The mere fact that Cable is contemplating trying to get three running backs carries, when two of the three are clearly more talented, shows his stupidity.

Forget gibson what about pope and dorsett that they both whiffed on that 98 yrd to 50 yr old sharpe was awful. How many times did schwegiert get run over or stiff armed to the ground do atkinson and tatum just shake their heads what happened to Raiders safeties. Since Turners untimely death other than a great year by a Woodson nothing but awful seasons.

Rockstar – Lol…..If Mitchell is the second coming of Derrick Gibson, then Al has been playing Russian Roulette for quite some time now! Can you belive that f’er was a first round pick too? The worst safety ever in Raiders history. He should have been a linebacker. Just like Boyd should be, but we’re trying to convert him to a DB. That kid showed a lot of promise at Oregon to have only played football for a limited time in his life. I was praying he would win the strong side position but it looks like he’s not even in the running.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:05 am
too many questions on our team to win
RIGHT TACKLE POSTION IS HORRIBLE= MORE SACKS FOR THE DISCHARGERS
CENTER POSTITION IS SHAKY AT BEST NO CLEAR CUT ANSWER THERE EVER SINCE ROBBINS
LINE BACKERS PLAYING MUSICAL CHAIRS
DEFENSIVE LINE MEN WHO CANT STOP THE RUN= OHH BY THE WAY LADANIAN TOMLINSONS COMING TO TOWN ALONG WITH SPROLES. ANOTHER 150 YARD RUSHING GAME FOR LT INCLUDING TWO TDS TO BOOT
NO PROVEN TALENT AT THE SAFETY POSTION!!!
FARGAS IS STARTING
WIDE RECEIVERS HAVE REALLY DONE NOTHING IN THIS LEAGUE EXCEPT FOR WALKER AND HES NOT MAKING ANY IMPACT SOON
A QUARTERBACK THAT SEEMS TO THROW ARRANT PASSES UNLESS ITS THE FASTBALL.
=====================================
ON THE OTHER HAND THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOTS I SEE IS
THE LEFT SIDE OF THE OLINE IS GOOD ENOUGH NOT GREAT
TWO POTENTIALLY GREAT RUNNING BACKS INCLUDING ONE DECENT BACK IN FARGAS.
YOUNG FAST WR CORPS
CORNER BACKS WHO CAN PLAY MAN D
AND THE WEAKSIDE LINEBACKER POSITION
THE FULL BACK POSITION
=======================================
TOO MANY QUESTIONMARKS AT CRITICAL POSTIONS TO WIN GAMES IN THE NFL PERIOD
I PREDICT
7-9 AND THATS PUSHING IT.
I AM A RAIDER FAN BUT THIS IS MY HONEST TO GOD ASSESMENT FOR THE BEGINING OF THIS SEASON
GO RAIDAS
NO MORE KOOL AID UNTIL WE BEAT OUR RIVALS AND GO 3-0

August 13th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Yea, Schwiegert and Dorsett were horrible, but Schwiegerts first year was at least decent, and Dorsett had a couple decent years. Gibson was always horrible and the fact he was a first rounder makes it worse.

Hey Lady Raccoon, any recommendations on a sweet spot to catch the game tonight in South Sacramento? I’m looking for a place light on biker dudes, so I’m probably asking the wrong chick.

August 13th, 2009 at 11:12 am
Until the Raiders put more emphasis on stopping the run and getting QB pressure….the DBs whether it be Safety or Cornerback are going to struggle.
The Raiders D-Line is the lynchpin in all of this. Running backs can’t be coming full-bore and QBs can’t be sitting back in comfort looking for their 4th checkdown…..
Again, hopefully John Marshall cleans this up. In fact, HOW they play defense…not the scoreboard is going to be the determining factor for 2009.
I know people want to ignore this. But the Giants, Eagles, Redskins, Cowboys, Steelers, Ravens, Texans, Jets, Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers can all run the ball really well.

