I’m lovin’ it? Times are hard for the papers.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:24 am
Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said Sunday that his team isn’t going to trade wide receiver Brandon Marshall(notes). But the word is that the team is trying to deal him and would love to get rid of him. He hasn’t exactly been Mr. Sunshine in the locker room lately, which has not surprisingly helped his chances of being traded.
Remember that McDaniels said earlier this year that the team wouldn’t trade quarterback Jay Cutler(notes) and then they ditched Cutler off to the Chicago Bears.

Anyways FFL:
If you don’t check you e-mail guys, I need a RB bad. I’m willing to give up Randy Moss to get one. Bring on the trade offers.
VEGAS:
I just sent one to ya.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am
VEGAS:
I didn’t expect THAT one to get excepted but it was worth a try.
I’ll send a more reasonable one.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am
AZ,
I seen it and shot you down. I got Joe Addai on the bench, maybe be willing to part with him. Need WR’s.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am
What’s goin’ on, VR? Ya, long time, no talk.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:26 am
I see you need a WR. But for Moss it’s gonna have to be a pretty good RB.
What would you want for Grant?
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:27 am
Vegas…I read that Rankin could still be put on the practice squad, but Gary Russell cant
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:28 am
Huff is poor in coverage and worse at tackling.
Eugene is very poor in coverage but can certainly tackle.
I think Eugene is the lesser of two evils.
The safety position will probably end up being Mitchell at SS and Branch at FS, with Baker the occasional center field when they go 3 or 4 deep.
I don’t expect this to occur anytime before the bye.
If Huff can turn in more plays like the one vs. Dallas, maybe he sticks or gets limited reps on obvious passing downs. I just don’t see it happening, though.
***
LA to TheBay: are you kidding me? Huff is our best cover safety.
you want to cut him in favor of Eugene & Branch?
these guys can’t cover Brandon Myers, Tony Stewart, Chris O’Neill, Darrell Strong & Marcel Reece!
I’m not looking forward to facing Antonio Gates on MNF if Huff is out of the lineup.
You need to quit listening to Jerry Mac saying “He’s always a step late in coverage during OTA’s”. Real games is where you’ll find hard evidence that shows just the opposite. He’s all over the league’s best TE’s like stink on horse pucky
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:29 am
RRS
Huff was more effective covering tight ends.
When they stick him in centerfield, he blows tackle after tackle.
He’s had very few INTs and passes defensed.
Raiders will play a S in the box and one deep. Huff isn’t really suited for either.
He is also major liability against the run.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:30 am
Addai… Eh, I’d do Devin Hester for Him, or Desuan Jackson for Grant + one of your recievers.
OR – Randy Moss & Bush for Grant + Chad Johnson?
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:35 am
What are you Al Davis? Desean Jackson for Grant + a WR????
I’m keeping Ocho.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:37 am
I just need a filler WR to take Mosses spot.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:38 am
I see little Ricky is still in here phaggin it up. A 49r begging for attention on a daily basis from Raider men. It’s really quite sad.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:39 am
I’ll come up with something and we can offer and counter offer until we hammer something out.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:39 am
Eh fyck it. Its not for $$$. Ill have to stick with the hand I was delt.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:40 am
I’ll consider any offers you come up with though VEGAS.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:41 am
Eugene is NOT a good tackler. He’s awful!
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:43 am
I think Eugene is a better tackler than Huff right now
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:46 am
You are just holding him to a higher standard because he was the #7 pick. Huff is not a tackling machine, but he is BY FAR a better player than Eugene.
Eugene is the Justin Fargas of the secondary.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:48 am
I don’t put a whole lotta stock in OTAs. I see Huff on an island blowing tackles, wheras Eugene is not as good in coverage but can tackle.
Like I said, I’ll take the lesser of two evils, if you will.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:50 am
HUFF WOULDNT START FOR ANY OTHER TEAM. IMO
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:50 am
You’d prefer a FS who can’t cover?
Never mind that is his PRIMARY role.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:51 am
LA to TheBay : Huff only started 5 games at FS last year before Cable took over and benched him. Thats after 2 years at SS.
Give me the name of one safety who ever had even a small amount of success under Rob Ryan in Oakland the past 5 years …
Give Huff the FS job. play centerfield. no more interchangeable safety garbage or LB’s dropping back and safeties playing up. Thats total bs.
