fiscal policy impacts the economy in a big way…

as for my business… the fact that i am actually still in business is just short of a miracle…

i don’t sell schit… our business performs engineering tasks for telephone companies…

phone companies tend to be very mindful of the economic climate and cut their budgets as they see fit…

that, combined with contract negotiations with their unions… created a huge problem…

had the unions gone on strike… that would have been good for me…

had the unions settled quickly… that would have been good for me…

but for the past 7 months everything has been in limbo… and that has been bad for me…

another part of my engineering business depends on new housing starts… as we do fiber to the home designs… not a lot of new construction out there now is there???

by the way… i am assured by several of the managers at the phone company that as soon as their budgets for 2010 are released they would like to negotiate some new work…

two weeks ago i bid 7 cents a foot on a 75 mile fiber job in Oklahoma… i never bid less than 24 cents/ft in my life…

i lost the bid… unbelieveable…

I hear you bro, and I agree that the Raiders are in trouble…but as long as Al Davis doesn’t go nutz and sign a bunch of loser free agents again like he did in 08′, I think he will easily turn a profit…

I 100% agree with you that from a competitive standpoint, Al Davis has driven us so low that whale schit is landing on our heads, but I just don’t think he will bankrupt the team. He paid the price for horrible FAs and for drafting in the top 10 for a bunch of years, but if he holds off on the FA frenzy, like he did this year, the Raiders will turn a profit once again.

I would love to see Al forced to sell…just doubt it will happen.

It’s IMPOSSIBLE.

You can’t tell a person they have to sell something that is privately owned…EVER.
He could get ousted from the league for rule violations, but even then he can pass it on to whoever.

Besides, even if someone could get booted, do you honestly believe the other owners would want that?
Why?

They love having an owner who insures them a win. Love having a guy who does everything backasswards. Love knowing that whatever it is they do, whatever it is they screw up, they’ll always know they’ll have the out of “Well, hey, at least I didn’t pull an Al Davis”.