Lol…forgot about Bates! Well, at least we traded Bates and ATL got half a season out of him before they realized he was crap. Al had Gibson on scholarship until he retired after a measly average length 5 year career. 1st rounders should always be able to give you more than the average 5 year career.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:16 am
if we’re going to debate Satele vs Grove, can we at least get the facts out here???
Grove: 5 years with Oakland, 46 starts in 80 games (mostly due to injury). 8 holding calls, 5 false starts, 12.5 sacks allowed
Satele: 2 years with Miami, 32 starts in 32 games. 3 false starts, 3 holding calls, 6.5 sacks allowed
Miami handed Grove a 5 year contract worth $29 million ($14.5 mil guaranteed)
Oakland gave up a 6th Round pick to acquire Satele and inherited his rookie 2nd round pick contract, where he’s esentially making peanuts the next 2 seasons.
who got the better deal? judge for yourselves …
I SAY OAKLAND !!!

Don’t be an idiot Lefty, of course I want to be wrong about Cable….I will gladly take all your ribbing if we go 9-7 and Cable demonstrates the ability to win some games.
I just express what I feel to be true. Cable has shown me nothing. He has most of the rest of you wrapped around his little finger because of two late season wins….fine, but just don’t be surprised if Cable rides Fargas, Green and Walker to 6-10 this year.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:18 am
In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever applauded Gibson for a play ever! Maybe one of his 3 career picks got me smiling a little bit, but I’m sure he could replace that grin on the next defensive series with a “What the F__?”

Undrafted rookie S Jerome Boyd, who played linebacker at Oregon, has grabbed coach Tom Cable’s attention. “He seems to show up a little somewhere every day,” Cable said.
I seen this kid play at oregon and I believe we were talking bout him heavily before the draft…as a BIG hitter who could be moved to saftey ala Darnell Bing…..heres to hi=oping this time around it works!!!!
I for one can tell you this the kid is a ball hawk and flies around the feild @ about 225 lbs……..
August 13th, 2009 at 11:25 am
I was at a game against the Broncos, maybe 01 or 02, when Gibson flattened some WR and he had to leave on a cart. That is the only fond memory I had of Gibson. I more remember him being burnt just about everytime he went into coverage.

August 13th, 2009 at 11:29 am
some saftey koolaid for ya’all
The Raiders signed undrafted free-agent linebacker Jerome Boyd on Wednesday.
Boyd, 6-foot-2 and 217 pounds, started his final two seasons at the University of Oregon. He recorded 80 tackles last season and was named the team’s Bob Officer Award as the player who excelled despite physical adversity and injury.
Boyd. 22, also owns the distincition of posting the fastest 40-yard dash time in Oregon history for a linebacker at 4.33 seconds. He was an Honorable Mention All-Pac 10 his junior and senior seasons.
Boyd played safety in high school and was regarded as the sixth-best prospect at that position. It’s conceivable that he will be converted to safety, given his lack of desired size for a linebacker in the NFL.
Boyd is the seventh undrafted free agent signed by the Raiders since the NFL Draft ended Sunday. He is expected to participate in the team’s mini camp May 8-10 in Alameda, Calif.

Sorry guys, until I see some wins strung together at the beginning of the season, I am not on the Cable bandwagon.
I was all for the guy as an o-line coach, and I even remember saying, when we signed Harris last year, that maybe Cable can make something out of him.
Well, I know he didn’t walk into the best situation in the world last season, but frankly, we suffered 4 or 5 of the most humiliating defeats I have ever seen in 25 years as a Raiders fan. He lost me when he stubbornly continued to play Harris over Henderson and when he scripted the first three drives for Fargas in the Pats game instead of playing McFadden…oh, and when McFadden actually had to draw him up a play in the red zone.
A win against the Texans doesn’t wash that stink off of Cable in my eyes.
A win against a TB team that would still have defeated us had their RB not gone down, or if Fargas was still playing and Bush never saw the field that day because of Cable…doesn’t mean much in my eyes…
But, I know we have been so far down that many of you cling to those moments like a man would cling to a scrap of wood in the ocean, but not me…
Start 3-1, even with Fargas and Green starting, and I will give Cable all the praise he deserves…until then, he is just a guy that one year ago would never ever ever have been in consideration for a HC job in the NFL.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:31 am
Oaklifer – I was hoping Boyd would get a chance at StrongSide. I think he’s really talented too, and he can definitely hit. Why try to convert him if LB is where he is comfortable playing? If Alston can gain all that necessary weight to hold down a OLB position, I’m sure Boyd can get to where they need him to get.
Rockstar – hahaha…I’m never cheering for anyone to be carried off on a stretcher, but lets just say I was glad when Schwiegert finally got to play! Too bad we found out he wasn’t much better.