If he doesn’t make a difference this year under a new/capable DC, then let him go try his luck elsewhere in FA. He shouldn’t be cut in favor of a few scrubs on the scholarship program before he ever gets a shot under the Marshall Plan
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:52 am
Cmon you guys ….
We are not talking about any other team. We are talking about HIRAM EUGENE.
Your focus is a bit off, IMO.
How about fixing the front 7 so the FS isn’t making TD saving tackles 5 or 6 times a game?
The FS’s job is not stopping the run.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:52 am
yes Hiram Eugene is a beast in run support.
where did our run defense rank again?
and he’s going to start at FS because you THINK he’s an average tackler? ballhawk & cover skills are important for a guy playing centerfield and Eugene is abused in pass coverage time & time again – Huff isn’t
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:54 am
WE NEED SOMEBODY LIKE ED REED!!! TO BAD AL DOSENT LIKE THOSE TYPE OF PLAYERS. HE MUST NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RUN A 4.3 40.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:55 am
The FS’s job is not stopping the run.
***
you mean Brian Dawkins alone won’t transform the donks into a Top 10 run stopping defense?
shoot!
I better go drop Broncos DST in fantasy football! LOL
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:56 am
WE SHOULDNT HAVE TO BE ARGUING ABOUT ARE SAFETIES STOPPING THE RUN. THAT SHOULD BE HANDLED 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME BY THE D LINE AND LB’S GOES TO SHOW YOU THE STATE OF THINGS RIGHT NOW.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:56 am
As a strong safety, he was good in coverage, but no stand out play.
The guy can’t tackle and he’s not a ball hawk. What else is there for him to do?
We don’t play a Tampa 2, someone will be in the box, which is why we got Mitchell.
I wouldn’t cut the guy. If I gave that impression, my bad. We’re too thin at the position as is.
Baker is the best centerfielder we have, IMO. Branch played Vernon Davis well enough in SF, but didn’t play very well in NO game.
I guess the bottom line is, we’re debating who’s the least sh*tty S on the team?
That can’t be good.
September 3rd, 2009 at 11:59 am
“keep your fingers crossed for Mike Mitchell. We need him to show up this year!”
This we certainly agree on.
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:00 pm
If Huff stays in the doghouse or doesn’t make the final 53 Hiram Eugene will stink it up all year long and we’ll draft Taylor Mays for the FS job.
If Branch can’t keep up with a TE, how is he supposed to keep up with a WR if he played FS? I’m not even convinced he’s a good ST gunner. Jarrod Cooper was better.
keep your fingers crossed for Mike Mitchell. We need him to show up this year!
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:05 pm
I wonder if Mike Mitchell would be a better fit at FS. He wouldn’t be called on much in man coverage and could sit back and freelance and scare the life out of WRs coming across the middle rather than having to cover TEs and WRs man-to-man.
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:05 pm
I only see two roster spots open on this team. The question is, who has the best chance of making it as special teamers:
Rankin
Russell
Lawton
Reese
Greenwood
S. Williams
Bowie
Hawkins
Brown
Boyd
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Huff may have more talent on paper, but Eugene has outplayed him at every opportunity.who had more ints. last year?Huff is one of those guys who has the size, speed, etc. but his play never lives up to it.i thought guys were against scholarship players?
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Case in point, per the Hall of Fame Web site:
“Known for his hard-hitting style, Ronnie Lott was used at both left and right cornerback positions and as a free and strong safety during his 14-year career. The versatile defensive back earned 10 Pro Bowl invitations at three different positions. It was, however, at free safety, where he had the freedom to cover the whole field, that he may have been most effective.”
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
we should trade for Corey Williams or Shaun Rodgers from Cleveland. Give up a 2nd rounder.
I’m telling you our offensive improvements mean nothing if our defense remains what it is. We will constantly be playing from behind all season.
Tommy Kelly is a good player, but he desparately needs someone to take the double team. Sands should be that guy with his size, but he obviously has ZERO technique. If Corey Williams plays low, and has good technique, etc, the middle of our defense could improve so much. We could even have Williams and Warren in the middle with Kelly holding down one rush end spot. We simply need size in the middle. Kelly is just too light. we need 330 in the middle, not 300 lbs. defensive anchors. Which is why we should have taken Ron Brace in 2nd round instead of giving him to NE and then drafting Mike Mitchell. I dont have naything against Mitchell but he doesnt fix our problems in the middle.
to me it should be Ellis, Warren, Newcomer (insert name here), and Kelly on the d-line from left to right.
thoughts?
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:13 pm
The safety production is an obvious product of the system – one safety has centerfield and gets few chances to take risks and make plays. The other usually has their back to the ball on passing downs.
I don’t blame Huff, Baker or Eugene and don’t expect much of Mitchell or Branch until the system is changed.

