Vick to Raiders _ in Week 6

Turns out Michael Vick is coming to Oakland after all.
In Week 6, as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia visits the Coliseum on Oct. 18, and Roger Goodell decreed he’d have made a decision by then.
Who knows, if Goodell wants to make Vick think long and hard about prison time and dog fighting, he could make his Eagles debut that day.
The Raiders, meanwhile, go through their warmups as they host Dallas tonight in their preseason opener. Right next door is the Ringling Bros. circus, where unnamed sources said the assembled animals are none too happy about Vick finding an NFL home.
I’ll file brief updates throughout the game and also have quick hits on my Twitter page.

I stand corrected. Forgot Kolb got hurt so they need a backup. Could be a good deal depending on the length of the contract, etc for the Eagles. I expect it to be a 1yr deal. If its a multi year deal, maybe they use him as trade bait or they do the unimaginable – and release McNabb in favor of Vick.

Philly is a good spot for Vick on the PR side, Philly certainly is not the most compassionate city. Besides the PETA protestors, not many normal folks will care, as compared to a Seattle, SF even Boston where the average joe might go protest.

Vick paid his debt to society. Instead of hiding behind lawyers, he admitted guilt and did his time. He gets a clean slate to start over, its the law. He lost millions and a part of his life to a prison cell. You self righteous hypocrites need to get off of your high horses…..you forgive a pedophile like Michael Jackson who pays witnesses to disapear, or not testify and hires lawyer to draw out procedings, but condemn a man for life for confessing and paying for his crime…..Grow UP

Just listened to Cable’s pregame interview on KSFO. Cable is a football guy and the best coach the Raiders have had in a while. He’ll do fine given time. Too bad Al is still the GM; otherwise these guys would have a chance some day.

It was in an SI article about the whole deal, one of Vick’s low-life “friends” that pleaded out and testified against Vick said that’s how the dogs warmed up and they mockingly called it “batting practice”.

Florida Pete – Yeah ATDHE has a really good picture, I just hope the Raiders game will take over the current game.
Vegas Raider – I agree. Gruden is a good voice behind the Mike but I get annoyed with Ron Jaworski. He’s too animated or over doing it.

Naww crude… There was no proof that mike did that to those lil boys. People just saw he was a lil weird and took advantage of the situation. Tell me if your kid came home after you let him visit someone and you ask, “So what’d you do?” And your kid replys “oh we rode horses, went to the theme park, watched movies” and then he/she says “he even let me sleep in the bed with him”… Now even though that person may have not touched them you’re still going to raise an eyebrow… And the fact that this is a multi million dollar man doesn’t help the cause. We forced both of those passes, neither receiver was open on either play. We can’t rely on pass interference penalties. The first play for scrimmage JMarcus tosses one underneath for a first down. That’s what you have to do to move the chains these days. On both deep passes, you could see the safety coming to help. We didn’t have man coverage either time, which is what you need to get that deep pass off.

The penalty killed us. But we’re lucky to even be in the red zone, anyway. The receivers were covered on those deep plays. We’re lucky the first shot wasn’t picked off. We’re still forcing the deep ball. BTW, fellers, where’s this run game we’re supposed to be “emphasizing”?

Protection doesn’t look bad. Only attempted a few runs and thats not lookin’ too good. Gallery not playing. Gaurds matter a lot in our run game.
Schilens catching everything. JR needs to spread the wealth. They don’t look too bad. But are not hot sht either.
Good thing is they’re attacking.

AND WHERE IS THIS EMPHASIS ON THE RUN? A nice time to run would have been on second down. They were playing the pass. Hence, Russell nearly getting sacked waiting for someone to get open downfield. Vertical game = dumbest offense in the league today.

Couple observations …
Carlisle needs to be replaced.
Trevor Scott is too small.
Morrison is invisible.
Fargas will play himself into the 3rd string spot.
