The Raiders passing offense was embarrassed by the 49ers defense Wednesday, and they stood taller in admitting it afterward then they did on the field in taking it.
Raiders coach Tom Cable assumed responsibility, saying his command for JaMarcus Russell to “turn it loose” caused some poor decisions which resulted in 49ers interceptions _ three of which were recorded by San Francisco cornerback Nate Clement.
Russell shrugged it off, citing it as “not the end of the world,” and looked forward to an afternoon rematch, as did tight end Zach Miller and running back Darren McFadden.
Some of the grusome details are on on my Twitter page.
It’s not all bad news. My spies tell me the Raiders defense, while not generating turnovers, more than held its own against the 49ers offense on the other side of the field.
More news, notes and quotes to come later before the second practice begins.