Going by that list I’d say Russell and either Reese or Lawton will be the two. Russell has really stood out on special teams in the preseason and has proven he can tote the rock as well. He’s also got the size to play FB. However, he’s not a proven fullback and with Oren O’Neal coming off an injury I think they’d like to keep a 2nd legitimate FB. Keeping 4 HBs is kind of a lot, but I just think Russell is a better special teams player and much better all-around player than those LBs and DBs.
Rankin and Boyd should definitely get practice squad invites.

September 3rd, 2009 at 12:19 pm
LOL, LA …
Yup that’s exactly it. Not good at all.
But again, it’s a by product of the awful Dline. How much of an impact do you expect the FS to have when the QB has 4 or 5 seconds to throw?
Ed Reed? Please! I think his ball hawking has more to do with the incredible pressure that Baltimore’s front 7 puts on the QB. Make the QB throw under pressure and I guarantee you Huff gets those 5 picks you’re asking for.
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Huff was out of position for 2 years and never had a chance at Free but for 5 games. When he played strong i dont remember Gates or Gonzo burning us like previous years did you see his pick aganist Dallas preseason needs to roam. Cut Eugene keep baker he was tied with picks last year recently said likes Raider system fits him he will ste pup Eugene as far as tackling beast seen him bounce off a few people in Preseason

I guess we will have to disagree Lefty. Doesn’t happen often, but Hiram Eugene is not the answer to me. Huff is flying around out there and Eugene is not. Again, it’s more about Eugene sucking than Huff e being all that. Huff is without question the better cover guy. He may be a split second late for the pick, but Eugene is not even in the play and it’s going for 6.

You blame the D line for Eugene sucking?
Wait.
You also stated that, in YOUR OPINION, Bey was doing great. That he was pulling double coverage, so he was doing his job. That all was ‘just fine’.
Guy can’t get open, doesn’t fight for balls, and has had zero impact.
Weren’t you running your mouth off about how Bey was now going to be tearing up the league? How Russell and Bey were going to be this awesome combo?
Now you’re reduced to blaming the D line for a safety playing like crap, and stating a WR, who has caught only 2 passes, is doing great.
Kind of reaching, there, flea.