way back when In order to put food on the table you either had to grow it, hunt it, and in some cases buy or trade for it. Furs were used for clothing or sold in order to purchase things, and in many cases the furs of animals were currency. For early Americans, this was also the case. You simply did not sport hunt in those days. It is hard to make a sport out of something you did everyday.

Thanks, Oak! I’m sure ol Krappy is ok, but you never know about that old fool.
Offensively it would be nice to see DHB and Shilens have some good chemistry with Jamarcus, but I’m very curious to see how the right side of the O line performs. The success of our offense hinges on how well Carlisle and Green perform.
On defense I want to see Kelly and Warren stuff the run, but am especially interested in the play of Tyvonne Branch. Hearing good things about him so far in camp, can he carry it to the field?
Anyway, awesome old dude, hit me back with a Krappy update asap!

Lifer…let’s hope so. I’m hoping he makes the squad ’cause he was one of the few bright spots on Oregon’s D and fun to watch, so if he makes it at safety, so be it. As long as he stays in Silver & Black, ’cause if we cut him, he WILL be picked up. He was supposed to be on everyone’s radar, but teams were leery ’cause he only played two years in college, but the dude is a monster, and I hope we see that. Looking forward to seeing him in a few!

***
Lefty: people who claim to be christian and vote in favor of ab0rtion & g@y rights either don’t know the Bible or don’t obey it. simple as that
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Christians should not support the death penalty either, yet Repub. evangelicals conveniently ignore that. How about heeding Jesus’ words that blatantly conflict with Repub policies:
> Death penalty: Thou shalt not kill [Matthew 5:21]
> War in Iraq: Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. [Matthew 5:9]
> Tax breaks for the wealthy: Truly, I say unto you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 19:23]
> Separation of church/state: Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the
things that are God’s. [Matthew 22:21]
RRS, Republicans just USE religion for votes. They don’t care about following Jesus teachings at all. Just ask Dan Quayle, who said: “Republicans have been accused of abandoning the poor, but they abandoned us first…they don’t vote for us.”

Calling for Cable’s job because he wants to best utilize his 3 headed running attack is ridiculous.
Farg does best between the 20’s, Bush can bash short yards and goal line, DMC is too valuable to hadn the ball off to 30 times a game.
He can run, play QB in the Wild Hog, line up at slot or wide or throw.
Why not see if you can’t keep all 3 healthy and productive all year long?

Dakota, it is the pinnacle of ignorance to think a change in law could end abortions. Roe vs. Wade did not suddenly create abortions and repealing it would not end abortions. In FACT, the number of legal abortions has been going down in recent years.
If you really care about reducing abortions (legal or no), support the proven methods:
> Teaching/distributing birth control
> Fighting poverty
> Sex education
If you do not support these methods, you are just a hypocrite using the abortion issue to hate on people.

BROOKS TO VISIT RAIDERS NEXT
Former Bucs linebacker Derrick Brooks is scheduled to visit the Oakland Raiders Friday, according to his former teammates, John Lynch, who was at One Buc Place Thursday.
Brooks, an 11-time Pro Bowler, played for the Bucs from 1995-2008. He was released in Tampa Bay’s youth movement in February. Brooks worked out for the Saints earlier this week, but left New Orleans without signing a contract.

