Raiders take their turn
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at 7:28 pm in Oakland Raiders.
After listening and reading for a week about how much Richard Seymour didn’t want to join their organization, Al Davis wanted to set the record straight.
Davis’ appearance was a welcome surprise, given his penchant for knowledge of history, contact, tradition and unique view on all things Raider. He talked of his team “having a chance,” pointed out other trades involving first-round picks that historically paid dividends and took a few swipes at critics along the way.
Almost forgot. Seymour came off as every bit the class act he was purported to be, while Tom Cable mostly listened to Davis and the new player.
Much more to come later . . .

You’re a ridiculous clown.
“OOOoooh Al Davis checked David White, Oooohhhhhh ahhhhhhhh. lol. Geez.
=====================================================
If you actually READ any of my posts, I never said anything about any of the reporters. I said Davis realized we needed a DE and he got the best one available. At your advanced age you should admire that Al Davis can still hold cogent discussions. Kookie, you fall apart when you can’t find your false teeth.

Ok now that seymour is here let’s talk about this game. I think Chris Morris vs Jamal Williams is the most the important in the game. What matchup do you guys think is the key to the game?
September 12th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
I believe that the defense got better with the addition of seymour. Better is good, but they have a long way to go. I hope that Seymour plays his tail off like he has for the pats, and that the rest of the defense learns from him.

Brien
I believe containg the edge, Merriman and Phillips will be the most important part of our game on offense. Williams can be tagged teamed if need be.

Wow, is anyone watching the OSU/USC game? Could ESPN hate the raiders anymore?
Their pitch for the monday night game was “are the raiders going to win a game this year…?”

Much more to come…..watch out Jerry can be pissy sometimes towards Al Davis……I heard his question to Al, so here it is in advance.
Al did you go after RS specifically to address the run defense.
No we went after Richard because of the great athlete he is and what he brings to our organization.
I didn’t get the quote exact and thats why I didn’t put it in quotation marks.

I hate The Raiders waring with jerseys at home. I don’t know why they had to choose to do that.

Al is still the man! That is one stubborn old dude but you gotta hand it to him for sticking with his own agenda. Thats consistency
=========
“Hand it to him for sticking with his own agenda”?
GUY’S BEEN A TOTAL TRAIN WRECK.
Consistency?
Well..you are right.
Consistently one of the worst teams in the NFL..yep..Al IS consistent.
Consistently firing head coaches..yep..Al IS consistent.
Consistently making stupid off season decisions..oh hell yeah..Al is consistent.
Consistently proves that some Raider fans are sheep, and will never change…oh yeah..Consistency reigns supreme.

Thanks to Briz for posting a link to the press conference. Seymour sounds like an intelligent and mature man. I hope he starts at DE on Monday. I want to see him play the whole game!

Davis admitted he wanted Ron Brace in the video! I love the old man. I just hope Mitchell plays to his hype from the youtube highlights

Richard Seymor is a Christian man. He puts his faith first, his family second and the Raiders third. That is the correct order. That is the “integrity” and stability you sense in our introduction to this man in the news conference. How many of you bloggers can say you manage your life in that order. If you don’t, that is a major reason you have no integrity and are a loser. Think about it. The Raiders have no leadership. If they had a leader the team would have the fear of God in them with regard to their personal behavior leading up to game day. How can Cable lead when he is on the chase from the legal system (and the NFL commissioner!) himself, due to HIS poor judgement! It is a steep hill this team is going to have to climb in order to gain any respect. In light of the signing of Seymor am I am swallowing deeply and generously upgrading my prognostication to 2-6, (from 0-8) for the first half of the season.