LMN,
The minute you get a look at Scott at DE, I think you will change your tune about our need for a DE. I don’t know that Shaugnessy is the answer, but the position certainly needed to be addressed. And boy has Scott proven that to be the case.
____________________________________________________
Fair enough, but did acquire a real DT that could stop the run the DEs we have would automatically be better, its not the guy i dont like its the pick, and the picks before him… as with the DHB pick, probably good, but the O only gets good when we have a LT/RT or a center that can help them…
I see DHB as some nice alu-rims, but no need for them when the car you put them on dont have an engine…
it doesnt matter that we have Nnamdi or anybody else, if we cant stop the run… its like building the best wall around you city, but letting the gate be open..
it simply doesn’t compute.. Shaugnessy might be great, but its only plugging a tiny whole in our big seave…

You know NOTHING about football so why even try? Your fantasy football logic doesn’t apply to the real game.
No Eugene sucks because … he sucks!
In addition, the Dline sucks!
See, your F’ing with the wrong guy. AGAIN!
Let’s poll football coaches and see if they would want a WR who constantly draws double teams. Wonder what they would say? I wonder if they would consider that an advantage.
You keepin up 9r guy?
I wonder if they would want like that to open up the underneath for a guy like Gore or Davis?
You still with me?
I wonder if Bruce would appreciate the single coverage?

Could it be that the reason why our secondary (particularly the FS and SS positions) is a hinderance is because we haven’t had a decent pass rush in years? You pressure the QB, he makes ill advised throws which enables us to get breakups, INTS, etc.
when was the last time our Dline made you scared to attack us downfield?

4eva, I vistited Chichen Itza (sp?) recently, down there in the mayan jungle.
It was explained that the 2012 marker is actually the end of a chapter, more or less, in world history. The Mayas broke stuff down mathematically, and they calculated cycles of 5000 years or so, based on their version of a century, like 58 years or something?
So, it’s possibly catastrophic, but not the end of the world, despite a lot of strange parrallels people have noticed between that “prophecy” and events scheduled for 2012.

Like I said, still here phaggin it up! Beggin for attention!
Ehhhhh nevermind! I know this is way over your head. Go back to the rainbow blog where your favorite names Peanut and Biotch are thrown around more commonly.
=====================
Oh stop whining like a slapped on little child, peanut.
Ask a coach if they want a WR who warrants double coverage?
THEY WANT A WIDE RECEIVER WHO CAN MAKE PLAYS..you know..ACTUALLY CATCH A BALL ON OCCASION.
See, in order to warrant double coverage, it means you’re a threat. You stupidly allude to Bey’s one jaunt down the sidelines, where it was obvious the dback drifted over..both Dbacks went for the ball. Bey? Guy did LIKE HE DID IN COLLEGE..watched others go for it.
Now, dumbass, like it or not, OVER 300 OTHER PLAYERS IN THE NFL HAVE BETTER NUMBERS than that probably bust, Bey.
No, peanut, he doesn’t get doubled..and yes, peanut, he has been useless.
Only a damn moron would run the “oh..well…he HASN’T CAUGHT A DAMN THING..but he’s doing just fine”.
and that moron would be you, peanut.
BTW, dumbass, the best WR of all time, Rice, got that tag while being doubled covered AND catching the ball.
EVERY great WR is double covered AND catches the ball.
Bey will never be in either category..and you? you’ll be making excuses..just like you do for everything that faulters with the Raiders.

I CALL BS
=============
And I call dumber than cotton.
It’s a fact that even after the FIRST FULL YEAR WITH THE TEAM, Russell still couldn’t grasp the playbook.
don’t know about you, but that’s not exactly conducive to talks of “being bright”.
Was common knowledge that the playbook had to be dumbed down for Russell..as Kiffin put it “keep things simple for him, for a while”.
Here’s a reality check for you.
Listening to someone talk DOES reflect on how they play. If you stumble and mutter your way through a simple conversation, needing time to formulate thoughts, it’s a good indication you need that “extra time” while reading defenses.
You, of all posters here, should know about the “needing time to formulate thoughts”..right, Lifer?
tell you what.
You and jhill pool your thoughts, and see if you can muster up just once cohesive comment..just for fun.

True…Randy Moss isn’t going to the HOF because he pulled the safety over…he is going to the HOF because he pulled the safety over and STILL made plays.
Haven’t seen any indication that DHB is capable of that yet….but it is way too early to panic on a rookie WR, they sometimes take years to develop (which is why we never should have drafted him in the first place, but that is a different argument).

