NFP: Hanson hit by another coach

Randy Hanson was a virtually anonymous assistant coach until he was suspended for a week by Lane Kiffin.
Now Hanson is in the news again, with the National Football post reporting he was injured in an altercation with another coach and briefly hospitalized.
Kiffin claimed Hanson had medical issues, suspended him and wanted him fired. Al Davis instead backed Hanson. Kiffin was eventually fired “for cause.”
When Davis asked about Hanson the day Kiffin was fired, Davis said, “Yeah, he didn’t do anything. That’s another thing _(Kiffin) said he checked with the doctors. I called Bob Albo last night and he said they called me and they told me I had to give this kid an examination and he’s fine.”
Chances are Hanson will be a witness for Davis in his legal battle with Kiffin over pay.
More on this as it develops later when coach Tom Cable is available to the media following practice . . .

Dakota, the Favre story never seems to go away because it hasn’t gone away. Minnesota players want him. They’re a better team than the Jets and a QB like Favre is just the spark they need to make them a contender this season.

Oh, yeh, nothing meddlesome about that… And we’re talking about some 3rd rate assistant nobody’s even heard of. I could see if Kiff was trying to can Willie Brown or something. Al had no intentions of letting Kiffin coach this football team. And when Kiffin tried to anyway, he was ran out of here. I hope he wins his grievance. Al needs to be drug into the 21st century of NFL football one way or another.

My guess is that Hanson was discovered as the coach that kept feeding stories to Mike Lombardi so they tried to shut him up by breaking his jaw. Cable probably did it himself. After Hanson was released from the hospital he was seen on his cell phone, presumably speaking with MIKE LOMBARDI!

Some polls are credible but when election results go entirely the other way, I think it serves as a pretty good litmus test to how credible a poll is. Election results show the Democratic Party making huge gains in southern states, due to so many southern states having growing cities with growing populations of liberal residents.

I was at a Muni bond firm, but we were full-service. I had a cush job on the trading desk as well, packaging and marketing structured products (mostly equity-linked CD’s and inversion CD’s). They cut that, than cut the salary structure, than they lady threatened with a written complaint. It did go on my U-4, although she hasn’t as of yet went to FINRA.
I have two years to keep my licenses, as you well know, so I am dabbling in the world of senior health care right now, and studying for my life & Health exam. If I don’t like it, I could go back, and I think most of my clients would re-join me. Thanks for the advice and if I would have seen you more on here, I would have definately used the opportunity to pick your brain. You’ve been doing it as long as I have been alive!!!
And BTW, me and you week 1, compadre, in the FFL.

I was at the game and watched Satele. I don’t believe he can move or block someone like Nagata the Ravens player but he sure looks quick in the ZBS and getting to the second level to block. He is a lot quicker of foot than wade and Grove.
I think he will have problems with Jammal Williams, similar to that size if he blocks in the others team 3-4 defense NT.

Lane Kiffin should challenge the Raiders to a scrimmage. Of course the Raiders would win out, but wouldn’t it be funny seeing the Raiders step up to their highest level, in a way they haven’t in years, to avoid embarrassment? Wouldn’t it be great to see the Raiders practice beforehand like it was the Super Bowl, something they could do during their regular NFL season as well, but never seem to do? Kiffin should do it. Just put the offer out there, to hype his players up and show up Al. Vols vs. Raiders, Al. Any time, any place. That would be great for Kiff to throw that out.

Marcus Johnson #78 played real well in the ZBS. I saw him cut on a few running plays as well as pass block real well. The Raiders have him listed as a T, but Cable has refereed to him as a guard.

I thought the game was encouraging. The Offense looked way better then I expected, but on the flip side the defense looked way worse then I suspected.
Most of those big runs were at Trvor Scott who was being ABSOLUTELY ABUSED!! Swappin in Jay Richardson should help there. Unless its 3rd and 20, T. Scott should not be on the field.

