AOL Fanhouse: Cable punched Hanson
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Monday, August 17th, 2009 at 3:02 pm in Oakland Raiders.
According to a report in an AOL Fanhouse, Raiders head coach Tom Cable was the person who punched defensive assistant Randy Hanson, updating a story appearing in the National Football Post.
Cable will adress the media following today’s practice at 3:30 p.m., but is not expected to confirm or deny anything.
“It is an internal matter and will be handled as such,” senior executive John Herrera said.
Here’s a link to Steve Corkran’s initial report which contains information from the Napa Police Department.

Wow. I hope this doesn’t result in some kind of suspension for the Coach if true. Wouldn’t be good to start the season without our coach. Especially on Monday Night against the Chargers.

If it is true that Cable punched this guy, it will be interesting to see what he says after practice.
Tells a lot about the differences between Cable and Kiffin. This guy Hanson has some issues apparently, and while Kiffin tried to suspend him for a week, Cable just punched him in the mouth. I like Cable’s approach better.

August 17th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
VR yes me too. The team needs to know they dont have a some pu$$y for a coach leading them into battle. Cable aint the smartest but I know he has toughness and this team has lacked it for many many many years

Yeh, Vegas, this is such an improvement from Kiffin. While Kiffin tried to handle the situation professionally and make it as little of a distraction as possible, Cable staged a fist fight in front of his players, doing nothing more than reinforcing the players suspicions of the Oakland Raiders’ being an insane asylum, and giving them one more reason to not take anything seriously here.

KK, Our infant mortality rate is almost the same as Canada 6.3 to 5.03 and our life expectancy is higher than LMN’s Denmark, both nations that provide socialized medicine.
As to the 47 uninsured Americans, once you take out the 10 million illegal immigrants factored into that number plus the 25% of them that can afford health insurance but simply choose not to buy it, that number drops down to 20 million.
And you guys claim that Republicans use scare tactics?

ESPN.com news services
Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched one of his assistants on Aug. 5 at the team’s training camp headquarters in Napa, Calif., several media outlets reported on Monday.
The Web site National Football Post first reported that defensive assistant Randy Hanson was punched in the jaw by another member of the Raiders staff. Unidentified sources later told Fanhouse.com that Cable attacked the third-year assistant.
Hanson reportedly did not want to pursue the matter, but staff at Queen of the Valley Hospital alerted authorities, according to Fanhouse.com.
“The victim didn’t even want any police action taken,” Napa Police Lt. Brian McGovern told the Web site, “but we were following hospital policy that authorities be contacted in cases where there may have been an assault.”
Hanson suffered a fractured jaw, and as a result Cable could face felony charges, according to the Web site. But McGovern said, according to the Web site, that the Napa Police consider the matter closed “unless we are re-contacted by the victim, and the victim changes their mind that they want us to follow through and pursue an investigation. At this point we’re not doing anything else with it.”
McGovern said the police report has not been made public over privacy concerns.
Cable had a regularly scheduled meeting with the media scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday.

Bummer, if Al won’t save the Raiders and fire Cable, and the cops won’t bust his ass, then I guess we are stuck with Cable for this season, lol.

Brien, so, the Raiders’ problem in recent years is that they didn’t have a wannabe tough guy showoff as head coach? How about Art Shell? Sure he didn’t punch anyone but he was as much of a tough guy as anyone. In fact, he was hired to instill discipline. 2-14. Oh, Joe Bugel was no slouch either. And let’s not forget, Callahan was known to call the team out and fight with players, coaches, whoever. We did great in his final year here too, didn’t we? It’s chaotic, and a team recovering from 6 years of failure needs inter staff chaos like they need their plane to go down. It’s like a recovering addict. Chaos is the worst environment. The Raiders need to be in sync, with every single player and coach focused on a common goal. As it stands, our players are just laughing while the coaches are fighting each other, laughing all the way to the bank, at that. While this may make you guys think highly of Cable, to the players it was like Jimmy vs. Timmy on South Park. A straight up retard fight. They don’t care. These guys see real fights at the bars and clubs, with people getting shot in some cases. Two grumpy old coaches brawling is a side show they do not need right now. They need to be focused.

