3.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 = 1st down!

3.5 + 4 yard pass + 3 yard pass = 1st down!

3.5 + 3.5 + 3 yard pass = 1st down!

Tha point is, if your back is averaging 3.5 yards for an entire season, there’s no reason in the world why a team shouldn’t be moving the chains with a half-competent passing game.

And for the record:

Jerome Bettis career yards/rush: 3.9
Marcus Allen career yards/rush: 4.1
Roger Craig career yards/rush: 4.1

Justin Fargas’ career yards/rush: 4.1

And that’s all fine and dandy – at the end of the day, I don’t really care about those stats. You’re either a good football player or you’re not.

Drop the smack immediately my friend. The stats you are putting up are for a dink and dunk offense. Notice alot of Farglass runs especially last year were on 3rd and super long. Dont be confused. Haha you used ypc for guys who could find the endzone. Terrible

Oak, I think you might be a little off here. First, yes McFadden fumbled a lot in college, he was in a gimmicky offense plays almost like an option QB. Last year McFadden lost one fumble.

Blocking, well, according to reports Bush and McFadden have been lighting up people in camp, so we’ll see if that argument continues to hold water. (besides, no one has yet to offer me any evidence of a case of McFadden, or Bush for that matter, missing a block that lead to a QB sack)

As to letting those guys start and not earning it…correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t DHB just listed as the starting WR? What has he done to earn a starting job other than scare everyone with dropped passes and being the #7 pick? I guess the Raiders themselves sometimes do what you think is such an awful act…

Basically Dakota I agree with most of what you have here. mcFadden put the ball on the ground a few times in games even tho he might not have lost them, and more than the coaches wanted to see in practice. Same with Mike.

Regarding blocking, both of them HAVE to get better. I don’t know if you have a copy of the last Discharger game from last year to watch, but Bush came in, The Dischargers blitzed, Bush’s head was spinning like he was a cartoon charachter, Jam got wacked the ball came out, and Bush did not see the field again til the last game of the season. Now you know why.

I really can’t comment on the depth chart put up on the Raiders site. There is a lot of things on the Raiders web site I don’t get, But understand, it is not like I am saying Fargas is Jim Brown and Dmac and Mike are lawrence phillips. One thing I really expect is a LOT more Bush and Dmac this year myself.
