A Raiders spokesman came to the media room minutes before the press conference with Richard Seymour to announce Monday night’s game is a sellout and will be televised locally.

I haven’t felt this good about a season in awhile. I always try to be optimistic about the Raiders but I am actually starting to feel good about this team.
That being said monday night is still a problem, but less of 1 now. After the other players see this press confrence, they will probably be as pumped as us fans.

SD was hoping that the media reports including those by Jerry McDummy saying that Seymour wasn’t gonna report in time to play Monday and all that crap were true.

That news conference was the bomb!!! I stand corrected – I have to tip my hat to Al Davis. Al still has geriatric blepharitis , with involuntary tearing, but his mental capacity appears to be intact. He knows what he is talking about and he is making this team better. The way the news conference ended was awesome and funny: Richard David White, S.F Chronicle, asked Symor, “Do you want a long-term contract, or are you content to just play out the final year of your deal and see what happens after the season?” Al interjects, before Seymor can answer, “He has an agent, I can assure you, everyone knows about his agent. David don’t worry about things that don’t concern you.” Then Seymor chuckles and says, “That’s my answer, ha ha ha!” That was classic!!! This acquisition is huge!!! Symor is going to have a ripple affect on this entire defense squad. This changes everything!

I was blogging on PFT all week saying the writers were off base calling Cable a liar. So you can bet I let Florio have it this morning, when the news broke that Richard was coming.

It all comes down to economics. It was either Seymour played or lost 200 stacks a week.
His wife and kids were not going to let him ditch work and not bring them checks home because of some stupid bias the media has against the Raiders.

all i care about is that Seymour is motivated on the field and won’t mail it in with the hopes that he can leave in a year. I don’t care if he grew up a fan of the Raiders or not. If he did then he understands what the Nation expects of him. long as he produces on the field then he can be a fan of the California Redwoods. He’s saying the right things and if it works out then the press conference announcing a contract extension will be even better than this one. I do love that Al sent Crockett and Thomas to talk to him. I would be shocked if there was no contract extension by mid season.

One of the reasons we get along (other than our appreciation for Warren Hayes and good music) is that we both can tell these mediots and other retarded posters where to go when they talk out of their backside.
I do not watch other sports. I don’t like basketball, baseball or anything really except the Raiders. The Raiders are all I have. I wait from January until now, so yes I am very excited about Al and Richard sticking to the media today. Maybe I shouldn’t get so emotional about it but thats what happened.

i hope this puts to rest that al davis doesnt belive in building the lines. he tried to after ron brace and vince wilfork. he believed in the players we had but also wanted to get more help. people think that if a trade doesnt happen when they want it that they never tried. well other teams have to be willing to trade and it clearly wasnt the case. the old man knows what hes doing.