Rebubs will scream naz! & H!tler & no one will vote for them in 2010. August 17th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Maybe this is a “good” distraction? Hopefully the team gets some grit in them too…
August 17th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Cable is supposed to be teaching our players DISCIPLINE. It’s awfully hard to listen to a guy give you a lecture about discipline and how it pertains to drawing penalties, after that same guy just broke the jaw (which is what Napa police are saying) of another coach.
Hopefully this goes the right way for the squad and it’s a mere afterthought and looked at as another petty training camp scuffle.
August 17th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
WOW!! this isn’t good. Let’s see what Cable has to say after practice.
Usually this sort of thing stays in house but the guy’s jaw was cracked. This kind of thing does happen but it rarely gets into the public.

Because all the hospitals are too busy providing care to the illegals to have enough resources to help it’s own people.
You also have county hospitals and clinics shutting down due to poorly run gov programs like mcare and mcal. Many hospitals are now receiving IOUs and yet we now want to provide hcare for all. With what money?

First off mentioning Shell is worthless since he installed an offense that no one was gonna be successful in. We always talk about putting the best guys out there and he hated on Porter for Alvis Whitted which further alienated the team. He went to the facility to punk his players on the daily. Has Cable done that? No Cable isnt alienating players at all. Wow you mention Callahan and the 2003 but fail to mention how Al wanted to go young that year and get rid of all the vets but was talked into it by the players. Anyone with common sense saw that year we werent gonna do a damn thing. The team is in sync more than they have been at any point in the last 6 seasons

Hanson was suspended by Kiffin after the defensive assistant openly questioned the Raiders’ game plan following a 41-14 season-opening loss to the then-Mike Shanahan-coached Denver Broncos.
“It’s a good thing that Shanahan didn’t have our players,” Hanson reportedly blurted out in the presence of other coaches, “or else he would have beaten us 1,000-0.”

We all know that life expectancy is lower in the US than in nations that primarily consume fish and rice…of course we die a little sooner because guys like to eat KFC and McDonalds twice a day.
The fact that you and your scare tactic Dem friends leave out is that life expectancy is at an all-time high in the US because of the wonderful medical breakthroughs our private health care system provides. It is a goddamned miracle we live as long as we do with all the fast food, drugs, ciggs, and booze we consume. Healthcare reform will not stop us from killing ourselves.

………..
It’s an NFL football team, Brien, not the mafia. The policy you seem to subscribe to is not one shared by the NFL’s winning teams. To be the best, you have to do what the best do. And, when the Raiders won in the good old days, that’s exactly what they did. They built great football teams. And the team took practice seriously. They really did play and practic “in sync”, despite their off the field antics, which they’re remembered for just as much as winning.
August 17th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
The bigger question is what happens to Hanson. It would be difficult to believe the guy has much credibility left after the “incident” last year, than getting socked in the jaw by the HC this year. You have to can him.

And yeah Jhill, I have a problem with anyone on my football team that is soft. Huff’s soft play is inexcusable. When its time to tackle someone who looks weak doing it. Those crap ass arm tackles he does have lead to further big plays by the offense. Shutdown Gates,Gonzo and Winslow yeah but misses tackles and gets punish when they block vs his ass. Huff is trash.

