Notes:
- Raiders come up with huge stop at end of first quarter, with Greg Ellis stripping LaDainian Tomlinson after a shovel pass and Michael Huff recovering. Darren Sproles had returned kickoff following Raider TD 66 yards.
Richard Seymour had a sack on the drive and another tackle.
Raiders fans think they’ve got themselves a team.
– Who remembers 2006? Or 2008. The Raiders drove 84 yards in 10 plays, with a 30-yard Russell to Miller hookup and featuring the running of McFadden and Bush. The two runners have rushed for 76 yards in two drives and the Chargers are on their heels.
– Nice opening defensive series, three-and-out, Rivers misses Gates on third-and-5. Seymour in on all three plays. Brown for Morrison on third down.
– The Raiders had a promising opening drive come up empty when Russell locked in on Louis Murphy with Quintin Jammer recording an interception near the goal line and returning it to the 29-yard line. Bush and McFadden had rushed for 35 yards on four carries.

Even though you say it’s predictable, they’re getting 3-5 yds on each carry. They should’ve kept the ball on the ground that last drive. I don’t like giving SD 3 1/2 minutes to close out this half. Bad playcalling, IMO.

I wasn’t going to comment here until after the game. But I have to say; that is the single worst officiating call I have ever seen.
BTW, I was already wrong about my run attempt prediction. I think Cable surpassed my prediction of 16 attempts on the 17th play. Maybe he was reading my comments? Anyhow, good. All I ever wanted to do was see this team put the ball on the ground again.
My final score prediction was that we’d be ahead in the 4th quarter, then choke. Hope Cable proves me wrong there, too.
We have made improvements. You guys were right. This is the best I’ve seen us look since early ‘07 when Kiffin’s team was showing signs of gelling.

Hey…if anything, at least we can tip our cap to the Raiders but I remember last year, I was at the game against the Chargers in Oakland. I think we were leading but like 17 and the Chargers scored like 24 points in the 4th quarter to win so I want to see a complete game.
