will have to re-sign Tom Brady next year. Right now he is paid less than all the rookie draft picks the last 4 years, Matt Cassell, Peyton Manning and others. How much is he going to get? They also have to pay Richard Seymour, Logan Mankins. Not to mention having guys like Moss and Welker on the roster.
So they have to make difficult choices. YOU CAN’T PAY EVERYBODY! Wilfork is a great player who is going to command a high salary. THe Pats have to make a decision. Has nothing to do with talent or what they think of him. That’s why they drafted Ron Brace! Unlike here, some teams PROACTIVELY plan for the future!
Perhaps if the Raiders didn’t GROSSLY overpay Tommy Kelly, the Pats could re-sign their nose tackle.
For the $ we’d have to pay Wilfork on top of what we are paying Kelly, Warren, and Sands … I just can’t warm up to Wilfork. The scenario and timinig just isn’t right for Wilfork, IMO.
I like the guys we have, and would like to add a 4th guy, a young guy in next years draft.
Mistabrown: did you see those Gitmo detainees walking around Bermuda eating ice cream after being released last week? sickening! probably thinking “stupid americans”
Not kidding at all RRS!
GO DLine IN 09!
And you won’t hear me complain about Huff. I have him penciled in as the starting FS.
I admire your confidence in the DTs play in the face of overwhelming evidence that suggests the contrary.
Go get that Sands jersey and hope he makes the roster.
Here’s the bottom line. The Raiders don’t value D-Lineman and there strategy is to focus on pass defense and GET BY on run defense. No problem with the strategy as long as the offense scores a bunch of points.
Look at the draft. They pick up pass rushers and defensive backs. The two LBs they drafted are known more for their pass coverage and speed and not so much for their toughness. The Raiders have not spent a 1st day draft pick on a stout DE, run-stopping LB or DT in years.
They rely on long-shots UFAs like Franz Joseph, Ricky Brown, Tommy Kelly or free agent longshots like 7th round pick NFL Europe refugee (and twice cut) Terdell Sands. Gerard Warren was a castoff from Denver (and spare me the “defensive philosophy changed in Denver B.S”
The Raiders are a finesse defense. Not a smash mouth, physical, win in December type of defense.
Hell, you’d think the Raiders played in a Dome…..That’s how the team is built….with the exception of Michael Bush, who had to bully his way into the lineup!
Bo S Jax,
Ask me if I care. Really, go ahead, ask.
You got the right mentality for your line of work, that’s why you are probably doing well. I was looking for quality not quantity. I was looking for the dough, and “seeded” the people on the initial cold-call. People are skeptical on phone sales, so the chance of closing on the cold call were slim to none anyways, I would move for an appointment as my “close” if things went well.
Harvest came early!!!!! Huff at FS!!
Jhill, your take on the DTs is just silly. Explain your thoughts please.
Michael Huff is diggity diggity diggity DONE my friend!
You don’t go and reach 3 rounds to draft Mike Mitchell if you have confidence in a former 7th overall draft pick. Michael Huff is still struggling.
Tom Cable benched him the first chance he could for Hiram Eugene. In fact, Rashad Baker was getting more time.
Huff is DONE unless there is a miracle in camp. Starters will be Eugene and Branch in the two safety system with Mike Mitchell taking over by the end of the year.
Jhill: the problem with our DT’s is we have 3 or 4 UT guys and only 1 NT. Kelly, Warren, Joseph & Boschetti are not NT’s. Not solid run stuffers who occupy 1 or more OL and allow our other DT and LB to come in and hit a RB behind the LOS
Sands is the only NT and he’s very inconsistant. He might have one big game and follow it up with 10 terrible ones. often disappears. gets beat down by smaller, more aggressive OL (not just the mammoth OL or pro bowlers) …
If we’re going to pay Kelly all that money and expect him to become one of the best DT’s in the game – fine. But we’re going to need a NT next to him to make his job easier. Warren should be Kelly’s back up, or at least rotate with him to keep eachother fresh and healthy.
