By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Friday, August 21st, 2009 at 1:47 pm in Oakland Raiders.

The following information was released today on the Napa Police Department Web site as a press release:

Assault Investigation (Oakland Raiders)

On August 6, 2009, the Napa Police Department was dispatched to the Queen of the Valley Hospital regarding a report of an alleged assault that had occurred the previous day at the Raiders Training Camp Facilities in Napa, CA. The victim reported he had been assaulted by a staff member of the Raider’s organization. The incident took place at approximately 10:00 AM on August 5, 2009.

Upon initial contact the victim did not want any police action or formal charges filed. The victim refused to identify the responsible or any potential witnesses. Due to a lack of information provided to the police department the case was closed. Since that time, new information has come to light which has resulted in the investigation to be re-opened. Due to this being an ongoing criminal investigation no other information will be provided at this time. Any future updates related to this case will be posted in the Press Releases section on the Napa Police Department’s webpage at the following address: www.napapolice.org

I’m waiting to hear if Hanson presses charges today.
    ————————————————

LOL. Why would he press charges?? So he could never work for a football team at any level again??? That would be like Alan Kovac turning vince Neil of Motley Crue in for doing drugs. What is Kovac going to do next? Go work for Ozzie??

Still not ready to discuss the secret surgery, Walker did concede it was indeed performed outside the country — D. White

Walker is a weird as dude. Who has knee surgery out of the country.”

    RaiderTay

My thought is that he had some kind of cutting edge, new medical treatment that involved stem cells or something that is illegal in the US. Either that or he had psychic surgery in the Phillipines and they pulled out some chicken guts from his knee.

  11. lefty12 Says:

hopefully, not likely though,Davis will realize keeping someone around because he is his little snitch doesn’t benefit the team.at least AD said he didn’t want to undermine his HG.possibly a move in the right direction.

  12. 4evaRaider Says:

    Later Dogg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Dakota Says:

This might lead to an obstruction of justice charge against Al Davis if he tries to finagle Hanson into dropping the charges and/or tries to get Brown, Marshall and Washington to back Cable’s side of the events.

  14. KoolKell Says:

My guess is that he had to file charges to get serious attention for a settlement.

    Most likely case scenario

  17. The Big Banana Says:

One thing about this Hansen punk. He’s got Davis by the nuts. Don’t think anyone’s ever done that.

I think a nice healthy settlement is forthcoming. Hansen’s career is probably done. Wants to get a little rich now. Probably also wants to ruin Cable.

  18. Dakota Says:

“Choking Hanson while threatening to kill him could ratchet up the charges to attempted manslaughter,” says San Francisco Examiner legal analyst Melissa Griffin. “Attempted manslaughter is the charge when someone attempts to kill another person in the heat of passion. In addition, the choking plus jaw injury means that Cable can be charged with aggravated assault, which is a felony.”

What? Come on, we have the Teflon coach! If five horribly embarrassing losses, failing to play the best players and an inability to call goal line plays unless they are drawn up on the sideline by the players can’t get the man fired, no way he goes to jail!

case probably reopened after Davis said “i’m backing Cable. can’t afford to go 5-11 again”

would anybody here rat out thier boss to some psycho soon-to-be fired employee who likes to run his mouth?

whats the #1 quality Davis expects from the people who work for him? Loyalty.

anybody who goes against Cable is basically going against Davis, since Davis is backing him.

  22. KoolKell Says:

Nothing at all against Tom Cable, but, this is just another example counterproductive bullshyt Al Davis’ management produces.

And for him to even think he had the kinda juice to instigatea confrontation with the DC that escalates to this?

    This is ALL on Al!

  34. Dakota Says:

Neal cut to make room for Baker

By Jerry McDonald – NFL Writer
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 at 6:35 pm in Oakland Raiders.

That the Raiders would bring back Rashad Baker, a productive special teams player and safety last season, is no surprise.

The person they cut to make room is a different story.

Fullback Lorenzo Neal, a 17-year veteran and regarded as one of the premiere blockers at his position, was cut. Neal didn’t finish the first practice because of a hamstring pull.

Didn’t Kiffin want to sack this guy? Anyway, while I don’t have the facts, it seems to me Hanson is setting up a payday, and that’s not good for anybody.

Nothing at all against Tom Cable, but, this is just another example counterproductive bullshyt Al Davis’ management produces.
    =======================================================
Sad and true. Now all the coaches will have to go through interviews and depositions….Cable might get hauled into the court room during the season….why?

Because Al Davis management skills are no longer effective in the modern era.

This Hanson guy is a caricature. How does a clown like that hold down an NFL job….to be a snitch no less…probably talking “Boss Hog” to other players and coaches.

Al Davis really needs some help. His organization is a mess

  83. RaiderRockstar Says:

“We at the Napa Police Department, our officers investigated it to the best of our abilities, but we were handling it as a misdemeanor,” McGovern said. “But a broken jaw does make it a felony – that is why the case is being reopened.”