C’mon guys, it’s not that big a deal so long as Hansons feelings didn’t get hurt and we win games. You don’t think Rex Ryan would sock an asst? Shyt, we might see him walk right over to Bubblecheck and lay him out during the anthem before there first divisional game.
August 17th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
I tend to keep politics out of my Raider discussions, but stop drinking the Kool-Aid, RaiderTW.
I don’t care if the CEO makes 100 million. That’s his business, just like Chevron is a private business, just like, McDonalds, Ford, GM are all private business.
What gets me is union destroying the ability of Ford GM and Chevy to make a profit. Fact is they sell just as many cars domestically than Toyota and Nissan, but those auto makers aren’t strapped by the insane demands of spoiled union workers. If the fast food industry had a union you could bet McDonalds would one day have there hand out to the government for some cash.
Free markets society affords people the choice of quaility over government intrusion into the private sector. Health care in America is not a right, it is not in our consititution, and lastly it is not unaffordable.
I pay 160 a month for my ppo. I have a contribution of 3,000. Yeah that’s a lot. But I plan for the unexpected. I choose to save money rather than get my nails done, or buy a lot of expensive toys. If I get sick and have to dip into that savings, them are the breaks, it’s called life. But no one gives me health care. I have health care because I choose to have it, and it’s just as easy for others to get it as well.
It’s relative to what people place a higher priority on. I cannot count how many times I see interview with people bitching about not having health care and yet there wearing gold jewelry or sitting on a leather couch, or I see a mother with a weave and nail job she spent 200-300 dollars on so she could go clubbing with her girl friends. “GIRL FRIEND! Obama’s gonna buy me a car, pay my mortgage and get me health care so I’z can have all the abortions I want at the tax payers expense.”
Screw that! And screw everyone who thinks they deserve to benefit off the hard work I do each and every day. I’ve got Raider tickets I want to buy, but the government wants me to pay for someones abortion. F that garbage!
So stop with all this bull about excuses because at the end of the day the only thing stopping people from getting affordable health care is themselves. Not the CEO of Blue cross or Blue Shield. Themselves.
America is a great place because of the people who take advantage of the freedom to prosper, not the people to use that same freedom to sit on their ass and do nothing or very little.

Brien, the only point I made was that a lack of a wannabe tough guy coach has not been our problem. You respond by breaking down the coaching ability and game plans of our coaches. You respond to things that nobody ever said to give others, and perhaps even yourself, the impression that you’re winning an argument. Anyone paying attention with an unbiased view can clearly see what you’re doing. You’re only fooling idiots, and you can have them.

MR, you evidenced the one tough coach we had by his 2-14 record and I responded with why we were 2-14. My point is so what he chipped homeboy. The team for years has been soft.
I remember Howie Long said about Shell’s first tenure and that the team felt good knowing their coach could kick someone’s ass. Now a hall of famer is saying that MR.

August 17th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
Those idiots come to these town hall meetings more to be seen than heard, and think creating chaos makes them great Americans.
We hear that all of this is democracy in action. It’s not. It’s boom-box democracy, people thinking that if they somehow make enough noise on this subject, they can make Obama into a one-term President.
The most violent opposition isn’t directed at his ideas about health care reform. It is directed at him. It is about him. They couldn’t make enough of a majority to beat the Harvard-educated black guy out of the White House, so they will beat him on an issue where they see him as being most vulnerable.
In the process, they’ll come after him on health care the way Kenneth Starr went after Bill Clinton on oral sex in the Oval Office.
With that kind of zealotry, screaming about government programs as if Medicare isn’t one. It is why so many of them, all these wild-eyed red faces in the crowd, look completely certifiable, screaming about how Obama wants to kill Grandma, as if he’s suddenly turned into Jack Kevorkian.

healthcare should be paid for by corporations and the very wealthiest americans…
it should be single payer…
it would allow US corporations to no longer have union strife related to health care…
it would allow US corporations to compete without the burden of having to offer health care packages to their employees… this would save US Corporations billions of dollars and make US goods and services vastly more competitive…
it should be done because it’s good business…

Brien, you’re right, you won. I hate the Raiders and I’m negative. You won, dude! It’s over. You won. I just don’t think the Raiders have a chance of competing in this league until Al Davis, who’s proven himself to be incapable of running a team in the modern day game, retires from football operation. But you’re right. I hate the Raiders, and I’m negative. You won the argument, dude, you won! Yay!

TW,
Make the richest pay, ya class warfare, real nice. More idealogical nonsense.
My wife works for the only somewhat successful government run healthcare, the VA. The only reason it works, is no illegals, they use mostly generic pharms only, and these guys and girls are former marines and such, they don’t get come in everytime little Johnnie gets a cold. None of that would be true with a public option.

David White’s Tweet of the Raiders chanting out “Cable bumaye” while stretching for today’s practice is hilarious! Thats the chant that the crowd did when Ali fought Formean in Africa, so it’s good to see the team is laughing the whole matter off while the media will surely blow the story up 10 times more than it needs to be.

