Hawkins in, Parker out

The Raiders waived wide receiver Samie Parker and added defensive back Michael Hawkins to the roster, according to the transactions page at Raiders.com.

An Oklahoma product, Hawkins has been with Green Bay (fifth-round draft pick), Cleveland, Minnesota, Dallas and Tampa Bay. He was cut by Dallas on Aug. 17, signed with the Bucs two days later, and then released.

Hawkins played 11 games with Green Bay in 2005 and seven with Cleveland in 2006. He has one career start.

I’ll have a post-practice blog later. The Raiders practice today at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m., their final practice in Napa.

Will have practice updates on my Twitter page.

Denny is a bastard loser IMO. I can care less what he likes. He doesnt like russell but yet drafted Culpepper is quite similar to Russell

Grad sucks and so does Frye………..but both are better than Garbage-cia

  • AZ Raider

He’s just telling it how he sees it NOW Norco. I’m a beleiver in Russell, but I’m the first to admit he’s having trouble being cosistant. One thing Denny said I don’t agree with is when he said he didn’t think Russell can make “all the throws”. I beg to differ with him. Russell can make all the throws, he just needs to be able to do it the same every time. Consistancy, thats all… It’ll come.

  • Brien the General

I’m not the biggest Russell fan. I didnt even want to draft him but there is no other QB to have start for the Raiders. He has to workout or the 2006-2008 seasons were all for nothing and the franchise is setback another 5 years

  • Norco Bob

Ok, say a basic 15 yard out,..like the one he missed horribly in sf to dhb,..an nfl qb should NEVER miss that basic pass, and he makes about half of those if hes having a great day,…just a big dude with a big arm who in my opinion didnt stand out in college….beat a crappy overrated notre dame team,..bfd.

  • Norco Bob

If sanches starts out like ryan and flacco did, that will make me sick, those rookies are so far ahead of russell its not even close.

  • Brien the General

Doesnt Denny Green look like Carl Winslow from “Family Matters”

  • Nnamdi21

    105. Seriously Norco come on…

Jets have an O line populated with 1st round draft picks and an established running game. Flacco had on the elite defenses making his job easier.

    Russell’s got…

    Exactly…

  • Norco Bob

Ya,..I bet Erkle can play qb as good as russell.

lets hope for a miracle that the old man starts to draft better!
    ……………………………………………….

Nothing wrong with the old mans draft the last 3 years. He needs to change his deffensive mindset however.

3-4 BABY! Get with the program Al!=
    —————————-
    Last 3 years?
Russell-talk is if no major progress this year, bust.
McFadden-has done ZERO. Can’t break tackles. Goes down once touched. Same knocks in college.
Bey-Can’t catch the ball. In two games has done zero.

Care to revise your statement, sir?

In other words, you don’t have a clue.
    ………………………………………………

    Damn your a girl…

At least he’s suited up, unlike your boy Crabtree LOL.

    ——————-

    Again, you’re an idiot.

I prove you have your head up rear, and you reply about Crabtree???

So, in other words, I’m right.
    Yeah, I know.
Next time just state ‘You are absolutely correct. I’m sorry for ever doubting you. Let’s discuss Crabtree.”

Ok, your turn. You try it.

Fuk Craptree. The 49ers just wasted a pick like some morons. He wasn’t going to be good anyway. Another overrated WR who never saw a double team. Half of his receptions were from WR screens and we were just suppose to jump at the idea of drafting a slow bastard who got ran down by college linebackers who now sell insurance. Great
    ————————
    No, shit for brains.
The wasted pick was your boy, Bey.
See, he’s laughing all the way to the bank. Guaranteed 23 mil, and HE SUCKS.

Crabtree hasn’t gotten a single penny from the Niners, and he’s had as much impact as that fakeass joke of a WR the Raiders stupidly signed.
Everyone laughed at the Raiders on draft day.
Raider fans “But he will be a great deep threat”

    And everyone is still laughing.

As far as Crabtree? You don’t know anything about him, do you, fool?
Only won every single receiving award in college, including the first rookie EVER to win the Belitnikoff award (you know, BEST WR IN THE COUNTRY)

Oh..and the ONLY receiver EVER to win the Belitnikoff award TWICE.

Bey? Won the Girl Scout “sold the most cookies” award.

And we’re so proud of him, and you, for being dumber than cotton.

  • Brien the General

Wasted pick was DHB but yet the guy who the 49ers picked hasn’t signed yet and he isn’t wasted lol. Does he know the offense yet? Is he working hard with his teammates?

Wow we are talking about impact and the regular season hasn’t even bgun hahahahahahahahaha. I’d rather have shit for brains than the empty space that dwells inside your skull. Our season starts sept 14th. You know the preseason holds no weight for teams that make the playoffs?

Yeah Craptree hasn’t got a single penny from the 49ers because he is a damn diva fool ass bitch. You two have a lot in common.

