RobG

Its not a matter of giving up your missing the point no one "Gave UP" we are all still here and excited for the season! I will be at the games this year, will you?

Some of us are just not as myopic as you and others and realize that we cant stop the run no matter how you want to sugar coat it.

And any one with a football IQ above 80 will tell you that is a key element of wining games in the NFL.

We have not through the draft or free agency addressed the issue almost completely ignoring it if you ask me.

So if you want to believe that a magical leprechaun will appear when the season starts and the issue will go away then by all means its your American right to bury your head in the sand.

Just because concerned, life long, paying fans voice their concern about our run defense does not mean that we are throwing in the towel. Just means that want the issues addressed.

Now if you want to perceive that as giving up then you have perception issues. I suggest therapy.

The mentality on defense SHOULD be to dare opponents to run the ball. Not hope the opponent won't run it.

Hey guys, we have what we have. But to say or act as if this ship has sunk before it's even set sail is pretty weak. In other words, you're not the kind of people I'd take into battle with me here in Iraq with all your crying.

Take a look at some of the positives once in a while. We're all in agreement that a lot of work needs to be done on defense, both on and off the field, and the front office. But the fact remains we have a team that has some fight in them this year. I'm sure they really want to play for a bunch of cry babies fans that are considering them a lost cause for the season after the second preseason game.

I don't like the six years of losing either, but I see this team making progress, and I still maintain this team will win in Oakland against the Chargers on Monday night.

Hell, if you're giving up on this team before the season starts, why are you even here?

If you go back and look at the 49ers first drive. 1st down run 1yd, 2nd down run 2yds, 3rd pass and we were in a 3/4 front with T Scott up and free he actually rushed in the A-gap. Their first 5-6 runs at the DT's was un successful.

Someone said last night had we scored early like we should've we may have been able to force them to pass and GAME OVER!!