The bad. If there is any truth to this story then Goodell probably gets involved, which means Cable gets suspended at least one game.
The ugly. This Hanson dude decides to file charges after all, and the cops are now involved. Best case, Cable pleads to misdemeanor assault, gets probation, then suspended by Goodell for eight games.
Plus the media smells blood, there will be a sh*t storm for at least the rest of the week.

RealMaddenRaider & Brian the General:
Fellas. . . . .hell of a debate you two have going!
Well, I believe 2 things can be equally true:
RealMadden: I agree with you that this team, at this juncture in time, didn’t need something like this. Things have been so optimistic this offseason that this is a blemish the media will frenzy off of. That we don’t need. But, having said that, I don’t think it will be as big a deal as you’re making it out to be. I think Cable will prove to be a great coach for this team. And I really believe the players like him and will play hard for him.
Brian: I also agree with you that Cable is a “blue collar” tough-guy kind of guy, and frankly, I like that. Kiffin was a weasel. Cable is what-you-see-is-what-you-get.
I think that we’ve been a disgrace of a team for the past 6 years. The numbers don’t lie.
But, I also truly believe we’re onto something finally. There is a great core of young talent on this team and that’s gonna translate to good things in the coming years.
Let’s start with 8-8 this year, 10-6 (wildcard) next year, and 13-3 (Championship game) the year after that.
I think those are reasonable, realistic goals for this team.
I’ll be there for the Saints & every home game as usual.
Go Raiders baby!

…….
Opposed to them what, having Hanson’s back? What does the players’ having Cable’s back demonstrate? It’s still chaos, something the team doesn’t need. Our problem over the past 6 years has not been the lack of a coach willing to get into fist fights with his staff. Get real.
August 17th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
I guess it is just a difference in how we are raised. I come from an Italian-immigrant military family. Our answer to everyone’s problem is quit being a pussy. You don’t have a job or money for healthcare, better learn how to stich yourself up on your own. Life isn’t fair, spare me the compassion and empathy.
My family waited at Ellis island for days, got our last name chopped in half, and than enlisted in the military and ultimately fought against the country they came from. I want that type of dedication from people that want to come to our country. I just don’t see it these days.

Yeah Pete all the under achievers should sponge off the wealthy folks!
Good idea Pete! Pete for President!
Socialism we can believe in right Pete !
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
if the Republicans had held off with their f’d up tax cuts when Bush took office… we would probably have about 1/3 the debt we have now… 3 to 4 trillion instead of the 10 trillion when Bush left office…
the value of the dollar when Bush took office was about 75 cents to the 1 Euro… by the time he left it was about 1.62 to buy that 1 Euro…
tax cuts for the wealthy… it’s almost self defeating… the better the average american does the more disposable income he has… and the more he spends…
the vast majority of that disposable income goes through the pockets of major corporations… profits… it’s what makes them rich…
but when these wealthy f’ers insist on fiscal policy that rewards only themselves to the detriment of everyone else then there inevitably will come a time for them to pay…
what good is a tax cut… if the end result is a devalued dollar???
the truly wealthy already have an enormous array of tax shelters available to them… also most of them make their money from our tax dollars… government contracts… all the big corps have them… and they pay very well indeed… ask Haliburton…
and it really isn’t about class warfare… i know all the arguements about flat tax, sales tax, etc… because i used to make them… it is in the best interests of the wealthy to pay more than their “fair” share… they need to pay that higher dividend in order to subsidize an economy that moves forward…
wealth by definition is money removed from circulation… it needs to get back into circulation…
when the wealthly accumulate too much wealth, an economy will falter, slow down…
i want to take a break… more later… maybe…

The “who cares” attitude amongst Raider fans about this embarrassing incident reminds me of when Romo, an out of control steroid freak, nearly killed a team mate by punching him when he had his helmet off, which is not a scrimmage brawl, it’s an assault, period. “hey, we’re the Raiders. This is just how we do it. We’re going to kick ass”. 4-12.
August 17th, 2009 at 5:07 pm
1) If this is true about Cable, it means the Raiders are finally acting like a family. disfunction is when people talk about each other behind their backs and through the media. Punching each other in the face is what brothers do. The Raiders are finally becoming a family!
2) You Obamacare supporters obviously suffer from a nievety that cannot be cured. Socialism has never and will never work in any way shape or form. And it doesn’t matter if you have the option to stay with your current plan. When 80% of the country is on a gov. health care plan that the other 20% have to pay for, nobody’s going to stay with their current plan. When I hear that some people are without insurance, I say good! it shows that the system works. They obviously feel that it’s not important enough to spend the money on.