Who is Mitchell going to step in for? Why do you believe he will be a starter
I love the guys who get hated on for no reason.
Have my Jamarcus jersey already.
Looking for Sands and Warren jerseys next.
Won’t go out on a limb for the Huff jersey, yet! But would you guys please stop telling me his job is done b/c we drafted Mitchell! Mitchell is a SS, as is Branch.
I understand that selling securities is not the same as a car.
You see the car, touch it, drive it, etc…. But don’t you think you are leaving money on the table? I know what you mean, “cherry picker”!!
I can’t leave money on the table, big or small. 1k, 10k, or 100k is all money, and I get commission.
My job is to make the comany and myself as much money as I can. If that means a small sale, or a bug sale. I willnot spend a lot of time on small sales so I won’t lose a big sale, but never ignore a sale.

Who is Mitchell going to step in for? Why do you believe he will be a starter
Mitchell will take over for Eugene at some point in the year. Mitchell won’t start opening day.
He’s going to play because the Raiders drafted him in the 2nd round AND Mitchell was one of the top players on the Raiders board. The criticism they got afterwards will only strengthen their resolve to get him on the field.
Fortunately for the Raiders, Mike Mitchell has a winning attitude and is a physical player. Question that remains is if he can mentally adjust to the NFL game and the change in speed from the MAc to the NFL.
Bug sale : big sale.
Not a bad point actually.
Please tell me RRS why the 6’4 330lb Warren is a 3 tech and not a NT.
Then explain to me why the hell it even matters. Line up in front of your guy and maul him. It’s that simple.
The FS and SS positions are going to more similiar this year. I think Marshall will be playing with a two back safety as opposed to that FS on an island B.S that Ryan and Davis ran last year.
Cable talked about playing both of them.
The Raiders love Tyvon Branch…and rightfully so…The Raiders do not like Michael Huff. Cable benched him at the 1st opportunity and Davis blamed Shell for drafting him.
Plus, Huff is still looking awful out there and is clearly behind EUgene in the depth charts.
Do you believe in miracles? Cause I don’t!
Realistically, I think we are looking at Eugene at FS and Mitchell at SS. I think Huff will continue to play that “rover” role and be the 3rd DB on the field.
You keep saying he got benched S&B, but that’s very misleading. He played A LOT last year at FS, SS, and CB.
S&B makes a good point. Al Davis drafts guys in skill positions WAY more than he drafts grunts to protect his investments. I was shocked when Norv Turner/AD drafted Gallery & Grove in the 2004 draft!
the zbs is known for taking late round draft picks, undrafted guys, scrub free agents or versatile players from the old system and forming a solid unit with great run blocking ability. However, we’ve seen Sims & Harris flop at LT the last 2 years and Carlisle had a rough time last season. Green is not a starter (as Jerry points out, nor did they intend for him to be) yet they make no effort to replace him.
the D-Line has been suspect talent-wise for years. We’ve brought in Sapp, Dana Stubblefield, Ted Washington, etc under Rob Ryan and all of them failed miserably at stopping the run
I have been and continue to be a JaMarcus Russell supporter. I like him and see what he can become. I actually like the offense going into the year.
The defense? I can’t get with you on Terdell and Gerard. Like Rockstar said, the Raiders have a bunch of 3-techs playing out of position. Warren SHOULD be backing up Kelly and possibly coming in on definite passing downs.
It gets back to the Raider pass-oriented finesse defensive strategy. They place a premium on “trying” to get QB pressure at the risk of getting scraped against the run.
Raider O, no offense w/ the Latka remark. I loved that show! We need an Elaine in here…
If the Raider DTs are so good, why cant the Raiders stop the run, EVER?
Huff got benched. Plain and simple.
Do you even watch the games?
Mitchell is going to start over Branch? Dont think so.
