Like I said, things have a way of working themselves out.
If Javon regains stride this offense won’t miss a beat. Now if someone else important goes down …it could be a bigger problem.
DHB/”healthy and ready” Javon/ JLH/Murphy I can live with …but let it stop there with the injuries.

Cable should send a box of Omaha Steaks to ‘ol #4. Got him pushed to the back burner as BSPN, pft.com, nfp et al. are to busy washing Brett’s huevos.

Fargas and Bush and the occational DMAC have been doing it to our LB’s all of camp. Whats the differnence? Gore is a top flight back, he’s suposed to be able to put a good pass block on a LB. It’s in the job discription fasho!

Good thing is, the last time Jerry said something positive about the Raiders, I think like and week or so ago, he said Javon Walkers hands looks “amazing” or maybe he just used “very very impressive”. We need those hands, because if you haven’t noticed, Chaz and Miller were the only guys thrown to that have been able to catch those hot passes.

I’m not making excuses. I never said our linebackers are studs. I just said Frank Gore is a stud. Don’t read too much into it. Our linebackers are under acheiving and OUR RB’s have been blowing them up.

I really dont think for a second it was cables fist that broke his jaw. Really, can you picture that? The story reported by ESPN was that Hanson mouthed off to Marshall, swearing and raising his voice at his superior, Cable gets pissed and kicks a chaie in his direction, as he jumps our of the way to avoid being tagged in the leg with a chair his dumb asss smashed his own face into a cabinet.
As a matter of fact some BS like that happend to me years back. My buddy threw a tennis ball at me while playing in the back yard, I jumped to the side to avoid it and split my head open on the shed. He shouldn’t have thrown the ball at me, but I woulda rather had the tennis ball hit me that the damn shed.

I don’t trust DHBs hands to be the #1 at this point.
Walker is an enigma and Louis Murphy is a rookie.
Might as well speed up Walker’s reappearance and get him on the field so that Russell has someone to get acquainted with.

Yeah, just got back home an hour or so ago and saw that blog entry.
That really messes things up to be brutally honest.
Schilens would have drawn attention and made plays…now they don’t really have that reliable every down wide receiver.
DHB is still just too damn raw, JLH would have to step up big time…Murphy is still a work in progress….and we have no idea what Walker is going to do given his past problems.
Guess we just have to roll with it. But it certainly takes a huge bite out of the potency of this offense….Especially on 3rd down

I’m personally not gonna trip. The young guys got to find a way to make plays regardless.. As long as DMAC/Bush get the reps out of the backfield the offense should be fine

The Raiders signed that Panthers WR last year and he had a great connection with Jamarcus Russell. He got hurt and was out for the season. Now Russell gets a connection with Schilens and he gets hurt as well. Is JR cursed or something?
I still believe Walker will have a breakout year but the way Schilens was playing would have opened the door for Walker but now he could get more attention on him. It looks more and more like DHB is going to end up start on the other side since teams will likely double cover him and draw the defense back. Higgins still fits the role on the inside slot although he could start opposite of Walker with DHB in the middle instead. I don’t know if Murphy is ready but maybe hes more like Schilens in ability?

Yeah, but the big problem last year was Russell struggled without a real go-to receiver….it wasn’t until Schilens and JLH teamed up that the Raiders had a workable offense.
Russell is in a bit of a spot. Has to save his career without his #1 guy again. Tough deal

You see Tim…much like say…Rush Limbaugh, you lack any real credibility with regard to the Raiders and your reporting. Yeah, that two yrs in a row of injury that causes him to miss multiple games….three if you count his injury plagued senior year in college…which allowed him to drop to the 7th round.
Its a tough break….some players just can’t stay healthy and it ends up moving their careers sideways…

When he was butting heads with Al Davis, and refusing to talk with Al, he was coaching the Raiders, not Al.
Al’s an old codger, decrepid in his ways, gnarly at best, stubborn as a mule, obstinate as hell.