September 3rd, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Russell has a similar problem that Favre has.
He trusts his arm too much. Its not that he’s slow, it’s that he locks onto a receiver and wants to gun it to him. Favre trusts his arm enough to try and fit balls into tight coverage, which is why he has the all time record in picks as well as TDs.
Russell doesn’t throw a lot of picks. He’s solid when he moves through his progressions, but was forced to do a lot of checking down. Now that he has help on the outside, this area of his game will improve.
Besides, if you gotta check down, DMC and Miller are two guys that are more than capable of making plays after the catch.

September 3rd, 2009 at 2:35 pm
You can say the Saints gave it to us, but the fact is, Holland made a few moves on that play and got us in the end zone on a day where that was looking extremely unlikely.
Miller stumbles, I think they like Holland. Kept him around this long.
I’m rooting for Nick, though.
But the real beauty of the Crabtree mess is that it’s primarily because of Al Davis.
Davis saw something or several things he didn’t like about Crabtree, passed him up and took the speedster at #7.
Crabtree is insulted and shocked he wasn’t taken higher or at least #7. Now he’s sitting out until he gets DHB money, which he won’t. As much as SF needs him, I doubt they’ll cave. They’ll just as soon take it on the chin and move on.
If Crabtree decides to sit and enter the 2010 draft, it’ll be the dumbest decision siince Maurice Clarette trying to get in early.
Meanwhile, DHB got to camp after missing, what, two ‘learning intensive’ practices? He’ll play opening night on MNF.
Even if DHB turns in a 20 catch, 300 yard year, it’ll be 20 more catches and 300 yards more than Crabtree will have if he continues to be an idiot.

Lol..yeah..I know. In camp, with 23 mil..DOING SQUAT.

Al Davis saw Tim Brown.

“Is there ANY AWARD CRABTREE DIDN’T GET?”
Yeah, NFL Rookie of the Year.
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:11 pm
TO GIVE EQUAL BILLING:
We present the list of award given to Darrius Heyward-Bey:
1. He spent 2005 on redshirt status. In 2006, he ran a 4.23-second 40-yard dash, which set the school record for a wide receiver
Yes, ROFLMFAO…thanks Az..couldn’t have done it without you and Dakota stupidly setting this up.

In other words, NO..there isn’t any college awards, given out, for WR’s, that Craptree didn’t own?
As far as NFL Rookie of the Year?
Would that be your worst nightmare, or what?
Raider fans would NEVER live that down..
Hell..as it is..you have Bey and Murphy that will be laughed at for years..but letting Crabtree go to the cross bay Niners?
Yep…poetry
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:17 pm
Richochet,
Don’t worry, maybe your 9ers can draft Crabtree again next season…in the second round (and he’ll still want top five money, lol)
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:18 pm
“Let’s just go right to the dumbest comment of the post..the “Even if he only has” comment.
Dude..do you even think before you post? I mean..lol..WTF?
The Raiders can barely afford things as it is..and here you’re saying “he’s GUARANTEED 23 MILLION..so..even if he does absolutely squat, it’s still better than the Niners not paying a guy who wanted more money.
think about it..DUMB..uber dumb.”
No, my point is if Crabtree sits, he contributes nothing. The 49ers wasted a draft pick wheras the Raiders got exactly who they wanted. Whether you like him or not means nothing.
Bottom line:
Crabtree: $0.00, 0 catches
49ers: Wasted #10 overall pick
DHB: Millionaire
Raiders: Used #7 overall pick on a controversial choice.
And you don’t know that DHB won’t be the better NFL WR.
Oh, wait, everyone who does well in college goes on to have a great NFL career, right?