On Thursday, a report on the National Football Post Web site said that Hanson was choked and had his life threatened by Cable, according to unidentified sources. The report said Hanson’s attorney, John McGuinn, would turn over medical reports to the Napa police Friday.

McGuinn did not return calls seeking comment on Friday.

The National Football Post story cited unidentified sources who gave a detailed account of what seemed to be Hanson’s side of the story. The sources said Cable knocked Hanson out of his chair and into a cabinet, choked him on the ground and threatened twice to kill him before other coaches broke it up.

Any crime committed by an NFL employee, including head coaches, would be considered a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

With or without criminal charges, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has the authority to impose a fine and/or suspension on anyone he determines broke the rules.

Jaxon Van Derbeken, Chronicle Staff Writer

  84. lefty12 Says:

it seems this clown is essentially trying to blackmail the Raiders-or would it be called extortion.anyway,we should get a good idea about how AD feels about Cable by how he reacts.will he support him or throw him under the peripheral bus?

  85. SnB offense defense specialteams Says:

All I have to say…is that they better get an assistant coach schooled up to take over when Cable gets pulled.

I am going to guess something happened…and the law is what it is…and you can best believe that Commissioner Goodell is looking for an opportunity to apply the conduct policy to a non-player to demonstrate fairness.

Not good folks…depositions….court time…and what if Hansen does a civil suit….This could tie up Mr. Cable for awhile….and courts don’t care about schedules or anything.

Thanks Mr. Davis for FORCING Tom Cable to have to work with a clown like Mr. Hansen. Good freekn work.

    Get a GM

  86. RaiderRon Says:

Wow! The Hansen is Als spy theory is starting to carry some water.

  87. Dakota Says:

  88. Simon Says:

Al fire them both then fire yourself. This is yet another embarrassment and totally ridiculous.

  89. SnB offense defense specialteams Says:

Cable demoted the guy because he was confusing the cornerbacks and safeties on the field.

What the hell is Al Davis’ problem with allowing a head coach to do his damn job!

  90. RaiderRockstar Says:

“Yeah, we’re still going to take care of it internally,” Cable said. “One thing I will tell you is this _ when all the facts come out, everything will be fine.”

    ***

Tom Cable is a no nonsense guy and a straight shooter according to almost everyone. He said “when all the facts come out” which means all the facts haven’t come out yet … the more we’re hearing, the worse it looks for Cable

He wouldn’t say “everything will be fine” and “no punches were thrown” if that wasn’t true. My guess is either Hanson started it or somebody else shoved Hanson

    Hanson……… Stop Snitching…….
Or if you ever come opon any member of the Raider Nation. Your Gonna have more than a broken Jaw…….
    GO RAIDERS…

  99. Jombus1 Says:

GO Cable! All I have to say is remember last season when Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers punched a teammate in the face in which he sustained injury. He was only suspended one game. That is the WORST POSSIBLE scenario. Most likely, Cable will be fined a hefty penalty, like 75,000 to 100,000 dollars.

Hanson got suspended LAST YEAR by Kiffin for being a loud mouthed punk. He needed someone to bust him right in the grill. Cable did. We call that leadership.
    ==========================
Typical dumbass reply from the resident clown.

Punching someone is what you call leadership?

No, moron. That’s called assault, you ignorant fool.

It’s called jail time. It’s called a rap sheet. It’s called lawsuits. It’s called league punishment.

You’re a little dweeb, aren’t you? Little fatass? Mama’s boy? Live vicariously through others? In this case, the Raiders?

Admit it, bitch. You get picked on alot, don’t you? And now you’re reduced to propping a loser throwing a sucker punch, and calling it “leadership”.
See, most Raider fans don’t want the hassle of calling out other raider fans as being tools, fools, and asswipes.
So I get to do it. :)

    and it’s free

    Is that cool, or what?

    Tom Cable is the MAN!!!!
    =================================
You mean Tom Cable is the COWARD!!!!

    a MAN challenges you.

A coward throws a sucker punch.

Being the head coach of a NFL team, and throwing a sucker punch?

Makes him the dumbest coward on the planet.

#102…………where you there to watch the alledged fight? NO! then STFU! STUP!D

  104. encinitasraider Says:

I think the only reason the case was reopened is the police found out the Jaw was broken. So they want to ask more question to Hason and Cable. Plus they will ask the 3 other Riader Coachs,Washington,Marshall and Brown. I got a feeling that Cable story will match everyone’s else except Hanson. Hanson as of today has not even gone on record. so i bet the MF is trying to milk big AL who is no cow.

  105. encinitasraider Says:

I forgot to add the new chant for all our home games:
    Cable bumaye…….Cable bumaye…….Cable bumaye…….Cable bumaye…….
