SD_LaDainian Tomlinson 1-yard run (Nate Kaeding kicks PAT), 4:45.
Oak_Sebastian Janikowski 37-yard field goal, :40
SD_Kaeding 47-yard field goal, :00
Notes:
– Darren Sproles had his second big return following Janikowski’s field goal, racing 59 yards to the Oakland 41.
Rivers got the Chargers in range for a 47-yard field goal by Kaeding for a somewhat deflating 10-10 tie after Oakland had outgained San Diego 217-74.
– JaMarcus Russell got a classic two-minute opportunity to close out the half, with Oakland starting at the 36 with 2:23 left following a 65-yard Mike Scifres punt and 14-yard return by Johnnie Lee Higgins.
He had key completions to Louis Murphy and Zach Miller, nearly had a pass picked that went directly to Steven Cooper, but fired a bullet to Murphy for a 19-yard TD with 19 seconds left in front of Steve Gregory.
Except the TD was nullified on by the officials on replay, who said Murphy lost possession on the way down. Looked from here like he caught the ball, both feet hit ground, and THEN lost possession. Sebastian Janikowski kicks 37-yard FG with 40 seconds left.
– Shane Lechler’s 55-yard punt, with Trevor Scott dumping Sproles at the 13, gave San Diego the ball with 3:36 to play in the half with 87 yards to go.
– Darrius Heyward-Bey, who had a drop erased by penalty in the first quarter, let one bouncer off his chest and hands in the second quarter. Russell missed Louis Murphy on a third-and-5 slant to force the first Raiders punt at 3:50.
– Raiders open next series with Samson Satele at center, Chris Morris at left guard. PA announcer says return is questionable with back injury.
– San Diego converts turnover for touchdown with help from 24-yard Rivers-to-Gates strike to the 1-yard line. Finishes 45-yard drive in seven plays.
On back-to-back plays, Tyvon Branch flattened Brandon Manumaleuna for a 2-yard loss on a screen and Chris Johnson unloaded on Darren Sproles on the next play for no gain. The crowd was howling, quieted by Rivers’ strike.
– Illegal contact foul on Chargers gives Raiders one first down, Russell hits Miller for 17 yards for another. Drive ends on McFadden fumble _ the Raiders second turnover. They still haven’t punted.
Robert Gallery is injured on play, a concern considering Paul McQuistan is inactive.

Of course the NFL is crooked. WE have to smash the Chargers into the ground in the second half. Don’t leave it up to the refs at all.
Murphy has to do a better job in not bobbling the ball at all in the 2nd half, since we see that the NFL is more crooked than Madoff and his Ponzi scheme.

The person I dislike the most right now is Leodis McKelvin. Why in the hell would the guy take the kickoff out of the endzone when all he had to do was kneel the ball down and give the ball to his Bills offense so they could run the clock out and win against the Patriots but no, he had to fumble it. The Patriots are looked over by the Gods or something because they get every freakin call.

Did you notice that the referees did not go to the booth for that last fumble that went the Patriots way? unbelievable. It looked like his knee was down. also, that catch Murphy made within two minutes for the Raiders… a touchdown. even the announcers said it and were shocked if it was overturned. they could not believe how deep the conspiracy is. If that exact same play was Brady to Moss, the refs rule that a touchdown, without a replay.
this is B.S and everyone should sign a write a letter to Goodell over this.

To me it’s no different than if a receiver catches the ball in the end zone comes down with two feet and then goes out of bounds. The problem with the NFL is that it’s not consistent.
The refs make calls however they feel like it. Almost half the analysts and announcers in the league have SD picked to not only win the division but go to the Superbowl as well. How dare the Raiders beat them on opening night.
Goodell won’t allow that without a fight. Pathetic.

one of WORST CALLS ever! even if the rules didnt state that 2 feet down was a touchdown, if you follow the review, its NOT EVEN CLEAR that he LOST posession when his arm/ball hit…commentary even stated it STILL looked as if he had control…points mute thouhg, shouldnt b a factor…2 feet down+ ball posession=7PTS.

The sad part about Seymour is…hes the only one making plays on the defensive line and hes the one getting double teamed. The thing I have noticed is the linebackers have been free to make the necessary plays just because of him. You’d think Kelly, Warren and Ellis would have an easier time getting to the QB with Seymour on the line but its like they’ve disappeared.

The Pats got some non-first downs on their second to last scoring drive (check the video), and now –surprize, surprize — the Raiders get screwed by the refs. Rob Ryan’s defense did what it usually does in Cleveland while ours looks 10x better. I credit alot of it to Seymour but Marshall seems to know more of what hes doing.

I’m giving Russell a pass for this game, no idea why.
We need to get the run game going.
Receivers need to hang on to the ball.
The O Line needs to start mauling some people.
One suggestion I have is that Cable go back to basics with Russell. Get him some nice easy passes, because he is clearly out of sorts right now.

the conspiracy lives on. yeah, I like how the announcers took back their initial diagnosis of the Murphy touchdown… basing it on one angle while deconstructing the original main points… making it all arbitrary and ambiguous… its bull crap. whatever happened to breaking the plain. the ball was down by contact and he had both feet in with ball control.