WHAT THE FUGG ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Nothing, as usual.
======================
Quit acting stupid (maybe it’s not an act)
Others knew exactly what it meant.
They also knew I was going to slap your sorryass down with a reply.
I’ll keep it simple, considering you being of simple mind.
Best WR OF ALL TIME was double covered. Holds most of the records.
In other words, you dumbass, YOUR WHINE ABOUT BEY IS HE CAN’T GET OPEN BECAUSE HE’S DOUBLE COVERED.
YOUR WHINE ABOUT BEY IS HE HASN’T CAUGHT ANY BALLS BECAUSE HE’S DOUBLE COVERED.
YOUR WHINE ABOUT BEY IS HE IS DOING ‘HIS JOB’.
Even LA to Bay stated “yes, he should STILL be catching balls”.
No, peanut, he’ll never be confused with Rice, or even an NFL WR, at this point.
If you weren’t so damn stupid, I wouldn’t need to be wasting space here explaining the simplest of things.
Now, get back to making excuses. Fools live for that.

The skinny
The Raiders dominated the AFL for much of the 1960s and the NFL during the 1970s. But based on just about every yardstick of competence the franchise has been terrible this decade. The Raiders are in the bottom third of the league in player costs-per-win, winning percentage and brand value. Much of the decline in the franchise has been due to bad draft picks and expensive free-agent signings that have not panned out. Team owner Al Davis, who is 80 and in poor health, has failed to get the new stadium he so badly needs and has angered many fans and politicians with lawsuits and transporting his team from Oakland to Los Angeles and then back to Oakland. Whoever succeeds Davis as managing partner has a lot of rebuilding to do.

Do you really think any back up tackle is going to make ANY fukkin difference, when this is going on???
Only two NFL teams are unprofitable: the Seattle Seahawks, who lost $2.4 million, and the biggest loser of them all, the Oakland Raiders. Al Davis’ once wondrous franchise is now the least valuable NFL club at a “mere” $797 million, plus the Raiders had the biggest operating loss in the league at $5.7 million.

The fastest Crabtree ever ran was to his agent’s office to try and get him top 5 money when he was drafted at 10. The only thing he caught so far in the NFL – reputation as a fool and a prima donna. Oh, and maybe VD from some dude in the Castro.
I don’t know much about the Wonderlic, but I do know Crabtree’s an idiot.

September 3rd, 2009 at 3:42 pm
why is it that dumb arses and niner fans want to blame the raiders for Crabtree’s stupidity, we picked who we wanted at #7, they picked crabtree at 10 not in the top 5 but at ten all other teams passed him on the way to 10 also, if he holds out he will not be in the top 10 next year and lose even more money, i don’t care if he thinks or is better than DHB, he got picked at 10 # f…ing 10 that is it, now deal with it, you got another TO, i’m glad the raiders didn’t pick the prima donna, now back to the raiders no one’s castoff’s will help this run defense the only thing that will help them is if our offense runs the ball kills the clock and scores, otherwise it will be a long season..see yall monday night……..

Walker

Otherwise they would have turned a huge profit…as most NFL teams do since the TV contract is large enough that when divided between all the teams, it covers the entire salary cap…

G/C Sean Mahan is scheduled to meet with the Raiders.
It’s indictment of Samson Satele, who hasn’t been able to beat out John Wade this summer. If Mahan signed with Oakland, he could end up starting later in the season.

September 3rd, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Interesting that the Lions had the worst attendance in the league, Raiders second-worst, yet they operated more profitably than the Raiders.
My quick answer, corporate sponsorship. Could have something to do with pro-rating and signing bonuses (not part of the cap).
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:17 pm
KK,
I hear you bro, and I agree that the Raiders are in trouble…but as long as Al Davis doesn’t go nutz and sign a bunch of loser free agents again like he did in 08′, I think he will easily turn a profit…
I 100% agree with you that from a competitive standpoint, Al Davis has driven us so low that whale schit is landing on our heads, but I just don’t think he will bankrupt the team. He paid the price for horrible FAs and for drafting in the top 10 for a bunch of years, but if he holds off on the FA frenzy, like he did this year, the Raiders will turn a profit once again.
I would love to see Al forced to sell…just doubt it will happen.