********************************************
O.K., now you’re getting on my nerves. I make a comment, primarily backing up your point and you turn smart-ass on me?
If you don’t think Kiffin was a weasel, then nothing you’ve said to date has any substance. Al Davis has his faults, as we all do. But, let’s get one thing straight. The man still, to this day, possesses more football knowledge in a quarter of his brain than you do in all of yours.
You can sit here and cry about why we’ve been a failure for the past 6 years all you want. When the Boston Celtics went through like 10 years of absolutely pathetic basketball, it wasn’t the end of the world. Good franchises always turn it around.
The Raiders were in a Superbowl 6 years ago. And yes, they took John Gruden’s team there.
But, if you want to strip all the credit for that success away from Al Davis and give it all to Gruden, then we should Strip all credit from any owner who hired a good coach.
Fact is, Al hired Gruden when no other team had the foresight to hire him.
What will you say if we go 10-6 and make the playoffs this year?
Will you say it was out of luck?
Was drafting Thomas Howard, Kirk Morrison, Nnaamdi, D-mac, Michael Bush, Chaz Chilenz, Robert Gallery, Mario Henderson, Zack Miller (I can go on and on). . .
Was all that luck?
You people that come on here and do nothing but constantly whine really should root for the Niners.
It’s fine to have complaints here and there, but, all some of you seem to do is Biotch, Biotch, Biotch.
If you have so many problems with this team, why do you waste your time pretending to be “fans”?

Anyhow, back to today’s incident. Forgive me for allowing trolls like RaiderTW and silvernsmac distract me. Tom Cable punching an assistant coach is a sign that things are still chaotic in Oakland. Today’s NFL is more businesslike than ever. Winning teams, especially Super Bowl teams, work in sync, and there is never any bickering amongst the coaches in front of players. A fist fight amongst coaches is unthinkable. A coach that gets into fist fights is not what the Raiders have been lacking in recent years. A coach that can run an organized football team is, and there’s nothing organized about coaches fighting in front of the players. Believe me, when this team is 2-6 at the midway point (possibly worse), I’ll be reminding you guys of this incident, and making arguments considering this event and the chaos amongst the coaching staff as yet another reason for the team failing. You are posting comments on an internet blog… you are just as pathedic as the rest of us. We just don’t take it so seriously. I’d tell you to lighten up, but then you won’t get the attention that you need.

Everyone knows Al Runs the show Just like ones before if you talk to much you get smacked. Kiffin started talking smack and got axed Gruden gave good years but started talking smack to yea he took Dungys team to S.B but did nothing on his own. Cable just was stepping up Hansen probally was running his mouth in front of the team and cable stepped up and cracked him in the jaw.And yea 6 years to rebuild is not far fetched we use to reload not rebulild but that approach has not worked lately not to bring up your team the whinners but they are still trying to rebuild after Joe,craig,Young Rice ect. and they dont look all that.
August 17th, 2009 at 5:49 pm
Don’t know the details, but at least it’s been dealt with, most likely to go away. Fact is if X-rays are required on your jaw, one usually learns to shut up and tow the line.
With out the facts, I say right on to Cable taking charge of his team, all aspects.
August 17th, 2009 at 5:49 pm
Now we know why Gilbride didn’t get the job. Al doesn’t want coaches who get hit in the face……I wouldn’t put too much stock into this incident. It’s not like he punched Tollner, Hackett, or Marshall. Hanson who? Didn’t know of this dude until today.
August 17th, 2009 at 5:50 pm
This happened 2 weeks ago “allegedly” in front of only coaches. Somebody going to testify? Did Hanson just go to the Dr now? Call it an “accident” get away with it like Cheney.
August 17th, 2009 at 5:50 pm
Peter King said today in his MMQB that the Chargers should win the division “by 4 games”.
I don’t mind King, gets good interviews, but know that his predictions are awful, and he admits as much at times.
Also, I thought he was going to our training camp? Today he reported on his trips to SD, SF, Denver, all of the West Coast teams but us of course. What’s up with that?