Ha I dont know anything about Craptree? Go look in the archives. I constantly bashed how garbage he is. Oh college awards mean alot huh? How about Eric Crouch? Ever heard of Rashaan Salaam? It is about what he will do in the NFL. College ball is in the past now. DHB is already off to a better start in his pro career because he is at least around the team facility. Some reporter says “what do you think of so and so, and he gives a generic politically correct statement on a player his former team signed and that, to you means that all of a sudden McFadden’s little pencil legs are now massive weapons?
He has THE SMALLEST LEGS OF ANY RB IN THE LEAGUE..that’s a fact.
And small legs means small leg muscles which means, try or not, once he’s touched, he goes down.

Which, incidentially, so does that big fat blob, Russell.
Guys huge, but once someone gets a hand on him, he crumbles like a cheap tent.

For that matter, it appears the toughest hit anyone on the Raiders delivered was a cheap blind shot from your coach.
    Yep, LMFAO.

  • Brien the General

You dont know football at all Bitchochet. I know a lot about Craptree. Didn’t run any pro style routes and played a video game gimmick ass offense. Doesnt jump extremely well and never made enough plays for any jump balls. Never saw double teams due to playing in that garbage spread offense. The Big 12 defenses were a joke and makes you wonder why no big 12 Dbs got drafted eh? When Tech played the best team in the big 12 what did Craptree do? Nada and they were undefeated and got wiped with sandpaper

Jamarcus’ last pass to Murphy for the TD might have been the best pass I ever seen him throw. I DVR’d it, and seen it a dozen times.

He had confidence and stepped up in the pocket (good pass procection), and completely took advantage of a bad defense. He has never looked better IMO, which isn’t saying much since he hasn’t looked all that great before that, but we got to see a glimpse of #1 overall pick talent.

Only a handful of QB’s in the league have enough arm to even throw that pass, better yet make it look so easy. That shyt was amazing.

He’s the least of my worries going into the season. Even sporting a new official #2 jersey, so I’m all in with the big guy.

Note to Fat Ass JaMarcus. Hey, sucker, get you act together and start producing, we’re paying you enough money and this is your third year. You blew away your first year, because you and your asshzle agent tried to
rip off our team buy trying to establish a contract where you got paid all your money if you got hurt. You, JaMarcus, blew off your first year. Take responsibility for your actions.

Mark Sanchez was just named the started for the Jets, because he and his agent didn’t try to rip off the Jets, and they signed so that he didn’t waste any time like you.
Plus he must have the brains to learn the system adequately so that they can start him and let him progress with experience. Good for him, I wish him well.

So, Fat Ass JaMarcus, produce and try to off set the damage you created in your first year. You can start producing now. Like the Warden told Fritz in the Shawshank

I don’t know Brien, DHB looks awfully stiff to me and doesn’t look real confident. We could chalk it up to being a rookie and all, but Murphy’s doing it out there.

That kid has the Gator swagger, we can see it already. Reminds me of a young Andre Rison.

  • Brien the General

DHB does look a little stiff no doubt. Murphy is a player for sure. Murphy a florida guy. In that stae they dont lack confidence about playing the game of football

Back to DHb, I’m sure he will continue to work hard. Drops will be an issue for him this year more than likely but we will have to see. I just know that his speed and size will scare teams and open up things for other players throughout the year. Even guys like James Jett scared defenses and that guy was awful

    Height: 6-2. Weight: 210.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.33.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.30.
    Vertical: 38.5. Broad: 10-6.
Projected Round (2009): Top 7-40 Pick.
2/23/09: Darrius Heyward-Bey is a great player. Well, at least in Al Davis’ eyes. DHB won’t make it past Oakland in Round 2, thanks to a 4.30 40.

YES, LMFAO..”won’t make it past Oakland IN ROUND 2″

Round TWO, fool..and here your dumbasses took him at #7.

Want more? I can rub it in, over and over and over, if you like..

Oh..and who is the # 1 choice of almost EVERYONE??

You can figure it out, can’t you?
    ****************************

This is why you are stupid! You said EVERYONE. Do you know what that means?

We haven’t even really seen Murphy in the open-field yet. I can’t wait, you can just tell he’s got some wiggle in him, against Dallas he was juking and evading people on one reception.

I think JLH and Murphy are going to be our two most productive WR’s this year. Chaz and Walker are injury-prone, and DHB just ain’t comy yet.

To scare the defensives, DHB has to make some receptions out there and get some rhythm with Jamarcus. That out on the 3rd play in SF just looked they weren’t even close to being on the same page.

DHB is better than any damn WR the 49ers have outside of Isaac Bruce who is old as hell
    ===========================

Hell, our 6th rd pick, Josh Morgan alone makes Bey look like a cripple.

You used one site and used the one that first pops up in google. congrats. That was a rookie move kid. try again

The Washington Post said he was viewed as a late first rounder

Ffootballbox.com said he should go in the first round

fantasnyfootballjungle.com believed he was going in the first as well

That is just a few I can go on more if you like. but your everyone stance has been shot down kid