Kell – Really dude …those net worth rankings are meaningless. Don’t put much stock into it. The value of any object is in the eyes of the beholder; which means it varies. Forbes does not have a monopoly on value – just an opinion – like countless other opinions out there.
Still, the Raiders rank last in many categories of measurement simply because they’ve been losing for the past countless years. Winning cures all. And you watch just have fast these stats change once that happens. Just goes to show you how ‘worthless’ they truly are.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:21 pm

September 3rd, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Kell – Really dude …those net worth rankings are meaningless. Don’t put much stock into it. The value of any object is in the eyes of the beholder; which means it varies. Forbes does not have a monopoly on value – just an opinion – like countless other opinions out there.

Sorry dude, just being real.
Not to long ago, most analyst thought the Dow’s net worth was enough to be over 14k. Its now at 9k.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Kell you in here telling people to stfu?…you think anyone in here would take orders from a prick like you?
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:23 pm
We do lead the NFL in Head Coach firings over the past 7 years…
…and in most losses over the past 6 years!
We’re #1!
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:23 pm
You guys are a bunch of beat-down pussies. Looooooooow Expectations.
LOSERS. You make me sick!

September 3rd, 2009 at 4:25 pm
See everyone look at how Dakota found a positive in this crappy situation!!
We can be Number 1 at something!
When Al dies his son doesn’t want this mess so we could be in a worse situation than we are now if that is at all possible.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Kell, we all know its YOU thats the loser,..you prove it in here every day.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Not sure what happened there. Had to turn off my box then turn it back on. NFLN is on now …lets see what Vick’s got. (I still don’t know why the Eagles got him with McNabb there).
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:28 pm

Hey Exla…no matter how many times I see that picture,iy still gives me da creeps =)
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:28 pm
look, it comes down to this..This is JaMarcus’ 15 or 16 start against the Chargers…typically it takes 32 starts for a QB to start to recoginze everything that the d-coordinators are doing to them…there may be some slow starts early in the season, but by week 8, things may start to work themselves out… If anything needs to be questioned, it is the defense, it is pathetic.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Anyway, does anyone think that Alfonso Boone can start at RDE. We CANNOT go into the season with T. Scott at RDE
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Something has to be going on ..it crapped out AGAIN!!
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Hey Kell, when you are in here screaming, cussing,..are you in your house punching holes in walls?…yelling?…do your neighbors avoid you?
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:30 pm
I am telling you, if Al wants to keep the Raiders in the family, his best bet is to take a trip up to Oregon and partake in their Death with Dignity Act in 2010.
No federal estate taxes in 2010 and Mark gets a stepped up basis of whatever the team is worth on Al’s date of death.
Estate planning at its best baby!

KK is one of those old scary guys that talks to himself while walking aimlessly down the street at 3am with a hatchet in his hand.
If it wasn’t for the fact that he craps his pants at inopportune times He probably would have angrily chopped a few of the locals mail boxes in half and killed off a few of the neighborhood cats.
Its only his uncontrollable bowel movements that have saved the neighborhood from the true wrath of KK.

KK relates to the Raiders because he (like Al Davis) needs a drool rag.
The player wear helmets KK wears a helmet.
Gallery has nice colored art work all over his body KK paints his naked crap stained body during finger paint time at the convalescent home.
The Raiders take a huge dump in front of the home crowd and KK cant control his bowels either.
I can see why he follows the Raiders now….