This incident could be tied to Cable possibly splitting with his wife (if they are not split already). Cable’s wife is also referred to as “Horsehead.” No Lie. Hanson might have mentioned “Horsehead” in a heated argument and BAM! Cable: “Now the both of you’s have matching jaws.”

You are obviously a fu*k boy who probabbly never even comes to Oakland without a police escort. Foothill is actually 3 blocks from E14 St. aka International, which is where the 880 exit on High St is you idiot.
580 is off of Macarthur a long ways from Foothill. LOLOLOL. You idiot.
And naw man, I live by myself. I’m not afraid of Oakland. I’m from here.
Oakland’s all good. The Hells Angels are right down the street. It’s the Birthplace of The Raiders. That makes Oakland the greatest place on earth.
Now go finish sucking Crabtree.
============================
Thanks for proving you’re full of crap, Kush the Puss.
Pay attention, moron.
Yeah, Foothill is close to High st exit..EXCEPT THE COLISEUM ISN’T THE HIGH STREET EXIT, DUMBASS, it’s the Hegenberger exit.
Are you so damn stupid you don’t know that? You also don’t know that as Foothill goes south, it swerves away from 880, and parallel’s 580? Then actually RUNS INTO 580??
Dumbass.
Again, fool. Hegenberger exit to the Coliseum, NOT HIGH ST. You go up Hegenberger 20 BLOCKS BEFORE IT HITS FOOTHILL, MORON. From there it’s 4 blocks east to 580. Or go down foothill, and again, you run into 580.
You’re a lying little wannabee, lol..aren’t you?
You don’t even know what exit to take to get to the coliseum?
And look at you, thinking it’s so scary in that area, lol.
It’s a slum, fool. Bums, rejects, alkies, poppers, stoners, and hookers..streets smell like piss, houses look condemned, and stores have bars on the windows..it’s a slum, little man.
I’m on Coliseum way every week, little man.

It’s actually 65 and 69 Village projects, 71st and Hamilton, and Spencer St. That’s where the Coliseum is. Hood sh*t. If you don’t like the hood, never come to the Coliseum, you might make a wrong turn and end up in a scene like Training day. Freakin’ coward.
Far worse than where you live? YOU STATED YOU LIVED ON FOOTHILL, RIGHT NEXT TO THE COLISEUM.

Makes you wonder about first round WR’s?? Is it worth it to draft a reciever in the first round? Not to slag on DHB, but look at all the first round busts at the position, then a gem like Schillens is looking to be comes around in the 7th!
Now if Russell can figure out how to not wobble the long ball, and get the timing right this offense is going to be explosive.

And when he wasn’t working, he was in his bus going to game sites, and when he wasn’t doing that, he was with his own family. And when he was back here in the Bay Area HE WAS at Raider HQ you damn idiot. What a Know nothing moron you are rack-o-shit.
——————————-
Guess what, shit for brains? Between the Super Bowl and preseason is 7 MONTHS.
Madden lives in Pleasanton…LESS THAN AN HOUR FROM OAKLAND..AND HE NEVER BOTHERS TO TAKE A MOMENT TO EVEN STOP BY.
Let me state it again, you don’t EVER hear about Al Davis EVER spending one single minute with John Madden..anywhere…EVER.
So save that weak “They’re friends”.
Al Davis screwed over Madden, and everyone except the really slow Raider fans know it.
Hell dude, even your fellow Raider fans think you’re slow.
Stupid is as stupid does, dumbass.
August 17th, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Also according to Raiderbeat it occurred Aug 5th. That’s a fact that Jerry didn’t mention.
Watched 1Q of the Carolina vs Giants game. Giants look pretty stout. Carolina good, but not as good as the GMen.
I was just looking to find someway to measure the Raiders offense (thier defense simply wasn’t even close to these two teams) because I needed something to do for the moment. So I re-watched the 1Q vs Dallas afterward. I was impressed. More exciting than Carolina but not as sharp as NY. Suffice to say, the main difference was QB ball placement (JR misfiring the deep balls) and penalties. Otherwise, this offense was just as dynamic if not BETTER.
They just shoot themselves in the foot with the penalties (ex penalities Raiders probably would’ve scored on both drives, 14pts)