I play with Bush at FB, AZ.
Try running weakside. It’s all about how you set up your blocks. AND, I totally pass to set up the run.
Try the counterplay out of the singleback 2TE set. Run the play to the right side, and before the snap, bring Miller in motion to overload that side. Without question, minimum 8 yd play.
Of course all of this is with McFadden, not Fargas, LOL!

Raider 405, these fights are just stupid. We’re talking about a coach involved melee. Not cool. Again, imagine this happening to one of the good teams in the league. It would be a shock. This is not the ’70s. NFL teams have to be well organized operations today. In fact, even in the ’70s we didn’t have players cold cocking coaches. Players that have written about that era speak of an argument between John Madden and John Matuzsack during a practice that shocked everyone, because they’d never seen a player and a coach argue. Some of you guys have delusional views of what the Raiders are all about. The Raiders were a lot more organized in the good old days than people think. They were not just a bunch of party animals that screwed around during the week then just happened to win on Sunday. They were serious on the practice field. They considered practice as important as games. And showing up a coach in any way was unacceptable, just as it is today in Pittsburgh and Indy.

Once Dallas recovered from having bad field position the first drive they ran the ball down our throat on that second drive. Sure Romo scored on a TD pass but they could have ran the ball in there easily. Exit Dallas starters after 7-3 first quarter domination.

SNB, we got our butts kicked on every drive when the first stringers were on both sides of the ball. The play calling was hideous. We only got a field goal due to a pass interference hail mary. SNB, we got our butts kicked on every drive when the first stringers were on both sides of the ball. The play calling was hideous. We only got a field goal due to a pass interference hail mary. Heaving balls down field, into coverage, hoping for the PI. Yeh, a new and improved Raiders alright… No one on one coverage in either of those deep balls, safety was there every time. Oh, and the first one should have been picked off but Dallas’s safety muffed it.

Neither Hanson nor the coach who threw the punch were identified in a Napa, Calif., police report taken Aug. 6 at Queen of the Valley Hospital. But one well-placed NFL source told FanHouse of the attacker: “It’s a well-known coach. Very well-known.”
Pressed to confirm the identity of the attacker, the source said, “It was Cable who hit him.”
“The victim didn’t even want any police action taken,” McGovern told FanHouse, “but we were following hospital policy that authorities be contacted in cases where there may have been an assault.”
Hanson previously served under former Raiders coach Lane Kiffin as an assistant defensive backs coach. The two clashed famously in Sept. 2008 when Hanson was suspended by Kiffin after the defensive assistant openly questioned the Raiders’ game plan following a 41-14 season-opening loss to the then-Mike Shanahan-coached Denver Broncos.
“It’s a good thing that Shanahan didn’t have our players,” Hanson reportedly blurted out in the presence of other coaches, “or else he would have beaten us 1,000-0.”
Kiffin suspended Hanson for five days, causing a rift among a divided Raiders coaching staff that caused owner Al Davis to intervene. By that time, Kiffin and former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan were openly battling over defensive philosophy. By Week 1 of the ‘08 season, Davis already was compiling a dossier to document reasons to dismiss Kiffin. The Hanson incident was one more page for the report.
Asked about the Hanson outburst, Kiffin said last September, “Randy had some personal issues going on. Randy still did some work for us, but he spent some time at home to get some things straight in his personal life.”
Raiders senior executive John Herrera told the National Football Post that Cable would address the latest Hanson controversy following the team’s practice on Sunday, but that did not happen.
The Raiders have a single 3:30 p.m. PT practice Monday, after which Cable is expected to answer questions about the alleged assault.

Nothing against Hanson, don’t know anything about him, but I appreciate Tommy kickin it old-school Raider style with some insanity. I was afraid that while the team is getting better it might also be losing its classic Raiders persona.
Hopefully this doesn’t morph into an out-of-control distraction but gives the haters just enough firepower to overlook and write off this much-improved Raider team once again.

Yes a business cycle. We had excessive growth from 2000-2006, maybe you noticed your house doubling in value and your 401K going up 50-75%. Now housing values are right where they were at in 2002 and the dow is about at where it was after 9/11. That would be called a cycle, my friend.