Odds of Sands being cut despite no depth at tackle?
12:18 jerrymac: I don’t think they’ll cut him. Strange thing is, Sands looks to be in the best shape I can remember. I think they’re hoping he just plays better. Poor practices are one thing, a good preseason performance, however, counts for more than good practices where a veteran is concerned.

Bo,
Don’t get me wrong, I know abortions will be here no matter what the law says…but that doesn’t mean I can’t have an issue with the idea of openly supporting it and making it more available. I don’t even go to church and I am, at most, a fringe believer in the bible. I just find the idea morally repugnant (except in certain cases of course…r@pe, incest, severe disabilities, and medical danger to the mother).
What bothers me is its use as a birth control method. You can pass out all the rubbers you want and teach whatever you want to in school, but that problem has not gone away. If having a baby is so damned inconvenient, then don’t spread your legs. And if you do conceive, then have the baby and give it up for adoption.
I have no problem with gay marriage, gun control of automatic weapons, civil rights, even separation of church and state, heck, I am practically a lib, but that one issue will never allow me to support the democratic party. It is a polarizing issue that can’t be overcome for many.

Actually once again missed-a-brain you have hit another all time low. It was Reagan-Bush that put our debt completely out of control. Clinton balanced the budget with debt reduction, and then Bush-Cheney were the ones that spent an enormous amount of money to RUIN the economy. Everyone seems to know this but you and Rush Limbaugh. You’re claim that Obama has spent 5 times more in 6 months than Bush-cheney spent in 8 years is so absolutely preposterous, that again it just shows what a complete and totalo wack job you are. Its use as a birth control method as BSJ are mostly the red states because eliminated education in this area in schools. abstinence? Going thru puberty & you teach abstinence?

Q: who will be the surprise cut this year?
A: Candidates: Garcia, Morrison, Sands, Alston. . . not saying they will be, just a guess depending on how things shake out. (Morrison would possibly get them something by trade).
—
Q: Curious why you bring up Alston as a possible cut? Can back up both OLB spots and is a solid special teamer…plus a 4th string RB if you remember his run in the Jets games.
A: Plantar fasciatis can last awhile, and if Alston doesn’t win a starting job, it could cost him an overall job _ particularly if they’re intent on keeping Sam Williams again.
***
WOW! Alston may get the knife? I think we now know why Derrick Brooks is coming to town …

Vegas Raider,
I will be watching the line play on both sides closely. If the O-Line gives the QB/RB the ability to do their jobs…we should see it on the field.
If the D-Line is making plays at the LOS…and linebackers are flying around…we should see it on the field.
We’ve been down this road enough times…Let’s see what Marshall can do.
Hope to the good lord that the Harvard kid shows something

The numbers show that liberal influence is more effective in reducing abort!ons than is conservative influence. [This is info lifted from the Liberals Like Christ site. You can see Ray Dubuque's original chart there, about 1/2 way down the page.]
These numbers are important. They show actual results. They show which party’s impact over time is most effectively anti-abort!on – and it’s not the so-called conservatives! L!beral policies, behaviors and attitudes apparently REDUCE abortions. Republican policies, attitudes and behaviors apparently INCREASE abort!ons. The results are similar regarding teen pregnancy.
THEREFORE: You WILL do more to reduce abortions by voting for pro-choice candidates than by voting for anti-abort!on candidates. Weird huh?

August 13th, 2009 at 12:53 pm
Bo,
Don’t get me wrong, I know abortions will be here no matter what the law says…but that doesn’t mean I can’t have an issue with the idea of openly supporting it and making it more available.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
First, you are dead wrong to think that anyone SUPPORTS abortion. All involved, including the docs, consider it a sad tragedy.
And cool, it is your right to consider it morally repugnant. But in a free country, your moral views only decide what YOU do. Otherwise, I would tell RRS not to hunt animals he doesn’t eat.
Also, I agree that abortion is too easily used as an out for poor behavior. But your description is sexist. Both a man and woman choose to have sex, thus both should not “spread their legs”.
And I also favor adoption when facing an unwanted pregnancy. But to really decrease the number of abortions, we need to educate women AND men about adoption and birth control. And fight poverty and teach sex ed.
These ACTUALLY WORK, and Dems support these policies. So your “polarizing issue” should lead you to support more Democrats.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
Wow, I replied to Dakota without reading TW’s comments above. A bit repetitive I guess.
August 13th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
How does policy really factor into abortion rates? It’s a personal responsibility issue, that’s why the highest rates in the country are in the poorest places. How about some accountability in place like Macon County where the abortion rate is a whopping 33%. No matter what “policy” or “education” you implement, they are still going to screw off, pun intended.