Who really cares if Cable socked Hanson in the jaw. The players obviously don’t. The fact that they chanted “Cable Bumaye” shows that either they find it funny or they actually respect Cable for his stand behind closed doors.
Football players sock people for a living. I think they respect their coach being able to stand up for what he believes in.
I can hear Cable’s speech now…
“You guys see how I bitch slapped Hanson? Well that’s how I want you to bitch slap Phillip Rivers on monday Night Football.”
Thunderous applause follows.
======================
Oh geez…another “bright” Raider fan.
No, Kush the Puss, I seriously doubt that a group of guys who routinely lead the NFL in stupid penalties, and chanting “way to go, coach”
And damn..even alluding that Cable would state “That’s what I want you to do in a game” makes you truly dumber than cotton….

The offensive and defensive lines played poorly in the last game. Routt had an awful game. In fact Routt was soo bad, that John Bowie looked good. Other than that, the Raiders certainly showed some bright spots. Greg Ellis looks like a very good free agent acquisition, the corners played well, the RB’s played well, Jamarcus looked good, and one thing that no one here has mentioned is I thought Brandon Myers the TE out of Iowa looked pretty good out there.

Dallas certainly has some solid players on the lines. Granted, with Gallery out, and a brand new center who actually played fairly well, the offensive line was not a disaster, the defensive line was.

Adam Sphincter and Marc Schl-whatever BSPN commentators both said that there is no credible evidence that Cable socked Hanson in the jaw.
They said that they spoke with Cable and he admitted a heated disagreement occured, but that no punches were thrown whatsoever. They concurred that all facts they have agree with Cable’s version of what happened.
They then went on to say that this kind of incident may be something that galvanizes that entire team for the good.
And this report came from the guys that usually hate on us… Ricochet, Madden Raider, and Raider Ron…

August 17th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Or even the early 90’s. I remember in 1991 when I was in army basic training all of seventeen years old and luck if I weighed 90 pounds. The times when a Drill Sergent could kick the dog crap out of you were coming to an end. One of the girls who probably signed up to impress his friends back home realized it wasn’t a game and that guts required wasn’t just in the advertisements but you had to have them to make it.
Anyway, sissy boy refused to get out of his bunk one morning during a smoking session, saying he was sick and Drill walked over, yanked his ass out of bed and kick him, right in the dog ass, like the piece he was. But the guy refused to join the smoke session, causing the Drill Sergent to ass out and give the guy a little attitude adjustment. Even as I was in a great deal of discomfort, struggled in the up position of the front leaning rest, with my bird chest about to explode, I found the beating to be quite funny. And to this day I think a lot of well deserved beat downs, which are quite funny, especially for those stuck on stupid, are unfortunately all too often second guessed to the detriment of society.
Anyway, Drill Sergent was booted, and the puss bag went home. But the flood gates were open to all the sissy boys, and things would never be the same…
From there it progressed to time out stress cards for the new recruits, all the way to no score soccer games, the elimination of first place trophies, A+ students or anything that would separate the men from the boys, the achievers from the slackers, the winners from the losers.
So yeah, I’m happy that a conflict may have been resolved with the good old Jack Johnson and Tom O’Leary. It reminds me of back in the day, working late nights with Fred Wayne at KCBS, who used to jokingly mock me about solving conflicts in the office through the use of physical violence and fisticuffs. Fred Wayne was a Pimp! But he always feared the possibility of a bit(# slap from yours truly.
If you’re listing Fred, the People’s P.A. is still out there, solving problems through the use of physical violence. Sometimes, it’s the only way.
Kudos to the Cable guy.