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently said up to 12 teams were in danger of having at least one blackout this season.A sellout refers only to the 65,000 seats in the upper and lower bowls of Invesco Field at Mile High, which has an overall capacity of 76,125 seats. These “nonpremium” seats are subject to complete revenue sharing with the league’s 31 other teams.
It’s no surprise the Broncos are suffering less than other NFL franchises through this difficult economy. The team has 316 consecutive regular-season and playoff sellouts, stretching back 40 years.———
————-
It would be hard to find a more loyal fan of the Washington Redskins than real estate agent Pat Hill. She’s had season tickets since the early 1960s. Hill is one of 125 season ticket holders who asked to be released from multiyear contracts and were sued by the Redskins in the past five years. The Washington Post interviewed about two dozen of them. Most said that they were victims of the economic downturn, having lost a job or experiencing some other financial hardship.
——
The Bush depression is the reason Al’s losing money. Hell the whole NFL feels the effects of the economy. It’s time for some teams to bail out the fans. Al, list your stock publicly & the fans will buy it. He has to go sometime right?
GB did it! Dakota GB means reen Bay not Glenn Beck.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Richochet,
Only a 12 year old would think that a college player’s resume makes him a great NFL prospect. Is your real name Ty Detmer?
==============================
Wow.
You didn’t just say that.
Wait. Let me check.
Yep, lol, you did.
Ok Einstein, tell me then..what is THE CRITERIA FOR EACH AND EVERY TEAM WHEN THEY DRAFT??
Ok, I’ll make it simple for you.
What do the draft rankings go by?
1. what the mailman told you?
2. letters from neighbors?
3. little birdy told you?
4. what a player did in college?
Well?? Something is used to decide who is going to be a good NFL PROSPECT…WHAT, PRAY TELL, WOULD THAT BE??
(still laughing…honestly)

KK,
I hear you bro, and I agree that the Raiders are in trouble…but as long as Al Davis doesn’t go nutz and sign a bunch of loser free agents again like he did in 08′, I think he will easily turn a profit…
—————————————-
you “doubt it”??
It’s IMPOSSIBLE.
You can’t tell a person they have to sell something that is privately owned…EVER.
He could get ousted from the league for rule violations, but even then he can pass it on to whoever.
Besides, even if someone could get booted, do you honestly believe the other owners would want that?
Why?
They love having an owner who insures them a win. Love having a guy who does everything backasswards. Love knowing that whatever it is they do, whatever it is they screw up, they’ll always know they’ll have the out of “Well, hey, at least I didn’t pull an Al Davis”.
Nope..you’re stuck….foreveeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Pete those 40 people got laid off because you suck at your business….but go ahead and blame the government for your failings.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
norc… you’re a clown…
fiscal policy impacts the economy in a big way…
as for my business… the fact that i am actually still in business is just short of a miracle…
i don’t sell schit… our business performs engineering tasks for telephone companies…
phone companies tend to be very mindful of the economic climate and cut their budgets as they see fit…
that, combined with contract negotiations with their unions… created a huge problem…
had the unions gone on strike… that would have been good for me…
had the unions settled quickly… that would have been good for me…
but for the past 7 months everything has been in limbo… and that has been bad for me…
another part of my engineering business depends on new housing starts… as we do fiber to the home designs… not a lot of new construction out there now is there???
but… since you’re the only smart m’fker here… i’ll let you tell me how i could have done it right…
by the way… i am assured by several of the managers at the phone company that as soon as their budgets for 2010 are released they would like to negotiate some new work…
they didn’t say bid it out.. they said negotiate…
one last thing…
two weeks ago i bid 7 cents a foot on a 75 mile fiber job in Oklahoma… i never bid less than 24 cents/ft in my life…
i lost the bid… unbelieveable…
but… clearly i don’t know what the fck i’m doing… right you stupid m’fer…
September 3rd, 2009 at 7:22 pm
Florida??
I’m surprised at you.
Bob’s a burner.
Burners are limited to two sentences..three tops.
You lost him at “fiscal”.
September 3rd, 2009 at 7:39 pm
We are seeing some unbelievable low bids here. Material prices are still what they were during the boom, but everyone is bleeding labor dry. Pay cuts everywhere unless you work for the state.
They were about the only ones trading cash for clunkers and they mostly bought foreign cars.
We are screwed, it already hurts and they real screwing has not even started.