Vegas,
Your analysis misses one underlying factor – poverty. Poorer people are less educated, and tend toward less responsible sexual behavior and more abortions. And in the south, poverty impacts blacks more (thx jim Crow).
In other words, more poor/uneducated = more abortions. It is not because they are black.

O: I think Huff will take on a traditional FS role this season, including tonight’s game. He’ll play centerfield and he’ll help the CB’s in coverage. Branch’s role will be to cover the TE on passing plays (possible help from the MLB) and get down in the box on running plays
I’ll give up on Huff if he fails to impress this season under a new/capable DC. In other words, after the 2009 season (if need be). I think he’ll prove himself though

Bill O’Reilly made the spurious claims against GE, the parent company of MSNBC, on his show on Tuesday, which GE called “irresponsible and maliciously false” in a statement released on Wednesday, according to an AP report.
O’Reilly reported that his “sources” told him of an ongoing federal investigation into American companies supplying radio frequency modules for roadside bombs. He claimed that an unnamed American company sold the parts to Corezing International, a company based in Singapore that has business dealings with the Islamic regime of Iran.

Bo, this is what I found on a state by state basis…it was in 2005, but I doubt things have changed much…I don’t see a higher rate in what you like to call red states…where do you get your info, I would like to take a look at it. As a matter of fact, the plains states, usually “red” have the lowest abortion rate per 1000 women ages 15-44.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Dakota,
I must humbly admit I might have been wrong about the stats – I probably got confused with teen preg rate, which is higher in most red states.
Regardless, the legal/illegal abortion issue is a red herring. They will happen either way, and no party “supports” them. Repubs think outlawing will make them go away; Dems think sex ed, birth control, and anti-poverty programs will lower the abortion rate and I agree. Obama himself has said over and over he wants to lower the numbers.

Politics seem to always creep in here. You know what? Both the left and right suk balls. You have the one idiot puppet that we had to put up with the past 8 years, turning us into a bunch of imper1alists. Now you have the current guy thinking he can pull off healthcar3 for all. With what money? Maybe all the money that the previous idiot used up in fighting a useless w@r?
August 13th, 2009 at 2:58 pm

The government is ran by devils all across the board by the way. Liberals conservatives all the same… They just f with ya mind and make you believe you have a choice but its funny you only get to pick out of the two of them in reality. You’ll never see a green or independant president because the dems and reps run the country together. They throw the rock and hide the hand so to speak. Reps come and blow shit up let the rich spend more money and then after everybody hates us, we send the peace maker dems in to get everybody to like us again when in reality they’re all the same. The same people have been running the white house for years But they say we have a new pres??? Yea… riiight… beleive that bs if you want to.

August 13th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Exactly, Dmac20. I vote basically to just pick between who I think will be the lesser of the idiots. We have no real choice. Doesn’t help that people don’t think for themselves either. A couple of well-placed ads and a bunch of money will get you the votes you need. Case in point. Locally here, we had some items on the ballet last year to increase property and communication taxes for community colleges, local services, etc. In the middle of a recession do you think these idiots voted it down? Nope. There was way more advertising for the Pro argument and, sure enough, it all passed. Let the students pay for the fuqqin upgrades!! FUK I HATE POLITICS!!

Excerpt from a Family Guy that will never be aired:
At one point, Peter watches an anti-abortion video, which proclaims several people would be alive if abortion wasn’t legal, including a fourth Stooge, the guy who would have killed Adolf Hitler and Osama bin Laden’s America-loving brother, who could have prevented 9/11.
August 13th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Krappy! You’re alive!
We were worried earlier when you didn’t show up that you had either taken the world’s biggest dump in your pants in anticipation of tonight’s game or you had another Broker Tour.
Either way, glad you’re here and you’re alive. Please try not to overdose on Benadryl before kickoff tonight, we don’t want you wandering around your neighborhood in the nude scaring little kids while Jamarcus racks up completions.
And any idea where Brian the Genital is today? That slender little dude was going nuts on the blog yesterday. Guessing he’s just all wrapped up in the latest issue of Vogue.

There are exceptions on both sides and I have to admit that I liked Clinton. A master of foreign policy. August 13th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
Its amazing how DHall continues to get press. He completely embarrassed himself in Oakland trying to play a man-to-man defense. He was completely exposed.
Watching him play here was one of the most horrific spectacles in football. Absolutely infuriating. So much so he was cut MID-SEASON!!! Now Goddamn …I barely remember Al doing that!
He may still be a good play, but only in the right offense. Just shows you just how good Nnam is if Hall is still considered one of the best.
August 13th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
*I barely remember Al (ever) doing that!*
*but only in the right (defense)*
August 13th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Hall specializes in a different style than the Raiders employ. Al Davis should have known that.

But no as great as hall claims to be you’d think he’d be able to do every thing. Atlanta didn’t want him, the raiders cut him??? So must not be that great. And the times he got beat the most he was playing his favored zone. He is a Bum! And he is using the raiders and al davis as a cop out for him being sorry.Smh Routt doesn’t have a problem with the man we run and hall believes hes better than him… Cj doesn’t have aproblem with the man and hall thinks hes better than him… So really hall just a system guy but claims to be the next best thing since deion??? Give me a break.. Angela hall needs to be on the sideline with the cheerleaders because all he does is run his mouth.

The sad thing about Nnam is that he’ll never make the HOF no matter how long he stays this good because chances are he won’t produce the numbers that these so-called voters would immediately look for. His dominance won’t be displayed in the obvious stats.

Brady is coming off a serious knee injury. I don’t know why everyone thinks he’s going to come back on fire like he once was. Look no further than McNabb or any player that came off a serious injury like Brady’s. It took them well into the season to regain some resemblance of their prior form. And they still weren’t back to par until the next season.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
Well I guess we will find out if he can come back and put up some #’s

Terp nnam will go into broadcasting when he’s finished so no one will forget him and I believe they’ll vote him in.Just formthe amount of probowls he will be nominsted to. He doesn’t get a chance for picks but ppl recognize him trust me.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Ice COLD beer time! enjoy the game! later….
August 13th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
We recognize him. And DHall coming here did him a HUGE favor. Basically showed the world just how much better he is than the guy that got consecutively voted to the Pro-bowl. So he’s just startin’ to get mass fan recognition.
I think you’re right though. His best chance at the hall is to stay contributing to the NFL via broadcasting so no one forgets him and hype himself up through that venue.

Just for shyts and giggles:
Nnamdi was #7 in NFLN’s “Greatest Defensive Backs” OF ALL TIME already. It’s was too early to know as Asomugha’s career has not been long enough yet, but if he just plays the way he has for another 5-6 years and then caps it off with a few good years as a FS, he’ll go in as quick as Rod did IMO.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
I guess ol Krappy is either napping, at the gym or unleashing a horrible load in his pajamas.
Either way, the old goat is off the blog and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. One more day we don’t have to deal with the maniacal rantings of a senile lunatic – with dirty drawers.
And where’s Brian the Genital today? Love talking turkey with that loveable loser.

LETS GO RAIDERS
August 13th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
You guys should try the salary cap football. You have a cap that you can’t go over when you are adding players and you make a team. But if your player increases in value over the season you can sell him and ur cap goes up and get different players.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
NFLN is so out of touch with the Raiders. These mo-fos are actually talking about Garcia starting for the Raiders. Like Jerry said, JR will have to do a face plant before that sht happens.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
dude hasn’t even been practicing yet …you wonder if these fools even realize it! Garcia is way behind the ball. He better watch out before Frye takes his spot.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Dakota…post 10:
I agreed with you. There seems to be too much worry on feelings. The hell with Fargas’ feelings. DMac & Bush are the future and they’re both potentially big time running backs…so just let them run the freaking ball. Cable needs to go back to being an offensive line coach with is probably way past his limit.
The problem and I hope I’m wrong is the o-line and d-line, they both suck and Davis is too blame, AGAIN, for those problems.

Like I said, it was for shyts and giggles. I still think Nnamdi is the best Cover Corner EVER to play the game. Rod Woodson gets my vote for best DEFESIVE player EVER however. Don’t think you can compare the 2 now, but who taught Nnamdi? Oh, ya Rod Woodson! Doesn’t get better than that. Chris Johnson had a great turn around after attending Prime-Times Prim-U CB camp. Another great at the position.

322. Lot of people have no f’in clue what the Raiders are about. Why should they? Oakland has sucked for 6 years.
Some of them are in a for a rude awakening as our weapons come on line and this team figures out it CAN win.

Terrapin, the reason the NFL network is talking about Garcia being a starter is because they don’t work for the Raiders, therefore they’re more inclined to tell it like it is than they are to toe the Raider company line the way guys like Greg Poppa do. In Raiderland, Russell is the next Tom Brady. But in the real world, everyone knows that Garcia is the Raiders’ only chance. The NFL network has an obligation to discuss that. It’s the NFL network. Not the Raiders t.v. or radio network. The latter is where you should go to hear the sunshine on how great JaMarcus Russell is.
August 13th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Com’on MaddenRaider ….they also mentioned JR came into camp “at 3 bills” …but issued a disclaimer that the Raiders said is was not true. I think its safe to say he did not enter camp that heavy. Funny, same rumor last year.
I’m not knockin’ NFL as much to be honest. Its TV its ratings. A juicy story would be Garcia challenging JR. But they were actually talking about Garcia possibly starting for the season. Now com’on, I’m not Nostradamus but I see the probably of that VERY unlikely unless JR gets injured. There isn’t even a competition now. It was like they were reporting on “old news”. Maybe they just didn’t get the update
August 13th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Nick Sabin was quoted by the QB on the Dolphins (white). Sabin told White when he recruited him Jamarcus is too stuipid to be a QB.
Of course with Sabin you have to consider the source but wow.
August 13th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
This year HAS to be his year, if its not than I just don’t want to watch him lead our team anymore
August 13th, 2009 at 5:05 pm
Terrapin, it’s not ratings. It’s common knowledge outside of the Raider Nation kook aid drinking party that Garcia is the Raiders’ only hope of making a playoff run. That’s the only point NFLN is making. They’re not Raider bashing. In fact, if the Raiders would pay attention, and start Garcia, they might find themselves in the playoffs in January.
August 13th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
That’s the second time I misspelled kool aid, saying, “kook aid”, instead. But you know what? Kook aid works. That’s what the Al believers really drink. Kook aid. LOL. I’m going to call it kook aid from her on out.

Rod Woodson a great for sure but he ain’t even the best db to safety to end up playing for the Raiders. Ronnie Lott, he would absolutely kill people and for best player ever on D the 1 and only LT and Reggie White were amazing.
August 13th, 2009 at 5:20 pm
Moss just sold out on a jump ball. At least thats what I saw. He sold Brady out. Bad throw, but com’on Moss you can do better than that. But hey, its preseason.

I never considered Philly to be the wisest team in the NFL. McNabb is one of the best QBs in the league; but you hear year after year these dumbaszes wanting to get rid of him.
Almost like some Raider fans wanting to start Garcia over Russell.
Now they get Vick and create even more controversy.

I stand corrected. Forgot Kolb got hurt so they need a backup. Could be a good deal depending on the length of the contract, etc for the Eagles. I expect it to be a 1yr deal. If its a multi year deal, maybe they use him as trade bait or they do the unimaginable – and release McNabb in favor of Vick.
August 13th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
